This is possibly the best pro wrestling movie ever made. I went in already knowing their tragic ends & I still came out feeling the vicious gut punches of emotions. They all did such an amazing job.
that is because it was about wrestling. this is a family drama. they could have been football players and the story would have been the same.@@chrischar9428
The director & even Kevin Von Erich said including Chris was just too much tragedy to take in. Consider how tragic the film portrays the Von Erichs already, could you take Chris’ tragic end too?
As a lifelong wrestling fan that started watching in the 80s I noticed that too I mean how do you not notice if you know this story before the movie but as a film and acting nerd I do get why they didn’t knowledge that there was another brother, the movie is already completely enough as it is, and there really any time left in the runtime if they threw Chris in there, because if he was just thrown in in the movie as it is, I don’t know where they would’ve really had him, except for maybe at the family scenes, and then his death scene. It would’ve been way too much for the audience to handle especially for the people that didn’t know this story going in. As a wrestling fan yes it’s a sad movie, but it didn’t punch me in the God because I’ve just grown up knowing what happened but people that didn’t every person that has watched this without knowing the story is left just bawling.
It's a movie, there is a thing called pacing, and including him into the story would have took away from the story they were trying to convey. It helps to do your own research instead of crying online.
I graduated with Mike, I don’t remember him being a musical prodigy or anything music related at all. Not sure where they got that. Chris sold me a bag of weed one time. I met Fritz when I was in 8th grade, couldn’t believe how freakin big his hands were when we shook hands.
@@JonesteinTX I didn't take it as criticism I was just explaining why I used that version. I considered doing a bit more of a dive in the real life stuff but that likely wouldve turned into more if a research essay
i watched it a few days ago and thought it was really good but kevin von erich said fritz was nothing like he was in the film and was actually super supportive and really tried to help them by the way kevin talks about him i thinks its true
Yeah for the sake of time on the video I didn't want to turn this into an "accuracy of the story" outside of it looking mostly correct. Like honestly the guy who played Ric Flair must have done zero research
Thank you yeah those gags are a staple of my channel. I like to play with sound gags, alliteration, stuff like that. Really appreciate that you enjoyed it

Man I've been struggling to make a review on this film. Most depressed I've walked out of a cinema in a long time A true masterpiece but not something you want to watch again anytime soon
Kerry was alive when Jerry Jarrett came in,Kevin was spared addiction on screen,Ricky Vaughn was glossed over, Brody n Gino could have been tales the boys shared, one heartfelt the other cautionary, Chris wasn't even in the film n while he wanted to wrestle ,could've been shown the better the dynamic of Chris wanting in whole Mike never did.
Im sorry the cast did not look like the real wrestlers...kerry is no where what he looked irl..zac looked like kerry...also the man playing ric flair was terrible. Did zero research apparently because i have no idea what that performance was. Other than that great movie.
Build wise yes I was talking more about their faces. I agree that Kerry could've been a bit more jacked. Also yeah I agree Ric Flair was a miss but he was only in like 30 seconds of the film so I give it a pass
My only problem was that they glossed over the fact Kerry and the other brother in the movie that committed suicide were both facing jail time because of DUIs and made it seem like it was because they missed their brothers. Other than that a really good movie that far to many people didn't see.
This is possibly the best pro wrestling movie ever made. I went in already knowing their tragic ends & I still came out feeling the vicious gut punches of emotions. They all did such an amazing job.
It's either this or The Wrestler. My live show TUHOS will do a discussion on that one, one day.
The Wrestler was much better
that is because it was about wrestling. this is a family drama. they could have been football players and the story would have been the same.@@chrischar9428
Movie didn't even include Chris, arguably the most tragic.
Yeah I tried to not go into what the film didn't have cause it's a review about the movie itself.
Mike was the embodiment of Chris as well because they both mirrored each other’s problems in a lot of ways.
The director & even Kevin Von Erich said including Chris was just too much tragedy to take in. Consider how tragic the film portrays the Von Erichs already, could you take Chris’ tragic end too?

So crazy that the real story was even worse. Chris, Davids infant daugjter, etc
Yeah I remember the dark side of the ring documentary it was hard to get through
Love that Seabiscuit got a clip in this. 😁

I was only going based on the film. I believe they did combine some aspects of other real life people into the characters
I wasn’t criticizing your review, just relaying my first hand experience growing up around them.
Also, great review, I really enjoy your work.

@@JonesteinTX thank you. I'm gonna be doing a few different things in 2024 to branch out a bit more

Bullshitcough
Fun video!!!! Great review. My favorite parts was the cough for the cooperate fck ups n "where r they" scenes. 😂👏 had to rewind on that 1.

Wrestling isn't bad fodder for good movies. I'm really looking forward to this and I really enjoyed both The Wrestler and Fighting With My Family.
The Wrestler might be a TUHOS special if I can get a specific guest for it
I want to see the Echo fight breakdown, cos, whoo boy that's bad compared to the Netfix Daredevil.
I just wrote the rough draft

A true masterpiece but not something you want to watch again anytime soon
I think having a been a pro wrestling fan, having friends in the industry and Knowing stuff a bit better than others helped me review this
I watched this and Wonka on the same day... take a guess in which order.
I watched it twice within 2 weeks great movie!!
too sad for me
glad its good though! it really made for a great and entertaining video as always!
Hey, I love Kristen Dunce. LOL.
Speaking of come ups, you're reviews have been very fine.
Thank you. Practice makes perfect. Took me awhile to find the voice and gags I wanted to use but I feel it's all coming together now
Awesome review bro, sounds like a great film.
Thank you. Yeah it's real well written and acted just not gonna make you happy
@@DarkHourYT As long as it's a happier film than Foxcatcher I think I'm good lol.
10:25 who is the girl in yellow?
Sydney Sweeney she's known for her outstanding rack and showing it off on the show Euphoria but in Madam Web they are covering her up completely
great review!!!
Thank you it's hard to work comedy into reviews for films you like
IMO, The Wrestler is still the best pro-wrestling film but this is a damn close second.
It's a toss up honestly. I think The Wrestler has more rewatchability
i like this video. But dont mess with Bring It On.

Yeah they made a few creative decisions. I'm sure they had their reasons.
Tren Efron.
He's jacked
yea...to death.@@DarkHourYT

They had to make some concessions for run time unfortunately
