    Just a note - this is not a typical training session. Normally we would play a private creative game with a much more "hands on feedback" - it's a bit difficult to "coach" and play at the same time but that was the request for this training. Huge shoutout to SSSpaceInvadeRRR for letting me share this content with you all! He is such a great guy and I'm excited about the journey we are taking together. You might be seeing him some more 🙂

      Just a question from a basically brand new player to Fortnite - I moved over from Siege and am curious if you have advice on properly configuring the sensitivity and ADS for the game?
      With siege I was fine to run at 9% X/Y and 100% ADS, with my mouse running between 8k to 9k DPI - but in fortnite, it always feels like something is off with my aim, and I am struggling to figure it out.
      Mouse has been running at 7k DPI, with X/Y at 31%, Targeting Sensitivity at 100%, and Scope at 28.7% - Scope for almost all situations (minus when the gun is just iron sites) feels good, but the rest does not.
      Thank you so much for any suggestions!

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@chloemiqo8817 if you are running at 800 dpi (not 8k I hope lol) and 31% x and y, you have a cm/360 of 6.64 which is ridiculously fast. I use 800dpi and 6.1% x and y, which is 33.7 cm/360. Pros usually use around 28 to 35 cm/360 ratios. You are wayyyy too fast with your sensitivity. Which means you are only wrist aiming, which throws out a lot of precision and control. And if you are using 8,000 dpi then there is just no shot you can aim at all lol.

    I thoroughly enjoyed that. Yes, it is helpful. One approach might be to spectate the person you're coaching and have them tell you their thinking process and then you tell them yours so that we can see the difference.

      @blablablubblub5356 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah, that would be great - in duos you give the coachee much more directions - this dialogue based coaching would be super interesting!

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I've tried this but usually it results in them playing poorly because they are trying to process the feedback while surviving - so it's a bit hard. Playing while talking is a hard skill to learn - you usually play about 30% worse if you have to explain and think about other things while playing... so usually results in a lot of time in the lobby.

      what about going over a replay with the person post game? or adding that to the video after you play the game together? you can give tips on alternative course of action depending on the situation and where opponents actually were regardless of whether you saw them or not?

    Watching you explain game sense and positioning/mobility to players is huge in my opinion. I play with tons of new people and that is the content they need to get better. It would be great if you had different tiers of training to better help people understand where they are. Great content, as usual. Cheers! 🍻

      The Shinobi Clan master trainings kind of address that. We have novice, intermediate and advanced groups. We scrimmage, train drills together, run squads together, etc and learn from eachother a great deal. It's been awesome seeing people graduate from novice to intermediate to advanced.

    100% helpful, great video! It might helpful to show where you give 100% of the leadership reigns to the your mentee, after you’ve play a few rounds of you leading, let them call all the shots I terms of location drops, rotation and giving general direction.

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Yeah that's kind of what I did in a lot of instances, but didn't really show it - more so showed the "correction" or "how I do it" sort of pieces to speed the video up. Otherwise it would be very long - also results in many deaths. It's kind of hard to do while playing a live game cuz you take fire and then it's just me barking out what to do lol... instead of letting us die following novice strategy. A hard balance that I am figuring out with THIS type of training, which is uncommon. Normally we do mechanics / combat training that is a lot more hands on and feedback heavy.

      Your mini map shows your player icon as a white arrow. Your glider "locks out" and stays gliding at 100m high. So if you calculate your glider lock position with a perfect glide to your POI, then all you need to do is get your "arrow" on the mini map over that exact position and then dive straight down.
      I use small landmarks like the railroad track before the bridge at classy to get perfect glide ins to the POI.

    toby i mean no disrespect here, but for a paid coaching. this was basically just a paid carry with tiny moments of "control" my suggestion is that you watch via discord screen share or watch via fn option and give them options & ask them questions to learn for themselves. rather than just a duo where you carry them essentially.

      Yeah, it was difficult to pull off "coaching" in the heat of the moment where the decision is to either a) lose the game and try to teach a lesson or b) eliminate the enemy and win.
      This is not my typical coaching session but it was requested and I thought there were some fairly unique scenarios that may not necessarily be purely educational moments for him - but for viewers.
      There were a lot of other good questions and moments between us that weren't shown in this video because it wouldn't have as much of an impact to viewers. This was a video created to educate viewers mostly whether that's from my gameplay or my conversations with him.

      I get your point but as Toby says it was per my request. I’m relatively new to the game (and to gaming in general) and I specifically requested this format because there’s all these tiny little doubts and insecurities that pop up while playing in teams that I wanted to ask about while actually playing. I certainly got a lot out of this coaching session, there was a lot more in it then you can tell by watching this video.

    It was ok, but all I seen was you killing everyone. See if I'm paying that much I wont to be the one killing and being told what to do but the video was nice.

    Your content and tips are great but these are tough to watch because the game looks like it's running on a toaster.
