      @@sureitsjon7803he wants to play a shooter not a building simulator that happens to have guns once in a while, going from box fight to box fight. Build mode is dorky asf, piece control, triple edit, etc. I had someone explain to me what a triple edit was and I wanted to take a nap just hearing about it. Honestly watch any big build competition and the announcers sound liek the biggest dorks in the universe, it's too much crap I don't care about nor want to ever care about, cool if you like it but showing what the announcer says to anyone who doesn't like it just sounds so so incredibly goofy. I've been playing shooters since Quake 2, why stop that fun to go to a month long technical building school especially when I don't find it fun? Having fun comes first skill comes second, the month of learning is a hard sell and I'm not buying.
      P. S. I played build until season 4 and watch some build creators, haven't felt the urge, never will.

      @AppBelo ye, I feel this. I started in C1s5 but stopped because I didn't want to learn building, a skill I didn't have time or interest to learn. But then, I returned in C4S1/2 and played zero build.

    11:58- your comment about passive gameplay is dead on. Just that alone improved my gameplay and confidence. It also made matches feel faster. When I was too passive a 22min match felt like an hour.

    Inspiring progression! I def feel like I've been going through a plateau recently and these kinds of vids always make me examine my own gameplay and look for those AHA thats what I should have done moments instead of just being upset. Sometimes I think as players get better they lose the joy of finding improvement chunks because they already achieved their skill goal and forget that the fun in competitive games is improvement not winning.

      @BZman7 I think he's stuck at like 85% sniper headshot accuracy... I suppose I could understand the frustration 😆.
      But on a real note - Zarraxus is clearly a student of the game and has put so much work in to get to his cracked level. The best players are never satisfied with where they are at - its what makes them continue to improve.
      Zarraxus is just a rare gem because he's incredibly nice, chill and fun while being the scariest player you've ever witnessed.

    This was a great watch! Especially great to see a video about the same player as before and to see the progress.
    I've just realised something, the point of the advice you're giving at almost any moment is about reducing the luck element to the game. And I imagine that beyond improving aim / mechanical skill, that is one of the most important things to influence win rate of individual fights and complete games. If you win because you got lucky because a player wasn't behind that rock or behind that door, or because someone else missed their shots, that isn't a repeatable skill. Whereas that good decision making (along with hitting your shots of course) is going to push that win % up more reliably.

    Great video! Thanks for going over it and for the player submitting it! I’m fairly new to Fortnite. You mentioned the last player being a bot. Does that mean Fortnite has bots fill in or someone is using a bot somehow? I’ve heard others mention bots but I’m confused on this. Thanks!

    • @ericgonser1544
      @ericgonser1544 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Fortnite uses AI to fill the lobbies. All skill levels have bots. You can usually tell by the movement and they will hit one or two shots then miss everything for a while then hit a couple more. You can tell when two bots are fighting because they shoot at each other in close range but the fight takes forever to finish.

  • @Yoshi15550
    @Yoshi15550 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    "Be comfortable in combat." I refuse.🙂
    Jokes aside, with only a month left in the season, I've decided to do something differently than before, and that is to completely ignore attachments until Loot Island. It's so that I get more action early-game so that I'm not ice-cold by the time it matters, because there's no worse feeling than spending 600 gold only to get bodied in your first fight. It also helps with weapon rarity in the long run. Ever modded a green SMG, only for the next player to drop a purple one?
    Also, a piece of advice I'd like to offer to anyone who struggles with stamina management is to run, slide, let go of every directional input, then jump. From there, land into a slide and then jump. What this does is give you a fast slide that pauses all stamina drain and keeps most (if not all) of the speed. It's probably not the most effective, but you'll never ever catch me having less than 60% reserve stamina. Great video once again, Toby!

You're a great player, use the natural cover, ditch the shield it's yeilding your own progress. Thank you for the videos and well done on the vast improvement, I'm impressed.
    Edit: plus it's goin to be gone in less than 30 days so it's a good time to practice without it.

      Sprinting to cover or around a vorner right away will result in you taking less damage then swapping to shockwaces and tossing (i think at least) plus its a good habit to get in. You are right shockwaves can be used when caught off guard pretty easy.

    Toby I consider myself a tenacious controller player and I give my best playing with what I have, but do you think keyboard and mouse players will always have an advantage over controller players? I think in games like this where quick scanning a 3D environment and aiming is necessary, the controller lacks the precision of a mouse. If only controllers had built in touchpads it would make it a lot better imo :/
    Nice video!!

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can get extremely good on controller... a lot of pros play on controller and have no issue fighting m&k players. I would say there is only certain scenarios (mostly long range tracking) where controller is inferior. Controller aim assist (close range) is definitely a strength.
      So I wouldn't use the input device as an excuse, because I played controller for 20 years before this and I would say I could probably be doing very similar things if I was still on controller.

His pickaxe is really bad cause when he pulls its out it spins and has a lot of movement to it and players can see it. I quit using that pickaxe unless I am in creative I got sniped pulling it out i watched replay its from him seeing the movement of it. I thought my opponent was using wall hacks. • @TobyWanShinobi

    • @alenx5455
      @alenx5455 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TobyWanShinobi I don't have any specific ones out the top of my head to point out I just know I watch your live streams sometimes and sometimes you make moves that in hindsight are pretty s***** as you also point out yourself after, you have really good aim and movement that is not that far off to the very best players but game awareness/sense and decision making is the most obvious thing that you are far off from them, and its the same thing for me actually. I have really good aim and movement but like you I started fortnite not long ago in chapter 4. So im wondering if you think that this issue we both have is the one you need most time to really master or what is the reason for this? Because I see some pro players who play since the start of fortnite many many many years ago and they almost never if ever make bad moves like this, they might sometimes make sub optimal ones but very rarely, their sense and awareness and decision making is top notch and almost always make the best decisions in split second time and its the biggest thing that keeps me from getting closer to that level and I also see some similarities in your game, just wondering what your thought is about this? Also apologies Toby if my reply is long lmao

      @@alenx5455 from the perspective of a FN veteran I do see what your saying. But Toby doesn’t criticize to offend or to say he is better. His comments are more about learning and educating. The way I see them is, he is pointing out options to improve experience and longevity in a match. He does the same thing in his videos or live streams. He self criticizes very often when he makes a decision he shouldn’t have. If you pay attention to the top tier streamers, they don’t really point out their own errors. They very often blame the person who kills them and not what they did that lead up to their death.
      Sorry about the long winded reply lol.

    • @alenx5455
      @alenx5455 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@lordgrimoz6085 Oh for sure, agree with your point, and also agree that Toby is amazing, its just that I see him make more decision making mistakes than the top tier pros and I also see the same thing with miself, even tho the aim and movement is up there close to that level, and im not talking about mistakes during fights or when you die, but decisions on where to move or when to push or how to push or what to do in a certain situation etc... As I said I watch alot of streamers and I notice that the very top players are nearly flawless with decision making and game sense, and im just wondering if its the fact that me and toby are playing fortnite 1 year and they are playing for 5 or 6, or is there another reason for this, just trying to see what they best thing to do would be to close this gap, since its the biggest gap compared to them.

    • @lordgrimoz6085
      @lordgrimoz6085 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alenx5455 there isn’t an easy answer, but here is my opinion. Pro streamers average playtime is 6+ hours a day, and when you watch their vids you don’t see how many losses it took to get that vid they posted. It’s their job, so they can put in 6+ hours. They have the funds to get the best net, equipment, and time. I cannot count the amount of times I watched these Pro’s vids and thought OMG he/she is cracked, then they decide to post a live and they are not as good as I thought. I am not saying it’s all of them, a lot of them are crazy good. But if I was paid to play for 6+ hours a day, over a 5 year period. I better be better than the new guy with less time. Also like anything in life, there are always going to be a great few who easily adapt to a particular task than others. You will get there, it will take time and dedication.😎
