That scene with Powder and Ekko dancing is just beautiful, a happy moment he and we needed after the last episode. He's the GOAT for being able to give it up.
It's heartbreaking that no matter whether Powder becomes Jinx or not, she'll still end up losing someone she cares about. It's like the universe doesn't want her to be completely happy.
28:26 I thought the "Can we pretend like it's the first time?" line was because Powder and Ekko were already together in that timeline, before our Ekko got there. So it was "can we pretend" because for our Ekko, it was the first time, but for Powder it wasn't.
Heimerdinger: Since I’ve met you lad, I’ve truly lived. Ekko (s1): You can’t just give people what they need to survive. You have to give them what they need to live.
I Like the theory that in the other timeline the reason we don’t see Jayce is because this time his “dangerous materials” cause not only an explosion, but the death of a child. And from that event, he is immediately banished no trial or anything, and also vander actually sent that letter to silco causing all them to get back together and cause all the positive changes we see with Zaun.
Ekko and powder were together in that universe before, which is why before they kissedr he said lets pretend like its the ifirst time, bevause for him in that moment it is.
It seems that this episode shines as an origin story for Ekko to be “The Boy Savior” with his time ability and than we got Jayce with his journey being like Viktor. With him being damaged at the leg being broken, till patching up without patching up and the virus entering his system like Viktor gain within living in the Undergrounds. So he clearly understands the feeling of Viktor faced. 😢
That's why he ends up saying "You tried to fix everything you thought it was wrong with you, but there was nothing wrong with you Viktor, imperfections are what make us beatiful"
I think when the explosion kills a kid the punishment against Jayce is more severe. He gets banished, Victor destroys his research, Cait guards her parents tent. They live but don't impact that timeline.
The Timebomb bits are really only painful for Ekko and the viewers. It's strongly implied that Powder and HER Ekko are already a couple before OUR Ekko takes his place for a bit and then she gets HER Ekko back in the end. And she's smart enough she MUST have suspected. But she probably dismissed it as a crazy idea until she saw OUR Ekko.
The casual Silco jumpscare made me laugh so hard, the team behind Arcane knows exactly what they’re doing at all times 😂 Also imagine this Powder meeting Jinx 💀 I can’t even begin to guess how messy that would be 21:41 Amber speaking the TRUTH it is ALL PAIN
Everybody except Vi apparently. Also we don't know what happened to Jayce and Cupcake. It's not clear how Vi got caught in the explosion but Jayce and Cupcake were right on the other side of the door when it happened in season 1's timeline.
@@The_Game_Professor I’m guessing that the explosion was just more severe, or happened in a slightly different place this time. My guess is that Jayce either got caught in the explosion as well, or he went through with his suicide. I find it depressingly ironic that Powder’s Hextech mistake set Zaun down a doomed path in our timeline but saved it in this one, just because it happened under different circumstances… but this time it cost her Vi instead of Mylo and Claggor.
I assumed Jayce got arrested/banished in this timeline since his experiments actually had a body count...considering how well he took it when he was just kicked out of the academy he probably also did something that Victor wasn't there to interrupt
Can we talk about how Heimer' got to see POWDER, and not JINX. If I remember correctly he knew of Jinx in season 1, but I don't think they've met. This is Heimer's first time seeing our girl, but as POWDER. 😭
12:52 Jayce is having his dark knight rises moment this is where the Defender of Tomorrow is born. 22:10 The Jayce hate is insane the man Did what had to be done to prevent that horrible future. It wasn't an alternate universe it was the future.
On the job, explosion happened and Vi died in it. The death of a child brought light on how terrible the situation is in Zaun so it got better. Jayce either went to jail, exiled or most likely, killed himself. Cait, Victor and others are prolly alive but have conpletely different lives
I think Heimer's intention was to go with Ekko, but the machine started malfunctioning and ripping apart halfway through, so he made a split second decision to hop out and make adjustments to hold it together and get Ekko home, even if it meant sacrificing himself
10:40 - The explosion occurred in the same room as Powder and the rest, and they all survived. No reason for Jayce and Cait, who were protected by a sturdy door to die, either. Most of the explosion's force was absorbed by the building that was damaged and slowly collapsed as a result. In this alternate timeline Vi presumably jumped the grenade, so to speak, to protect the others, and the force was absorbed by her body, instead. But considering that Jayce almost took his own life when his life's work was lost in the main timeline, he's probably also dead in the alternate version. Besides losing his work, he'd feel incredibly guilty for causing the death of a child. 26:00 - Heimerdinger just had to reconnect a wire that had gotten loose, it wasn't any deeper than that, though he probably knew that he couldn't get back in with Ekko afterwards. He was probably either thrown into a yet another timeline by the anomaly, or else into his place of origin, the Bandle City, where Yordles regenerate in the League lore. 28:00 - The alternate universe Ekko was already together with Powder from the start. Our Ekko's weird behaviour caused them to break up temporarily, but then they got back together, so all the alternate Ekko had to worry about was a few days/weeks of amnesia.
I've seen other people share this idea about the outcomes in the alternate timeline ekko goes to where since the accident killed someone viktor never gained the interest in the research and never stole the notebook therefore letting jayce take his own life after he lost everything, and viktor himself probably died from his illness without the creation of the hexcore. It's a heartbreaking reality to know even in the world were it "went right" ( which feels wrong to say somehow) losing a loved one is unfortunately always a part of how it goes. Ps: also ekkos and powders relationship freaking broke me, seeing the fight on the bridge in our reality and then this just keeps breaking my heart, the only one that knows is Heimer and the way be buys ekko some extra time to have those experiences because he sees how fulfilled that relationship makes him and how it reawakens his drive to fight, that there's always something new to build if you have someone worth building it for....this show just loves playing with our feelings
9:09 So, my guess is that because Vi died on the job, either the council was more severe on Jayce, probably exiling him from Piltover altogether instead of just sending him home or Jayce felt so guilty he forsake his dream realizing how dangerous h3xtech could be. Although he dying is also a possibility. Also, because of the gem essentially killing Vi, Powder never dared to use "hextech" keeping the gems instead as a reminder of the tragedy and of Vi.
*Burst into tears* "I hate it here" -cut to Jayce on his pilgrimage- "I HATE IT HERE TOOOO" Hahahahah same girl. For me Arcane ended at Ekko and Jinx sitting next to eachother. I'm never going to recover. Edgerunner and now THIS are you KIDDING MEEEE
It is implied that Heimerdinger died but I think it was lest because we needed a "sacrifice" and more so that the cable Heimerdinger plugged in was that strong, but I wouldn't be surprised if a sacrifice or "Biomaterial" was needed. Regarding Heimerdinger's death: Yordles can't be killed permanently, canonically. The reason Heimerdinger says "Back in a wink" is because Heimer knows he'll be back eventually. Yordles are immortal and do not die from old age and if they "Die", they respawn in Bandle City, the Yordle dimension. Bandle City is confirmed to be outside time/dimensions (from Yuumi's book), so its all the same Bandle City. So eventually, Heimerdinger will come back (in the lore) and isn't DEAD dead, but he did "die/dematerialize". But Heimer will just respawn in Bandle City, then could make his way back to Piltover/Zaun. "Back in a wink" implies that eventually he'll be back eventually, since he mentions (or Jayce does) that time to Heimer moves so differently for him. A wink to him could mean years or decades lol, but yeah he's not permadead.
It could be that Jayce didn’t die in the alternate timeline. The reason the Council was lenient towards him was because it was a robbery and nobody got hurt. Here, Vi was the casualty. He must’ve been expelled for good. Viktor wouldn’t want anything to do with it since it killed a fellow Zaunite. Wait, or maybe Jayce did die but not because of the explosion…Viktor just didn’t interrupt his sewer slide attempt.
It's sad but I think this timeline will end up in the chaos and destruction that Jayce saw. We saw that Powder has all the hextech gemstones and we know she can create anything. Powder will probably create hextech instead of Jayce.
It's not clear that Jayce died in that timeline. He could have been imprisoned, banished, or simply decided to stop working on Hextech after a kid died because of it.
When it comes to the alternate timeline i strongly believe Victor and Jayce are dead, hextech not being invented means the duo didn't form their partnership leading to Victor eventually dying from his illness and Jayce very likely going through with his suicide attempt from season 1 without Victor stopping him
To me the saddest part was seeing Silco and Vander being brotherly together, because it means that even after Vander attempted to kill Silco and who knows what else in between that there was still the possibility to make amends and to fix their relationship. That Silco nearly killing Vander didn’t have to happen. I wonder if Vi being dead was part of the reason for their reconciliation or maybe Vander sent that letter to Silco.
Idk if Jayce or Caitlyn died but I have a feeling Jayce never got to create Hextech thanks to it killing a literal child. Also Caitlyn would most likely be working as an Enforcer with her family. That's my take but really anything could've happened in this alternate world.
ekko's time in this universe was pretty wholesome, and i still watched this whole episode through tears 🥲 the definition of "so good it HURTS" really really hurts. they all deserved to- get to grow up and to grow old together 🫠
