Actually, this was released in 1969. All that experimental avant-garde stuff was cutting edge in the late 1960s. This song still sounds fresh today. I'd have loved to hear more of what the daughter had to say about it. This was considered to be a supergroup at the time (a band created from already-established performers of their time) and became the prototype for heavy metal to follow. Listen to Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and tell me you can't hear the influence of this song.
Led Zeppelin is the most diverse style rock band you will ever hear. I can play you a bunch of songs and you will never realize it’s the same band. I guarantee you will like a bunch of their songs even if you didn’t like this. They play rock, blues, folk, funk and eastern style music. Try Fool In The Rain, Stairway To Heaven, Kashmir, Trampled Underfoot, The Rain Song and Dyer Maker. Every song I listed is in a different style. They are the best rock band of all time. You like drums ,John Bonham lays down the best drum grooves ever. All the rock groups you have listened to , readily admit Led Zeppelin is the most talented rock band ever.
Best rock band in history! Check out Since I've Been Lovin You, the studio version first. It's an amazing song. Do the studio version to get the feel for the song then the live version.
Your daughter gets it. They were totally sober on stage, in studio, in rehearsal. Never find a better combination of Drums, Vocals, Bass and Guitar anywhere.
Led Zeppelin remain the very greatest ever rock band to walk the planet. They were just simply, unbelievable and only the death of John Bonham stopped them from going on to even greater heights. His death spelt the end for Zeppelin as they could not imagine going on without him. Bonham was also regarded as probably the very best drummer of all time, he was certainly one of the most powerful. Robert plant is rated one of the best rock vocalists of all time. Jimmy Page is also rated among the best lead guitarists ever. And who could forget the bassist/keyboard of John Paul Jones, the bands quiet man who avoided the headlines as much as possible. Led Zeppelin will live forever in the memories of people my age and every tribute they have ever received is so deserved.
This was back in the late 60’s and psychedelic music was popular. The middle portion is not for everyone, even with me being a huge fan, I have to be in the right mood for it. Many radio stations didn’t feel like the middle portion was suitable for the airwaves and edited out that part for radio. Even Atlantic Records agreed, to some extent, they soon released an edited single. If you are not a fan of psychedelic music, this is a poor choice to start your Led Zeppelin experience with. Their sound was always changing and evolving over the years. They started out mostly as a hard edge blues sound and evolved into hard rock. As time went on, the sound was just Led Zeppelin, with influences from funk, samba, reggae, middle eastern, Nordic, dance, and even country music. Many people on the comments are suggesting live versions, but I think that Led Zeppelin’s best work is their studio work. They were very creative in how they recorded and mixed the albums. The live versions are good, but just not the same. Besides, if you weren’t a fan of this song, you probably wouldn’t like some of the long fills they used while playing live. BTW, for a person that isn’t a fan, you seem to be “jamming” a lot during the song.
The very beginning of the 'freak out' part...thats the best part for me. Those awesome cymbal crashes that Bonham does...I still get goosebumps after 40 years of listening to the song on heavy rotation!

Thanks for the reaction, though (imo) this isn't the best they have to offer. Try "Since I've Been Loving You" from their live show at Madison Square Garden -- th-cam.com/video/1gHlbHtdVLU/w-d-xo.html
They were a 70s powerhouse band. Jimmy Paige was a guitar monster, but there so many of them (Jeff Beck, Alan Collins, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, Joe Walsh and many others). John Bonham and Neil Peart (Rush) and Phil Collins were awesome drummers. Robert Plant's vocals were definitely unique, as well. It's great that some of these now old songs are being revived in reaction videos like these. Great, honest reaction!
Try not to pause so frequently. Two or three (for a song of this length) pauses should be sufficient in order to bypass copyright infringement. If you want to see an actual live video of theirs, check out the following. *Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven* *(Live):* th-cam.com/video/qgGpFDtm2pk/w-d-xo.html
Love the reaction, definitely my favourite band of all time. Some other great songs of theirs are “Hey, Hey what can I do”, “How many more times”, “Since I’ve Been Loving you”, “All my love”, and “Fool in the rain”. So many more, just picking off the top of my head🤣
You sure were groovin' a lot for a guy that's "not a fan." Zeppelin often takes you for a musical journey. I suggest you go for a ride with them. Why not actually check out a live performance. Like In My Time of Dying at the Royal Albert Hall. It's their longest song... but it don't feel that way. th-cam.com/video/QuABqrvhLf0/w-d-xo.html
You really should be using headphones when doing these reactions. Its a different experience. Do "Stairway to heaven" by Led Zeppelin. If you don't appreciate that song, there is no help for you.
These new breed of "reacters " have a common problem: 1- They don't listen these work of art songs with headphones 2- You are supposed to LISTEN to the song not to WATCH a video (crappy songs need video to complement/enhancement it) 3- Some bands before the 90's made records and on those records they layout their songs in a certain sequence, so they make more sense if you listen in that order.
I can only imagine my 16 year old daughter watching this with me. This was great. I agree with you. These guys was flying, baby. But it worked out great..for them and us fans.
Try “When the Levee Breaks”. I’ve always thought Whole Lotta Love is a little too strange of a song for a first time listener, what with that psychedelic middle break-that’s actually meant to be sex in sonic form. Try Levee though.

They're all over 70. This video is over 50 years old!
You interpreted that "backdoor man" lyric in the most innocent way...
The man's daughter is RIGHT THERE!!! He can't be saying what it really is right in front of her...
@@ArachnidZero I don't think he was feigning innocence. Judging by their individual reactions, I think daughter knows but dad doesn't. He was pretty convinced of his own interpretation nd she was a little surprised at his naivety.
Somebody else commented above: "Once upon a time in days of old back door man meant a cheater . Like chicks would call their boyfriends daddy and old man . He ain't talkin' about anal . Context is something allot of people today grapple with on all topics it seems . This song was written by a blues man named WIllie Dixon who was born in 1915 and there is no way he was talking about that."
Greatest band ever. Dazed and Confused. The Lemon Song.
You guys rock, Edgar Winter Frankenstein 1973 live😎👍 sorry bout your leather jacket 😖
Watched your later reviews before this one x and man did your opinion change of them xxx so glad you took the time to learn more about the band and their songs
This is considered one of the greatest bands ever and in the top 3 greatest bands of all time ...you just don't know their music and for you to assume they are all high after one song....bye bye
I think he might have been trying to get at the psychedelic sound of the middle part... and out came high music. Lol. Makes me wonder what saints he listens to. Plus, can a father reacting with his daughter actually approve of this song? ;)
To be fair they probably were all high as fuck.
@@davidwilkinson8431 On tour they partied like crazy but in the studio they were pretty serious and very proffesional...do you think Jimmy Page could of written, play the guitar like he did and produce every single album by LZ if he was high all the time? I don't think so...very proffesional in the studio but on the road they were wild!
@@bnd4ever48 This was a live version.
@@davidwilkinson8431 this is not a live version bro...somebody put that video together with clips of live shows...this is the studio version that came out in 1969
Crazy watching all your zep reactions and coming to this one hearing you say you're not a fan.... they gotcha though!!! 🐐
Thanks for the reaction, though (imo) this isn't the best they have to offer. Try "Since I've Been Loving You" from their live show at Madison Square Garden -- th-cam.com/video/1gHlbHtdVLU/w-d-xo.html
Best band in the world. Combined blues and rock and created a whole new genre.
Try the live version 1973. Since I've been loving you
They were a 70s powerhouse band.
Do yourselves a favour and listen to "Since I've Been Loving You" - live at Madison Square Gardens.
This is Led Zeppelin... Gods
This is from the 60's the word you're looking for is "psychedelic"
Try not to pause so frequently. Two or three (for a song of this length) pauses should be sufficient in order to bypass copyright infringement. If you want to see an actual live video of theirs, check out the following.
*Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven* *(Live):* th-cam.com/video/qgGpFDtm2pk/w-d-xo.html
Pre-video days, young man! 😄
For clarification....I'm My Time Of Dying, live from Earl's Court in London, May, 1975.
That song didn't exist yet when they played the Albert Hall.
@@MJEvermore853 Thanks!
@@PeterTea 😊👍
80's 😂 so young 🥰 older than that!
You seem to care more about hair than lyrics.
It was the 70's! Everyone was High! Also...They are the best Rock Band EVER!
Legends
Guys, u don't realize it but you are watching they greatest rock drummer of all time... And the greatest guitarists of all time!
You really should be using headphones when doing these reactions. Its a different experience. Do "Stairway to heaven" by Led Zeppelin. If you don't appreciate that song, there is no help for you.
My band plays this song, but the middle section we've replaced with the first half of, When the Levee Breaks. 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥
Not the best Zeppelin song to start on. You need to get a feel for it first.
Not the worst to start on either. It was the first I ever heard.
Ooof. Love your initial reaction....evolution of the reaction video community!!
Thank you for your content. I'll be by to your Patreon for sure.
yeah, some kind of psychedelics were very likely involved
Only band that all 4 members are in the top 10 greatest in their particular instrument....300 million records sold says it all!! Greatest band ever!!
These new breed of "reacters " have a common problem:
1- They don't listen these work of art songs with headphones
2- You are supposed to LISTEN to the song not to WATCH a video (crappy songs need video to complement/enhancement it)
3- Some bands before the 90's made records and on those records they layout their songs in a certain sequence, so they make more sense if you listen in that order.
This band is the best in my lifetime 50 years of smoking tunes. I am 62 and this is the best band ever!
Remember, sex, drugs and rock and roll.
This was the 70s! This is the best band there ever was! You should see this live! Jimmy Page...best guitarist there ever was!
1969.
The GOATS...SIMPLY THE BEST Rock&Blues band EVER! Dude it’s 70ish. That John Bonham aka Bonzo on the drumsone of the best around. You have to do the 1973 Madison Square Garden concert!
its fine we appreciate anything Zeppelin.....shrooms?...its 1969
Thank you for discovering Led Zeppelin, you guys really know great talent!!
Since I been loving you
