Bloody hell...I just got my wife's approval for the Mini 4 Pro at $1500 and now you're showing me a whole nuther flying experience that looks totally rad! Great videos and I love Calgary! I'm in Medicine Hat so I can appreciate the beautiful scenery!
I am stuck with same situation here in Slovakia 😂. At least we agreed to share the dron/cost with 2 other neighbours so might get away easier with extra spent on googles and controler ;-)
If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, consider getting a refurbished mini 4 pro from DJI. I've heard great things about their refurbished units, and they are often half the price.
Just got Goggles Integra and RC Motion 2 controller for my Mavic 3 Pro (only 2 months old). Appreciate the info! Watching our video was a lot more fun than reading the pdf manual, Happy Flying!
This is also the best learning video i have found on RC Motion2. I saw this video last month before getting the drone and now i was trying to find you back!!! Took me 3 hrs to find this video 😢
I really appreciate that you looked so hard to find this video, but it's a bit disappointing that it was so hard for you to find. Thanks again for putting in the effort 👍
Very good demonstration and explanation of the features. Sure makes me want a Mini 4 pro and the goggles and motion controller! I appreciate your time making this video! Tom
Loved it ! That was a great view of YYC. I used to take my Phantom 2 to Canmore & Banff. I might just have to pick up this package. FPV is so much easier now than it was 15 years ago.
Wow! I'm thinking about getting this setup, and your video explained everything that I need to know in order to get started. Next thing on my list: buy this stuff. Next thing after that: Practice, practice, practice. Thanks for making such a wonderful video.
I'm having trouble calibrating the goggles 2. It shows me to place them on a level surface in 4 orientations but always ends in a failure to calibrate. Any suggestions?
I have the goggles integra, but had never tried calibrating them before. I just gave it a try and it failed the first time, but the second time it worked. I also had to place them in 6 orientations. I even tried it a third time and it worked, and that time I placed the goggles so they appeared to me the same way they looked on the screen and I kind of used the antennas as a reference.
You just convinced me to buy the goggles and joystick thingy for my mini 4 pro. I use it for photogrammetry, and for that the normal RC2 is fine, but this would let me do scouting and have some fun. Love it.
Dang, man that was awesome.... I've never done any fpv flying so I'm sure it takes some getting used to... I'd probably get dizzy and end up falling over or something... haha Great video, brother!
when I recently learned that I can control my Mini4Pro with the motion controller and headset I almost pulled the trigger and bought those devices. Then I realized for just a bit more I could also get the Avata2 and fly them both with those controllers, I'll also save on $ crashing the Mini4 and destroying propellers, so I bought the whole set. I knew I'd buy the Avata2 eventually, and that would cost more in total. And I'm glad I did, flying the Avata is so much fun, flew it around the inside of my house and the outside today, so easy to control with the motion controller, once you get the hang of it. Maybe we'll eventually be able to fly the Avata with the RC2 controller too? Then just pack this and that and the thing over there depending on what flight I want to do. Fun stuff!
That's awesome, glad you're enjoying it. And I totally think you made the right decision. The Avata2 gives you a totally different experience, and you have the option to fly the mini 4 pro with the goggles.
I’m sure my drone, controller, and googles 3 are connected but seems as though when I push the joystick up to lift it’s spinning at the same time and descending with a slow spin, what gives?? Other than that I love it!! Will take a little getting used to but this video is great!!
Great to hear, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! As for your question, I'm not 100% sure, but I think the drone will still respond to tilting the controller when you're using the joystick. So that may cause it to rotate even if you're just flying straight up or down.
If you haven't already, try putting the drone goggles and motion controller into pairing mode all together by holding the power button on each of them until they go into pairing mode. I find that works most of the time. Otherwise I would try using the DJI Fly app.
@@CreateandKaptivate yes that definitely worked, after you paired the motion controller with the drone, I see you are using the motion controller to control the drone with the googles resting on your forehead, are those googles on or off while you’re using the motion controller? I’m starting to think it’s the motion controller? the RC2 has no issues, thanks for your replies! :)
Haha that's awesome! And if you're thinking about getting the Mini 4 Pro, I think that's a good choice. It's less restricted because of the weight and yet it does a great job.
@@CreateandKaptivate thanks. I think that Mini 4 pro is definitely the one to get. But still undecided about this whole idea of getting a drone. Worried about all the rules and regulations. I was thinking about taking one to Europe with us on our 3 months trip next summer… maybe we should get together for coffee someday and discuss a few things?
Yeah, the rules and regulations are definitely a concerning factor. And if you are travelling, say to Europe, the rules there would have to be taken into consideration.
Mark...SUPERB JOB showing the use of goggles with the M4P! Thanks very much. I'm curious regarding the use of goggles with a drone...under FAA Part 107 I'm required to maintain continuous visual line-of-sight with my drone, and I cannot rely on the video presentation on my controller to accomplish that. How do the authorities view the use of goggles??? Any insights would be appreciated.
Hey thanks for the comment. I think the rule is, you are supposed to have a spotter. Where I'm at, the rules for micro drones are fairly relaxed, but I think ultimately you are still supposed to have a spotter.
That's great, I'm glad you found it informative. To record the screen you have to go into the main menu, then camera, then advanced camera settings and in here you can turn on the screen record and switch record to both (aircraft and goggles) and the screen recording will be saved to the goggles SD card.
Hi. Nice video. Did you notice the drone oscillating in pitch axis some times? I’m having this issue with my m4p when I use motion 2 and goggles 2. Watch your video in 10:46 to hear the very characteristic sound of this issue
Yes, I have noticed that. I wonder if it is just something that happens when using the motion controller? I have flown my m4p with the goggles 3 and rc2 controller and don't recall having that issue. It's something I'll have to try out and see if there is actually a difference.
@@CreateandKaptivate In my case it happens on every single flight using motion controller 2 and goggles 2. Very annoying and turns out that the battery life decreases a lot due the oscillations. You are right… with the RC2 I could not see the same issue and it seams to fly well. I managed to reproduce the problem with motion controller 2 just by swinging up and down (I can reproduce it as many time as I want). Any time I do it, the drone oscillates like it’s going to fail soon. Could you please make a video about that? This issue is happening for many users and most think that it is normal… See the topic about it "Mini 4 pro oscillating" in DJI forum.
I didn't really notice this too much before. But now that you mentioned it, and I'm aware of it, I'll have to test it out. Thanks for sharing your experience.
This was a very interesting video. I started off flying non DJI FPV drones and have now bought a mini 4 pro. The good thing is the goggles and motion controller should work with DJIs FPV drones too. I think I will stick to my FPV drones for this type of flying though and keep the mini 4 for exploring and filming and photography. Normal FPV drones aren't great for exploring because the camera angle is fixed. If I want to look down at something I have to fly forward, sometimes pretty fast, or dive, so in those situations the mini 4 would be better since you can hover in place and just have a look around. FPV drones definitely have their uses but slow flight or photography isn't really one of them. If I get the chance I would try the googles and motion controller but I really don't mind using sticks and if I really wanted to use goggles I could always use the HDMI output on the RC2 and connect it to my analogue goggles.
Yeah I agree, FPV drones are more suitable for this type of flying, but it was actually pretty fun to try out with the mini 4. Now being able to fly the mini 4 with the RC controller and goggles could be good for bright days when it's hard to see the screen.
Hi Mark, thanx for a great video! What distance could you fly the drone from you with the goggles and motions controller ? Would it be the same as with the RC2 ? Thank you
I really could say for sure, because I haven't tested the range with this setup. From my experience, in most cases I think the range would be fairly similar.
Is there a spectator feature whereby a second person can use the goggles with head tracking (gimbal movement) but the pilot still controls the drone movement?
There is supposed to be a feature that allows you to broadcast the screen display to a second set of goggles, but that would be view only. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be getting a second set of goggles in the next few days and will be trying it out.
In this video I was using the goggles integra. Both the goggles 2 and goggles integra are great goggles, but if you require glasses the goggles 2 would be better since the lenses are adjustable. If you don't care about that the goggles integra have the battery built into the head strap where as the goggles 2 just h a plug in for a battery pack. Just depends what's more important to you.
Thanks that was a great video, very helpful, just a quick question. If you are only using the goggles with the Mini 4 Pro and you bind them them does it mean i have to rebind the RC 2 controller when I next want to fly using that.
If you only pair the goggles to the Mini 4 Pro, then your RC2 will automatically connect the next time the drone and controller are powered up together. Doing that you get the warning about flying with an unbound device and after 5 times you have to just power up the drone and RC2 together to reset the counter. Now if you actually want to bind the goggles to the Mini 4 Pro, which I haven't done, I believe you have to unbind the RC2, in order to bind the goggles.
My dad is getting older and was thinking this is something I could share with him that I'm sure he has never done. Is there a way to see the video inside the goggles and say a phone so I can steer and her can view?
Yes you can, I'm not sure if there's a way to connect with Bluetooth, but it's super simple with a USB cable. You'll need to have the DJI Fly app on the phone, and when you power everything up and it connects, you can then use a standard USB cable to connect the goggles to the phone. Once you've connected the goggles to the phone, the DJI Fly app should start automatically. And once the DJI Fly app is started, if it doesn't go straight to the goggles view, tap on Go Fly and now you'll see the same display on the phone that you see in the goggles.
I know the googles also work with the mini 3 pro, and the air 3 I believe. But you are not able to use the RC2 when using the googles, that would be a nice option to have.
Which one you are using in this video goggles 2 or integra didnt mention? Also which one if you would choose? Also can you use the goggles with Rc controller ?
I know you can use the goggles 3 with the RC controller, but I'm not sure if that's available with goggles 2 or integra. I tried it with my goggles integra back when the goggle 3 first came out and it didn't work at that time.
Flying the with the motion controller, I think the experience is very similar between the mini 4 pro and the avata2. Now if you have the FPV controller, flying the avata2 in manual mode is a very different experience. The avata2 is more protected with the prop guards and stuff, but the mini 4 pro has a 3 axis gimbal which I think provides better stabilization over electronic stabilization.
I just got the mini 4 pro fly more combo plus. Can you make a video on how to explain to your wife that I now need fpv goggles and controller that looks like I'm flying a fighter jet.😂 Awesome video.
Nice to see video's from Calgary! (I also live here). Always seems more interesting when it is your own hometown. I am looking at the Integra goggles right now and just deciding on what to get and when. Only fly in the ointment is the wife. She thinks it is not a good use of money - LOL.
Haha that's a familiar story, the wife doesn't always see why we NEED this stuff. 😂 I really like my Integra goggles, but one thing to consider, is there is a new Avata2 and Goggles3 coming out...I'm not sure when, but from what I've seen those goggles will be a big upgrade from the Goggles2 or Integra.
@@CreateandKaptivateI found a link taking about the new goggles etc. It is a technical link dealing with frequencies etc. and filings. (FTC filing). I have a Mini Pro 3 by the way. I am going to stay in the sub 250 class to make it easier where I can fly etc. Tried to paste the link in but it then disappears from the comments.
I've seen that video you are referring to, that's actually where I learnt about the specs for the new goggles. But if you have the mini 3 pro then you would need to stick with the goggles2 or integra.
There are some advantages of using the motion controller and goggles with the Mini 4 Pro over the Avata like much longer flight time and obstacle avoidance. The head tracking really got to me at first and I was minutes before ordering these products, but then I heard that obstacle avoidance is switched off during head tracking. That killed the idea of buying this. Flying forward while looking behind the drone would leave you open to flying straight into a tree or structure.
Yeah, I'm not sure why that is. You really do need to be careful, but I feel more aware of my surroundings when using head tracking because I can look around.
In the manual it says if the aircraft supports Explore Mode and if it's turned on the FN dial (as they refer to it in the manual) can be used to adjust the camera zoom, but I don't really know what explore mode is, and haven't had a chance to check it out to see if there is a way to do it. With the FN dial You can also control the gimbal tilt but I haven't tested that out either.
Smoother flying 😂This was all my first time trying this out, so I'm sure with a bit of flying time you could figure out how to avoid that. Or a least minimize it.
You're welcome! And to answer your question, the RC controller isn't able to be paired with the goggles (goggles2 or integra), maybe that will change in the future, but right now you're stuck using the motion controller with the goggles.
That's a good question, and I really don't know the answer. I know with headtracking and sport mode obstacle avoidance is not active, but the downward sensors may still prevent you from flying into the ground.
I can't really say for sure, because I haven't tested the range using this setup. From my experience you still get good range with the motion controller 2, as long as you have a decent line of sight. Ultimately I would think the RC2 would get better range and penetration because it has external antennas.
I see there is a motion controller 2 and a motion controller 3? What is best controller, and why is the motion controller 3 only $99 while 2 is priced over $200? Also as far as goggles, I see they offer several choices what is best goggles for my just arriving 4 pro? Thanks in advance! Dang, this hobby been getting costly, love it! This is my third drone in the past four years.....Love em! Been wanting to try the goggles out. Just have the questions above confused on controller 2 vs 3?
The motion controller 3 and the goggles 3 are the latest ones that came out with the Avata2, and the latest firmware update allows you to use those with the mini 4 pro. Currently I have the goggles integra with the motion controller 2 and I think they work great, the goggles2 are similar but the 2 goggles offer different features. Really it comes down to personal preference, the goggles3 and motion controller 3 are the latest but the goggles2, goggles integra and motion controller2 work great as well.
Can you set the action track on Mini 4 Pro using goggles 2 and Motion Controller 2?. Also, could you rotate the camera gimbal while flying with Motion Controller? I use only the Motion Controller to fly my Avata
Those are both good questions. I don't think the tracking functions are available, or at least I don't know of a way to turn them on. But as far as the gimbal, you can rotate it up and down using the scroll wheel on the controller, you just have to press it in while you're scrolling. Or you could turn on head tracking and raise and lower the gimbal by looking up and down.
Where is the footage stored, pls, on the sd card or in the googles? it seems i can't take a picture now without the SD card in the gogles even if there is an SD card in the drone itself. Am I right, pls? Also by raising and lowering the controller, it does not fly up or down, I need to use the joystick, is it correct too, pls? Many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From my experience the footage captured by the drone camera is stored on the drone sd card and the goggles sd card would store any screen recording. You can fly straight up and down using the joystick or by tilting the controller forward or backward and pulling the trigger the drone will fly forward and up or down depending on which way the controller is tilted.
Yes, if you just pair the goggles like I was doing. When you want to go back to the RC controller, you really don't have to do anything, just power up the controller and the drone and they will connect.
Hi, just again question, please, how to fly forward and up and at the same time to tilt the gimbal, witj motion controller,it looks liek its not possible as Fn dial is design to change the settings not to move the camera down or up, am I right?
You may not be able to adjust the gimbal using the FN Dial while in flight. Only before takeoff, and during RTH and landing. If you press and hold the FN Dial in while you move it, it will tilt the gimbal up or down, but not while in flight, at least according to the manual. If there's no way to do it using the controller, head tracking will allow you to adjust the gimbal during flight.
Hi there. I'm looking to buy a drone about that size that has a reliable "carry and release" system (or modification) available for it. (in company, or 3rd party... doesn't matter) Only needs to carry the weight of a fish hook and some line. Any information is greatly appreciated.
I don't have much experience with payloads on my drones, so I probably can't give you good advice on that. However, I have seen videos on TH-cam where people are doing exactly what you are talking about, those videos may have more information on what would be required.
Hey, great post! One question I would have is: While Flying FPV don’t you have to have a visual observer with you to keep the “line of sight” requirement per the FAA, Part 107, and even as a recreational flyer? Because the FPV doesn’t allow you the peripheral view of people, vehicles, other aircraft, etc. Thanks…
@@CreateandKaptivate Oh, sorry, forgot, that’s a US thing…that makes a huge difference for me trying it. I can afford the goggles/controller, just fly less aggressively than shown here like the Avata is made better for. Thanks.
Hello, I have a simple question, I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, connected to a pair of DJI Goggles and controlled by DJI motion 2, can it be controlled instead of DJI motion with a DJI Fpv 2 controller?
Thanks very much for this very interesting and comprehensive video. I've been just trying out the M4P with the Goggles. Not as easy with it as you are. Have to learn against something or feel like I'll fall over. 🥴. I agree with you about the head tracking but i find it much harder to get used to. When flying without head tracking the little circle stays in the center and shows you directly where you're flying but that doesn't seem to be the case with head tracking. As an example, at one point you seemed to be turning to the left and tilting down but the little circle was to the far right and near the top. How can you tell which way you're actually going? Is it showing you the reverse of what you're actually doing?
Flying with the goggles does take some getting use to, I almost fell over a few times when I was first trying it out. And I totally agree with what you said about the head tracking, I find it hard to tell what direction I'm heading at times because the circle is way off to the side. This is all fairly new to me so I need a bit more flight time to really get it all figured out. But I think if you look far enough to the left or right the circle will end up at the side of the screen, and really if you are not rotating the controller left or right the drone should continue to fly straight. I haven't proven that yet, but I will be experimenting with it more. Thanks for the comment!
Anyone know how to rotate the camera 90º with only the RC Motion 3 + Goggles 3? Feel like I've looked at every menu, hit every button and cannot figure out how to turn the camera to get vert or horiz.
Hey bro, if the mini pro 4 comes with an RC remote do you think it's worth spending the extra money on the motion controller? Thanks for the video and your thoughts.
If you want to fly the mini 4 pro with the goggles, you would need the motion controller, the RC remote doesn't work with the goggles. If you have the goggles, in my opinion it's worth getting the motion controller. I didn't have either, but I decided to buy the avata which then came with the goggles and motion controller.
@@CreateandKaptivate Thank you so much for leaving this comment and helping me. I wanted to get the avata also but due to the weight and my user case I thought it would just be easier to get the mini. Thank you again for your input! It is so valuable 🙏
It's unfortunate the obstiacle avoidence gets disabled.. Why? TO me, when using head tacking the obsticle avoidence MAKES SENSE to have. TO make you aware that you're not looking at what you're about to fly into.
Hi, many thbnaks for this, is it poossible with motion contr to do the move combination like with RC2 ,for inst left and spin at the same time like to go arround the castle tower?
You can do an orbit with the motion controller, but from my experience it's hard to get a nice smooth shot. Unlike the RC2 where you have direct control of the lateral motion and the rotation, with the motion controller you're basically trying to do it using forward motion and rotation.
Got my Goggles and Motion Controller 2 and tried it out. My first impression; its fun, but will take quite a bit of training before gaining proficiency! 😅
Yeah, it's totally different experience, and definitely takes a bit of getting use to. But after a few flights I started to get quite comfortable and then it's so much fun because you can just point somewhere and go there.
Can you still use the gimbal fpv mode if you don't use the goggles and motion 2 controller? I mean is it possible to get the horizon banking effect if you just use the RC2?
Yes you can, on the RC2 controller if you go into the main menu by tapping on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the screen and go into Control and scroll down you will see Gimbal Mode, an here you can switch it to FPV mode.
Up until just recently I would have said no, but now with the new goggles 3 you are able to fly with the goggles using the rc2 or rc-n2 controllers. I just happen to be working up a video about that.
I haven't been able to test it because I don't have 2 sets of Goggles 3 but from what I understand you would have to go into the Transmission menu on one set of goggles and turn on Broadcasting. Then go into the Transmission menu on the second set of goggles and select audience and then from there I think you should be able to see and select the goggles that are broadcasting. I think it should work the same for the mini 4 pro or the avata2 but I haven't tried it.
@@CreateandKaptivate That's exactly how it works with the avata 2. We tried it. With the mini4pro the spectator option doesn't appear. I tried everything twice with support, each time for an hour. It's not intended. The support was surprised themselves. A bit of a shame for a product that is advertised as compatible.
Mark I hoping you could help me, can those googles be used without that motion controller? I suspect yes but I don’t want to invest in the goggles if I have to use the joystick
@@CreateandKaptivate thank you Mark I appreciate it, it’s frustrating that HDMI was not included on the newest controller, but is on my original controller which allowed my use of Glyphs 🙃 keep those awesome videos coming
Yeah the rule says you must keep visual line of sight, and it can't be a video feed. So if you're flying with goggles, you essentially need a spotter. I kinda get it, but most of the time I can see my surroundings better than my spotter.
I can’t seem to get the motion 2 controller to pair to the goggles for updating. It keeps timing out. I’m about to return the motion controller 2 back to the store. Any ideas? This is ridiculous
I usually use the DJI fly app on my phone connected to my goggles via USB to get everything connected. Typically that way if there are firmware updates required it will give me the option to update. By selecting Connection from the app you can follow the steps to connect everything. If something doesn't connect initially there is usually blue text at the bottom of the screen (trouble connecting with... or something like that) you can click on that which gives you more instruction on pairing. Not sure if any of that helps.
With this firmware update you are only able to use the motion controller 2 when using the goggles. So no RC controller, at least for now, but it would be nice to have that option.
Not through the controller, I don't think. But you can connect your phone to the goggles and view the goggle display on the phone. The downside to that, is I don't think you can connect it wireless.
A great video as always but could you please please please as the first TH-camr worldwide measure the latency between the goggles Integra and Mini 4 pro? Is it 40 milliseconds like the Avata or 150 milliseconds like to the rc Controller?
Off the top of my head I don't know how I would measure that, or if I have the equipment required. I program industrial automation systems for a living, so it's a question I'm familiar with. Something to think about🤔
@@CreateandKaptivate the most easy way is uesing a gopro in 240fps mode and pointing it half at the goggles screen so the gopro can record what is seen in the googles screen. Than place the mini 4 next to the goggles so the gopro can record the goggles screen and the mini 4 pro at the same time. Than place something in front of the mini 4 pro eg. Led flashlight or smartphone with a timer or smartphone flashing mtiple times. Than hit record at the gopro, fash the flashlight. Look at the footage in a video editor. Count the frames between the flashlight first appearing in front if the mini 4 and than finally appearing in the goggles screen. Every frame is 4ms.i would be forever greatful
@@CreateandKaptivate Chris Rosser is explaining his method in this video it is the same principle but a bit more complex but he has a nice picture of the method at 0:56 th-cam.com/video/RdzTcvRw8LY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-NDwS2PxRF4a8E-s
That's quite interesting, and I do have the electronics components required. I'd have to look into the camera options but with a gopro at 240 fps that would be a little over 4ms per frame so you should be able to measure it.
Do you have to connect to the Fly app (ios) to get the motors to start? I was told you have to have a GPS signal (from iPhone) so you don't have Remote ID error. I am getting a Remote ID error with just the drone, goggles and remote motion control 2 linked?
You might have to connect with the Fly app. But I'm not 100% sure about that, because where I'm at we don't have remote ID. I assume it would be the same procedure you would use to fly something like the Avata. 🤔
So can you only use the joystick when using the goggles? Or can you also use the original controller with the goggles? Can I use the fpv controller with the goggles? So many questions.
With this firmware update, it only allows you to fly with the motion controller when using the goggles, so no RC2, and no FPV remote controller. Maybe they'll give us more options down the road?
Was it maybe a different drone? For the mini 4 pro and the air 3 the the firmware release notes state that "When used with the goggles, only the DJI RC motion 2 is supported for flight control, other remote controllers cannot be used to control the aircraft"
@@CreateandKaptivate yes the avata drone. He used goggles and a dji controller that looked like a gaming controller. If it’s not possible with the mini 4 pro I really hope it will in the future
@@iWadd Yeah me too! That other controller you mentioned is the Remote Controller 2, it was originally for the DJI FPV but you can use it with any O3 air unit including the Avata
No, it's not a problem. I get that warning because my RC2 is the bound controller, and I would actually have to unbind it from my Mini 4 Pro to bind the goggles. But instead you can just pair the goggles and you're able to use them as an unbound device. The only downside is you're limited to flying 5 times with an unbound device, but once those 5 times are up if you just power up the drone and the bound controller and allow them to connect then you're 5 times are reset.
Great video Thanks, Now a couple questions... could you demo more about the menu structure, ie SD card formatting, and all those other bits and pieces that no one seems to be covering. Even though you say that we should be used to it, I have yet to get the screen record to work. I still need a good comprehensive all-settings video to go back to for refreshers. Can you use the goggles with the Mini Pro controller instead of the hand controller? I just got my goggles and hand controller this morning and have tried it out in the living room for a bit while I charged it up. The binding process is a pain to unbind the hand controller and the back to the RC controller. That is a pain point that I hope DJI addresses in the future. Once again great video. I also just subbed to your channel as I like the format of your videos.
Thanks for the comment...in future videos I will include more about the different settings. As far as the screen recording goes, if you go to that main menu in the goggles and select settings and go to camera and then advanced camera settings, here you can setup different recording options and enable screen recording. And you will need to have an SD card in the goggles.
As far as I know the camera is always in landscape mode, or in the horizontal position when using the goggles. I haven't seen a setting to switch it to vertical, possibly it wouldn't work well with the goggles display.
Bloody hell...I just got my wife's approval for the Mini 4 Pro at $1500 and now you're showing me a whole nuther flying experience that looks totally rad! Great videos and I love Calgary! I'm in Medicine Hat so I can appreciate the beautiful scenery!

There are much cheaper options for digital FPV, like Nazgul5 HD 6S.
Sure but the mini pro 4 does not need any registration:) the nazgul is 610 gr !
Loved it ! That was a great view of YYC. I used to take my Phantom 2 to Canmore & Banff. I might just have to pick up this package. FPV is so much easier now than it was 15 years ago.
Haha yeah, the technology has come a long way since the days of the Phantom 2. Thanks for the comment!
Amazing tutorial mate! Entertaining and straight to the point, thank you!

Great video! Can you shoot in native vertical video mode with these goggles?
Not that I know of, I may have missed it, but I didn't see an option for that.
Great Video!! Just all I wanted to know about the goggles and motion controler 2

Great video, I'm an newby who has bought this for scenery footage and business use, and glas I got the googles and Mini Pro 4. It's brilliant
Yeah, having the goggles opens up the opportunity for a totally different flying experience. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the comment👍
Best video I've seen one connecting and flying.
Great to hear! Thanks for the comment👍
@@CreateandKaptivateThank you. I'll keep trying 😊
You just convinced me to buy the goggles and joystick thingy for my mini 4 pro. I use it for photogrammetry, and for that the normal RC2 is fine, but this would let me do scouting and have some fun. Love it.
This is fairly new to me, but I've found it makes it fun to just go out and fly around. A completely different experience than flying with my RC2.
What application do you use for photogrammetry?

Hey, thanks! and hello from Calgary!

Dang, man that was awesome.... I've never done any fpv flying so I'm sure it takes some getting used to... I'd probably get dizzy and end up falling over or something... haha Great video, brother!
I found myself swaying the first time I flew last week and did tilt forward once and had to catch myself!
@@jimgray1094hahaha. That would be me.
Haha, I almost fell over a few times when I started flying my Avata....but you do get use to it. Thanks man, I always like to hear your comments!
haha...
I've been flying FPV for almost 3 years now and I still always sit down when flying.
when I recently learned that I can control my Mini4Pro with the motion controller and headset I almost pulled the trigger and bought those devices.
The Avata2 gives you a totally different experience, and you have the option to fly the mini 4 pro with the goggles.
genuinely the exact video i was looking for! Great work.
That's awesome, thank you!
This was a very helpful video, you explained it so well. Thanks for the info!
You're very welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful.
@@CreateandKaptivate drives me crazy! :)
So I am not actually paired between the motion control and the drone, seems to be in paring mode but not making the connection
Nicely done! Will be trying this today.
Thanks! Have fun!
I recognize the Calgary Tower and the Banker’s Hall buildings. LOL. Was just watching some random videos on the Mini 4 pro. I think I’ll buy one.
Very nice!

Enjoyed watching this; very informative and helped me understand things! How did you record the screen / menu on the drone?
That's great, I'm glad you found it informative. To record the screen you have to go into the main menu, then camera, then advanced camera settings and in here you can turn on the screen record and switch record to both (aircraft and goggles) and the screen recording will be saved to the goggles SD card.
Nice video. Congratularions!!!
Thank you very much!
Would be great to have a video comparing it to the avata 2 experience
That's a good idea, my avata 2 should be arriving tomorrow, so I will certainly keep that in mind.
@@CreateandKaptivate Please also do an analysis of the Goggles 3 MC3 to the G2 - MC2 package with M4P
Hi.
Man I can't wait to fly like this, I bought the Integra goggles and Motion 2 Combo for my Mini 4 Pro, a Month ago for $549.
That's awesome, it's a completely different experience, and it's fun to just go fly around.
@@CreateandKaptivate thank you very muc - thats great news

Excellent video! Great job🎉
Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment👍
Which one you are using in this video goggles 2 or integra didnt mention? Also which one if you would choose? Thanks
Thank you for the review. How many other dji drones will these work with? Will the goggles work with the RC2 and mini4?
I know the googles also work with the mini 3 pro, and the air 3 I believe. But you are not able to use the RC2 when using the googles, that would be a nice option to have.
Which one you are using in this video goggles 2 or integra didnt mention? Also which one if you would choose? Also can you use the goggles with Rc controller ?
I know you can use the goggles 3 with the RC controller, but I'm not sure if that's available with goggles 2 or integra. I tried it with my goggles integra back when the goggle 3 first came out and it didn't work at that time.
I mean this looks really cool! is the avata 2 that different?
Flying the with the motion controller, I think the experience is very similar between the mini 4 pro and the avata2. Now if you have the FPV controller, flying the avata2 in manual mode is a very different experience. The avata2 is more protected with the prop guards and stuff, but the mini 4 pro has a 3 axis gimbal which I think provides better stabilization over electronic stabilization.
I just got the mini 4 pro fly more combo plus. Can you make a video on how to explain to your wife that I now need fpv goggles and controller that looks like I'm flying a fighter jet.😂 Awesome video.
Haha, if I had that figured out I would make a video, it would probably do quite well😂Thanks for the comment!

Great video! Can you use the motion controller to zoom in and out?
In the manual it says if the aircraft supports Explore Mode and if it's turned on the FN dial (as they refer to it in the manual) can be used to adjust the camera zoom, but I don't really know what explore mode is, and haven't had a chance to check it out to see if there is a way to do it. With the FN dial You can also control the gimbal tilt but I haven't tested that out either.
Nice flight
Is there a way to eliminate the hiccups of the gimbal movement ?
Smoother flying 😂This was all my first time trying this out, so I'm sure with a bit of flying time you could figure out how to avoid that. Or a least minimize it.
Great infos - thanks for sharing. Are the Googles 2 also compatible when use normal remote or just with this motion controller?
You're welcome! And to answer your question, the RC controller isn't able to be paired with the goggles (goggles2 or integra), maybe that will change in the future, but right now you're stuck using the motion controller with the goggles.
Can I kick off a waypoint mission then use the goggles for head tracking while it's being flown?
Haha that would be cool, but we don't have that ability yet.
I have a question, if you are in sport or headtracking mode will it let you fly right into the ground and crash?
That's a good question, and I really don't know the answer. I know with headtracking and sport mode obstacle avoidance is not active, but the downward sensors may still prevent you from flying into the ground.
Funziona con Visore 11:21 Integra e . Motion controller 2!! Con Il suo RC non puoi pilotare?? Grazie X risposta
With this firmware update, when using the goggles with the mini 4 pro you can only use the motion controller 2.
Is there a reduction in range when using the Motion Controller 2 versus the RC 2?
Really it comes down to personal preference, the goggles3 and motion controller 3 are the latest but the goggles2, goggles integra and motion controller2 work great as well.
raise and land on joystick is there a drift issue if pressing too much and land somewhere else or move in various direction without touching the stick
If you're not touching the joystick or the trigger it still tends to drift a bit. If you move the controller around it may cause it to rotate as well.
Very informative, many thanks 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment👍

Well done video!! I assume connecting the drone back to the regular RC controller is not a big issue?
Yes, if you just pair the goggles like I was doing. When you want to go back to the RC controller, you really don't have to do anything, just power up the controller and the drone and they will connect.
very nice how-to-video. thx so much!
You're very welcome! Thanks for the comment!
The toughest decision for me now is do I just get the Goggles 3 for my Mini 4 Pro, or spend more and get the Goggles 3 combo with the Avata 2
Haha yeah, I went for the combo. Looking forward to getting it.
My home town Calgary, am going there soon, and have plans of flying were he is lol
Haha that's awesome!
Thanks…
I'm not in the US, so I'm not 100% sure, but I believe under the FAA that is the rule.
What a load of rubbish! Health and safety gone mad!
I was just testing this out with the new goggles 3 and I was able to select the rc2 or rc-n2, but there wasn't an option for the fpv controller.
Good 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 😊
Obrigato! 😊
I've looked for a way to rotate the camera too, but wasn't able to find anything. 🤔 Maybe you can't film in vertical with the goggles?
Could you please advise If we bought DJI Avata Pro-View Combo, can we use the same goggles with mini 4 pro?
Yes, I believe the pro-view combo comes with the Goggles2 which will work with the mini 4 pro.
I totally agree. If you're flying in one direction and looking in another, that's when you would want obstacle avoidance the most.
@@CreateandKaptivate Many thanks
Got my Goggles and Motion Controller 2 and tried it out. My first impression; its fun, but will take quite a bit of training before gaining proficiency! 😅
Yeah, it's totally different experience, and definitely takes a bit of getting use to. But after a few flights I started to get quite comfortable and then it's so much fun because you can just point somewhere and go there.
Can you still use the gimbal fpv mode if you don't use the goggles and motion 2 controller? I mean is it possible to get the horizon banking effect if you just use the RC2?
Yes you can, on the RC2 controller if you go into the main menu by tapping on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the screen and go into Control and scroll down you will see Gimbal Mode, an here you can switch it to FPV mode.
can you connect a normal controller? instead of this stick and still use goggles? thx
Up until just recently I would have said no, but now with the new goggles 3 you are able to fly with the goggles using the rc2 or rc-n2 controllers. I just happen to be working up a video about that.
@@CreateandKaptivate awesome! can't wait
Cool video. Did somebody find a way to use spectator mode in a second googles3 using mini4pro? Thanks
Do you still get the same range compared DJI standard transmitter?
That's a good question...I haven't really tested the range using the goggles, but from my experience it's been good.

Mark I hoping you could help me, can those googles be used without that motion controller? I suspect yes but I don’t want to invest in the goggles if I have to use the joystick
Unfortunately, the way it is right now, if you want to use the googles with the mini4, you have to use the motion controller.
@@CreateandKaptivate thank you Mark I appreciate it, it’s frustrating that HDMI was not included on the newest controller, but is on my original controller which allowed my use of Glyphs 🙃 keep those awesome videos coming
Is it necessary per the rules to have a spotter when using the goggles? That's sort of a downer...
Yeah the rule says you must keep visual line of sight, and it can't be a video feed. So if you're flying with goggles, you essentially need a spotter. I kinda get it, but most of the time I can see my surroundings better than my spotter.
@@CreateandKaptivate No worries....all good...thx for the reply.
@@CreateandKaptivate thanks for the response. I have tried absolutely everything and can’t get it to work. Thanks again
Great video, can you fly with goggles and RC controller?
With this firmware update you are only able to use the motion controller 2 when using the goggles. So no RC controller, at least for now, but it would be nice to have that option.
Nice job. Thanks alot
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it👍
Well done, very helpful
Thanks!
While you put and fly with goggles, can someone also see what you see the same view via controller screen aswell?
Not through the controller, I don't think. But you can connect your phone to the goggles and view the goggle display on the phone. The downside to that, is I don't think you can connect it wireless.
Can you use goggle's without montion controller and just use smart controller with goggles?
Unfortunately not, you are only able to use the motion controller with the goggles. Maybe someday they'll change that.
That has now changed, check out my latest video!
Something to think about🤔
@@CreateandKaptivate you wolud need a GoPro and a Smartphone or Led light
Is there a nd filter in this shot? I want to buy, I don't know if it is necessary?
Yes I was using an ND16 while filming this. I almost always use an ND filter, unless it's really cloudy.
Hello, please help me, Is it possible to watch videos from TH-cam or other platforms on Integra?
I don't think you can do that, or at least I don't know of a way to do that.
@@CreateandKaptivate awesome thanks
hola. estoy que riendo comprar el mottion control 2 ya que tengo las gafas y el m4p merece la pena comprarlo es para volar en 1 persona gracias
Hola, creo que es muy divertido una experiencia totalmente nueva.
Is it possible for me to look through my integra goggles and use a smart controller for flying. If so how?
The way it is right now, it only let's you use the motion controller with the goggles. It would be nice to have that option.
@@CreateandKaptivate I’ve seen other people use goggles but control the drone with a controller (not the motion controller).
On your goggles display it states: Not using bound device
Is this a problem?
And you will need to have an SD card in the goggles.
thank you
@@CreateandKaptivate
Amazing! Did you have an nd filter?
Yes, I was using an ND16. I rarely fly my M4P without a filter.
@@CreateandKaptivate looked great, which brand was it?
I have the Freewell Mega Pack for my M4P. I really like the Freewell filters, I had them for my M3P and I have them for my Avata.
When using goggles and motion controller can you shoot in portrait mode
I don't think you can, or at least I have not come across a setting for that.
@@CreateandKaptivate you cant just change camera to portrait ?
As far as I know the camera is always in landscape mode, or in the horizontal position when using the goggles. I haven't seen a setting to switch it to vertical, possibly it wouldn't work well with the goggles display.
