I got my first pr package sent to me with a small Instagram following--fewer than 1000 followers.

Both! I started by just reviewing literally everything I had around my home, or even things I had tried at one point and didn't have anymore, because you can get away with just text-only reviews (even though photo ones are better!).
I literally stopped right here and posted the reel sitting in my drafts!

I would avoid this! Sometimes it’s legit but often it’s a scam, you pay the shipping and handling, then the stuff never comes. If it’s a brand you know and would have shopped anyways, I would do a little more research and proceed cautiously. But for me that’s an instant no, you really shouldn’t ever pay to promote someone else. Heyy!! Just a small doubt can we get pr packages without being on Instagram
You absolutely can, though I think right now a LOT of brands are searching primarily on IG for creators to send to. Second I would say is TikTok, then moving on to other platforms. But if they can find all they need on IG/TT for example, it’s not worth hunting harder on other platforms.
I'm new to TH-cam and my channel is about creating handmade jewelry. Would these PR tips work for me? I mean, I'm not talking about hair or makeup on my channel.
Great question!! Yes it can work, though you would want to target brands that work with your niche, ex. The supplies you use! These brands might be newer to social media/creator marketing tho so you might have to do more of the heavy lifting and pitch.

Absolutely-though I recognize it may be more difficult depending on where you are located. But try to target Nigerian brands and PR agencies in your search over anything in the west.

I'm not familiar with the influencer marketing scene there, but the tips outlines should work anywhere that has PR agencies or brands looking to push products or services--which is mostly everywhere. But how robust and bought into to influencer marketing will vary place to place!
