TH-cam is a pain in the ass dude! Podcasts are hard enough but the video on top is next level. It's kinda the reason we have been a bit hesitant to dive in fully. Keep plodding on and remember the smoke Blindness is a thing, you'll focus it in over a bit of time and it sounds like youve had a wee dose of the Vid! Senses will eventually come back, or you'll relearn it all. Took me a little while after my first bout. Anyway I digress, you do what suits family life as I've learned that the whisky community will always be here wherever you pop in to share a dram online.
I certainly agree on that it is a pain in the ass! They don't like to make it easy but it always feels super rewarding! I have been so lucky and been hit by the vid 3 times! but according to those nasty up the nose tests been clear for a while and just a little tiny cold knocking me for 6. I will keep trying and think over the last month it is coming together a bit! Love the podcast, cheers to the next one!

Hi Jeff, with all the amount of work you do put up in your videos, as for some other experts editors (unlike me, lol), it doesn't shock me if you step back to release a video +/or a live show per month, I did myself kinda step back to that timing even if I tend to do less live shows now...Do what is comfortable for you & we'll follow you ! All the Best to the "little genius" as we say here (so yeah it is a compliment, "little" meaning young, mind you) ! 🥃😉

I feel your pain on the taste front. I had Covid over 18 months ago now and I’m still not sure my sense of smell has fully recovered. Hang in there. And even if the quality content is monthly, it will be worth it.

Creativity, time, whisky and money - often all get in the way of real life. When inspiration wobbles and illness looms, then it's time to get all of those factors back in balance, if that's possible. I don't think any of your fans are going to take that in any way negatively. On the contrary, the joy will be all the more if you occasionally post in future when you genuinely feel good about posting and publishing. There's a whole host of us here who are mightily enthused about your jaunty, quirky and irreverent take on whisky and whisky reviews - and the way you pack that into an hilarious package (I've commented often before about the phenomenal amount of editing you do). So - take a break, however long you need. We'll still be here whenever we hear the faint but unmistakable sound of a bottle being slapped emanating from a digital device. Smell-and-hear-you-later! Cheers.

G'day again mate! Currently have close to a dozen bottles open... but this time of year ? hhmmm... I'll have small sips from a few to remind me what they are. I'll have the Glen Scotia double cask , Deanston 12, but sometimes grab a Raasay and even a Loch Lomond 18. The Melbourne based Starward is good as well. Their Two Fold is great for the price. Two surprises .... Glencadam10 is a no go. it has an off note I can't get over. And the Tomintoul peated. Even at 40% I love the nose and taste. It goes great as a Smokey Coke with ice on hot nights. My Peat Monsters and Sherry bombs can stay in the cupboard for a few more months.... Just one more thing... With Tasmanian whiskies... as their prices and stocks are making them unobtainable, I;ve been looking at other more local distillers (in Victoria). Even bought a couple from Archie Rose (Sydney) over the past year. Sorry for rambling on... OOROO AL

On a totally whisky-unrelated note, but on a platform note: I am curious to see if Google start putting new features into TH-cam to make it more attractive, given there is a bit of a mass exodus just now from the big-hitters.
Don't worry, the step away didn't last long till I dropped another video. The Drams... they call me. I think some changes are already coming into place to try keep people on the platform with improvements in the admin area but I fear it could be too little too late for most! As long as John Drams is still about I will be happy!

On a totally whisky-unrelated note, but on a platform note: I am curious to see if Google start putting new features into TH-cam to make it more attractive, given there is a bit of a mass exodus just now from the big-hitters.
Don't worry, the step away didn't last long till I dropped another video. The Drams... they call me. I think some changes are already coming into place to try keep people on the platform with improvements in the admin area but I fear it could be too little too late for most!
As long as John Drams is still about I will be happy!
