I absolutely love that accent. Growing up I hated it because my mom is from Minnesota and I'm from Texas but now that I'm older and my wife has that accent, I love it.
I grew up in Wisconsin, 2 miles from the southeast Minnesota border. After hi-school I moved down to southeast Missouri for 2 1/2 years. After that I moved back to southeast Minnesota, and after being away for 2 years everyone's Minnesota accent seemed 10 times stronger than it did before I moved away. There are still quite a few people around here that have it as strong as Bobby's mom. I get really annoyed when people here say things like "Minnesotan's don't have an accent, Minnesotan accent is closer to perfect English than England, People in Minnesota talk just like people on the news," I don't know why Minnesotan's can't accept that they have an accent.
@@bryanmurrayvideo2513 lmao according to my wife she has no accent. Umm I beg to differ. I think it's because they think the accent sounds dumb. They mispronounce words like bag, mag, fag, tag, sag. They pronounce words weird like boat, coat, toast, mot, no, yea.. I love the accent but she doesn't. When I go to visit her family everyone in the little town has a thick accent and people said I have an accent lol. Texans don't really have an accent unless you're from east Texas.
@@genericwhitemale1114 I don't believe there is such a thing as "no accent." One thing I've noticed growing up in Wisconsin is that Wisconsinites have a different accent than people in Minnesota. Even a lot of the ones that lived just 6 miles from the Minnesota border have a pretty noticeable difference in the accent.
Oh fer corn sake, gee golly! 🤣 lol used to watch this every morning before school on Fox Kids back in the 90s. Never knew it was actually a Saturday Morning cartoon! Even my mom laughed at Martha.
I live in Wisconsin now but I’m originally from Mexico. So I never heard this in English and my bf told me she has a Wisconsin accent so I had to look it up 😅😂 lmaoooo too funny. I actually like the upper midwestern accent
When I was younger, I really thought Bobby's mom was a European immigrant of some kind cuz "What was that accent???". It's only after I watched Fargo and was like, "Ohhhhhh that's a midwestern accent".
This would be the ULTIMATE Martha line: Oh oh oh off-dah! Hold yer gee darn horses there little mister manzie. Fer corn sakes Bahby just because you don't have a gee golly bicycle is no reason for all this hoopla-rooskie-pooskie now then there yet. I mean fer cryin' in da mud, if Jackie jumped off a bridge would you jump off a bridge too-a? Besides, yer birthday's comin' up don'tcha know-a.
Nobody could have played Martha like Gail Matthius. The accent is amazing.
I think so too and the voice sounds like Fran from Higglytown Heroes as well
You can tell Bobby’s mom genuinely cared for her son and the rest of her family ❤️
Take a shot everytime Martha says "Don'tcha know".
Thanks, dead now.
Done! Now whada we drink to nexxxt amorphous blob?
I love how Martha talks like she's from Minnesota and her daughter talks like she's from the San Fernando Valley.
