I do anything from, Frame, Structure, Body, Paint, Alignments to plain old Mechanical work. I can really appreciate seeing someone do such clean work, and taking a lot of pride in exactly what they do. Thank you Sir for allowing us to follow along! You do some really nice stuff... 👏👏👏👍💯

  • @andycampbell4102
    @andycampbell4102 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where's the cut off point for the insurance company to write the vehicle off? I've watched a few of these and whilst some of the repairs are vast, some of the vehicles values I would say are not?

  • @Nahiyanize
    @Nahiyanize 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not sway the rails back and cut a square on the side of the rail to repair them. Then reeled the rails, clean up your welds, prime and paint... you could just do pull for sway and mash on each rail. That’s what we do on all the cars we buy at auction most do the time.

    • @trumpit9174
      @trumpit9174 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because he's not a hack

    • @Nahiyanize
      @Nahiyanize 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trump it that’s not called being a hack. If you ever look at a insurance estimate (which I have done hundreds of) you will see a line on some of them saying “pull for sway”. That is exactly what that does. Manufacturers are okay with it and it is the right away of fixing a car.

    • @GGarduchi
      @GGarduchi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nahiyan Haq because if you can’t cold pull it, it’s junk, no heat is to be applied to the rail assembly. And, being in the U.S. land of lawsuits, you won’t find anyone who will do a repair that way.

    • @Nahiyanize
      @Nahiyanize 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      D Pupo read my comments gain. I didn’t say anything about applying heat. You still pull it cold and sway it but then you end up with buckled in the rail. You then cut a square in the rail from the outside to get access to repair the buckled. You weld just that square up again, clean up welds, body filler, sand, prime and paint.

    • @GGarduchi
      @GGarduchi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nahiyan Haq there is no insurance company in the states that would approve that repair, it is a liability and it’s in a crumple zone. There is no way you could guarantee 100% that rail would perform to manufacture specs in another collision if repaired in that fashion. That is why they tell you to replace the entire rail assembly. It’s a big job in any car, but it is the “correct” way according to manufacturers & ICar.

    Estimator must have been green if they couldn’t flag this as a total loss.

    • @Nahiyanize
      @Nahiyanize 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mo A estimator does not decided whether it is a total loss. The image desk appraisers at the insurance company do that. If it’s snake farm insurance then they fix this kinda crap all day long

    • @moa8839
      @moa8839 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nahiyan Haq I am image desk at DGIG State Farm doesn’t exist FYI. Estimator couldn’t even flag this at 70% ACV.... that’s a garbage appraiser

    • @Nahiyanize
      @Nahiyanize 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mo A FYI image desk at DGIG does exist. I know several people at DGIG who do exactly that. This should have reached 70% ACV but again it comes down to the image desk appraiser to correct the estimate or to choose to write it off

    • @moa8839

    I’m not a body man, but does your boss ever say something is totaled? Or, tell the insurance company to take it elsewhere? Maybe it’s time for you to move on to white collar Kye? This repair job is bodyman abuse. Like to know how many hours you got paid for this? How many hours did it take you? And the guy who removed the engine? I worked at 2 GM dealers as a mechanic on commission, long ago. It was a scam. GM wants their warranty repairs done for basically minimum wage. Commission is just a way to screw the middle-class skilled laborer, and the customer. You are very talented, maybe you should put out your own shingle? You will never get anywhere working on commission for a millionaire.
