People going to complain about artists asking for money while they gleefully fork over their monthly subscription for Spotify. Pick music fans: pay artists, or be stuck with no music, shitty music, or music made by AI (what the record companies want).
Here's my thoughts on this. The way Fernanda brought the situation up was good but the execution was extremely poor. Do I still think Fernanda needs help, absolutely but she should've done something first like say she's making a Patreon to move to Europe and provide fans with content like music lessons and autographed pictures. That would've been great. Instead, she went with, "Please, I need money. Spare some change." I'm not against Fernanda or her band because I cannot freaking wait for the new Crypta album this Friday but she needs to think before speaking next time.
Dude, lots of content creators have Patreons that fans can donate to, to keep good content coming from those creators. It's basically the same thing. Except the content she makes is killer fucking music you can enjoy anywhere, and not just somebody talking into a camera. I'd of hooked her up with something if I knew about the situation before the backlash. Because I listen the their albums, A LOT.
One thing is when Gary Holt asked for money to help his brother, but when it comes to that type of shit.. it's mmm abusive to ask for money to their fans.. it's like that friend who is always asking and asking and asking and then when you need something from that person it never happens.. it sounds to me like that. It's not just a bad idea...
I really feel bad for Fernanda. She is an amazing woman, shouldn't she at least deserve to be able to have a home? And she is a legend, all of the ladies in Crypta are. Not to mention the amazing music they make for thousands upon thousands of fans. And she can't even afford rent and basic appliances and furniture. WTF is going on in the metal music industry. All I know is that it's not good. Long live Crypta! if I had money I'd help Fernanda and I don't regret saying that!
Knowing that a band on that level can stuck really badly with oftentimes a funny income and some funky regulations (like you cannot sell merch at the place, or you may but you need to pay a percentage to do ), so playing music in a touring band may offer memories mostly but a good money to get on. And yeah, there are some big-time experts outside making a living on Patreon and stuff, she may have not considered the post she had. So oi can empathise with her. This is an awkward situation surely.
This whole debacle wouldn't have had nearly 1% or the backlash and/or lasted nearly as long if it were a man wearing Fernanda's shoes. It's that simple.
False. People are more willing to help women/girls, this is even one of the reasons why there are fewer female beggars than male beggars, society makes more effort to remove women from the streets. Charities that run donation campaigns receive more money when they use the image of a female child as bait. If instead of Crypta it was Krisiun needing to raise 60k they wouldn't have succed, and if they had been, it wouldn't be as short a time as it was in the case of the girls. Fernanda made a mistake, deal with it.
Of course this woman is fake. Finally, the mask fell. remember that time crypta asked for money because of the motorhome accident? she thought it would work again only now it showed who she really is. It's a shame that she currently represents Brazilian metal.
And didn't insurance end up covering the cost of the RV? I called her out for e-begging at the time and got a LOT of hate for it, but it seems now that public perception is shifting lol
Well they literally have released 2 albums and gone on tours across several continents so they've gotten farther than 99% of other death metal bands. I don't think they need your advice.
@@johnran6015 Why the hell would I make predictions about things we can't possibly know? Whether they make it another 20 years or 2 days, they still left an impact and are liked by many people right now, so they've still passed the threshold that 99% of startup bands don't make it across. Grow up.
@johnran6015 Well now you're just making wild assumptions with no information so this conversation has run its course. Have a great time being an elitist or whatever.
When it comes to problems musicians meet, struggling live, then to be able to bring culture to everyone, years of involvement into music people ignore / don't know as they rely on only a "result", without earning anything, indeed it should be everyone's problem. Now I don't know the girl, neither her situation. I quite don't like the fact someone, cause of being known, can simply "ask for money". But now it's clear artists can be in very difficult situations. And if people let down artists, then art will simply die.

I wouldn’t give a single penny to this woman but there’s thousands that apparently will LOL. If you wanna give money to her well that’s on you.

Nobody would give money to a male musician. If you’re a woman metalhead the simps come to the rescue.

Being thrown out of apartments, losing jobs, being broke is all part of the death metal experience. How bad do you really want to do this?
