  • $300 for a fletching jig seems like a lot of money, and it is. But in this video I will cover my thoughts on why this fletching jig from last chance archery is a great deal and absolutely worth it if you will be shooting archery for any length of time. The Vane Master Pro is one heck of a fletching jig and by far and above the best on the market in my opinion.

Great presentation! I wondered what the real value of this jig is and now I know. Thanks Jake!

For 300$ it should fletch my arrows and provide a lap dance in the Champagne Room.

I think you got an older version. I bought my VMP about 2 years ago. Differences: the main body/groundplate is made out of metal instead of plastik, the knop for compound/recurve is standard, you can lock the the disks in which the vane holding wires are installed. Love my VMP though it can't be used the glue feathers or the new Bohning Vanes. Btw it is advertised to be able to fletch 4 inch Vanes, didn't fletch that long vane myself, yet.

This does offer great customization but I am not a sure of the holding wires. Do they just about lightly hold the vanes in place and roll off as you move it back to reload new vane or do you have to wait till glue dries to move it back?

The wires hold the vanes (I use Bohning Air) in place but not so tight that the wires would roll. You have to wait until the glue is dried bevor removing the vane holding part but that is no difference to the clamps for jigs like a Bitz or Decut

Love the jig, how about using a q-tip for clean-up..just a thought..
Also, do you use a cleaning solution before flectching ?
Thanks for doing this video, great job.!!!

Question for you about arrow spines. Do you align the stiff/rigid part of the spine straight up or straight down? You also mentioned further back fletching mounting. I do this as well. Far back to make sure nothing hits the string at full draw. Have you found an optimal distance to be mounted? If so what is that general distance. Another question about vanes. Do lower profile vanes not fly as well as taller vanes because of disturbed airflow coming off the arrow tip? Thanks for any information you can provide.

Love this jig but really expensive for hobby archers and more something for serious archers like you, then 300 dollar is not much in my opinion.

If you wanted a large helical, for $50 you could use an AZ EZ Fletch. Where this is great is a lot of experimentation, but for most people, it's really overkill.

I really wish they'd come out with a 2 degree helical 4-fletch and 3-fletch jig. The true helical is great, but it's too much on the mini-max. I'd by one with less helical in a heartbeat just for the time savings. They are so fast!

    It looks really nice.
For last year I was using decut fletching jig p-nexus (What do you think about it?) and now thinking about changing it to better jig.

Use to be a machinist i just use an indicator to set my 40$ infitec jig. It works great within .001

The definition is a bit confusing to me because in my mind offset leads to an helical vane. A tiny offset just doesn’t look so much helical but with better equipment it is measurable

Jake, can you provide your recommendation on a jig that's less than $100? Hopefully one that does 3 vanes at a time.

Did you use a VERY LIGHT amount of Lithium Grease on the two slide pins for the jig. Where the actual Vane jig attaches to the base? Just got mine and seems to be if you dont slide it out perfectly even your stuck. Even out your fine. Another question is I noticed you dont have the upgrade Vane holder set screw now available. Take a look at this th-cam.com/video/EaBRBM_slcI/w-d-xo.html

    It's still ridiculous :/
    I understand it's a 1-of-a-kind design but still
A nice aluminum anodized Decut is like $30
I do not see many reasons why the company makes it ridiculously expensive other than a few factors, such as: smaller manufacturing capacity, the high price makes it stand out/markets itself, simply wanting the price to be high :( They would probably make more profit if they got the price down for the average mortal :/ lolol
You have done so much free advertising for them over the years with your one vid awhile back, ask them to hook up your audience :D lol
(like what NutNfancy does, he has been my gear/firearm guy who has been hooking us up with deals for years!!! Companies can't buy him)
