カツオは、非常に体温が高い魚なので、釣ってすぐに氷のプールに入れないと自身が暴れる熱で身焼け(魚の身ｈに熱が入って焼けてしまうこと)して生食は出来なくなり、身も割れて不味くなってします。
この漁船では、釣り上げて死ぬまで甲板に放置しているので、折角釣ったカツオも全部不味くなってしまっています。
