Yeah, He loves his 1400mm T-28. He has had a lot of problems with his retracts though. He doesn't retract them anymore, because they failed one time and he had to belly land it. During the landing it ripped the front gear doors off! But he still loves the plane and whenever he flies it people stop their cars and spectate! It is a GREAT looking plane. He has the silver huff and puff model.
I got to fly Tuesday in the late evening using the TBLs. IT WAS AWESOME!. Once the sun went down they looked amazing. Just wish the leads were longer...
Great job!i watched a video on airfield 1400mm t28 and the guy put a slighty larger diameter wheel on front to prevent blade strikes...I bet the 1400mm would be easy for you to fly it also has flaps to slow down landings
Oh yeah, and don't use the flaps until after you learn how to fly :). Flaps will make an airplane stall even faster if you don't know how to use them. They are meant to slow the plane down with power applied. If you cut the throttle you will crash. I have seen guys do this several times.
Yes, i watched the 1200 dynam fly at nitroplanes site...its only $50 more then your model in rtf version, and has retracts, but not sure its epo foam or cheaper stuff...The airfield 1400 looks better and is built strong, has all the bells and whistles...I am just learning, but hope to have skills in a couple of months to fly a t-28 like yours or possibly the dynam1200 which should be easier due to its extra size..thanks again..Happy flying!
You can use the gyro with or without a radio, you just have to use the manual dial on it instead of controlling it from the radio. To be honest, with a 1200+ mm wingspan, I don't think you are going to really need a gyro. At that size the plane should be plenty stable on its own. Instead, I would see if its possible to hook up the flaps using a reverse y cable to channel 6. The reason you need a "computer" radio is so that you can program the switch and a dial to control the gyro functions.
Well, because of its small airframe it needs to be flown fast to keep from stalling. The hawksky will glide in under no power. Under low or no power the T-28 will come in like a thrown brick so it requires a much hotter landing speed. Other than that its a pretty easy airplane to fly as you can see. As long as you have some good open pavement for a runway this plane is a lot of fun to take off and land too. I usually fly 3 batteries. 2 are stunt flying and one is all touch and gos.
Once again great review Arthur, what a great little plane. Pity I don't have a suitable landing area for it. Thick but well cut green grass, no probs for belly landing types of craft but not his one .. dam it. Cheers Stew .....
Darn... This one doesn't belly land too well. The 2 times I tried it, I broke the cowl and a prop. Its just not floaty enough to bleed off enough speed before hitting.
I took the gyro out and put flaps on this plane. I will make a video soon. Now it comes in like a real plane. Even without the gyro and the stock 2s battery this thing is a little rocket. I don't want it to go any faster though, as it already is faster than scale.
Yes, i will learn with my mini cub,ten hawksky, then fly t-28 no gyro...the PZ is very stable from what i heard and the dynam being a bit larger should be a bit more then the pz and i'm sure the 1400mm airfield is even better...
I just ordered the dynam grey t281270mm rtr with retracts, and it is epo foam for only $146 shipped..,what a deal..they gave a 25% off code to facebook friends... so now i have to learn how to fly...so i can fly this cool bird:)
The Dynam T-28 is awesome and does float. Its an awesome plane. On this plane I said the hell with 2s and only fly 3s on it. I dropped a 30amp esc in it. Freaking cracked out now, no tip stalls lol.... check my vids for this on 3s and the Dynam T28.
Actually my friend has the 1400mm T-28. Even with the flaps, its worse. He stopped using the flaps because it causes the airplane to drop like a rock :). Someone said the Dynam 1200mm Trojan is a much better floater. From the videos I have seen, that looks like it may be the truth.
I got a question u may know the answer to...I will be getting my rtf dynam 5 channel t-28 soon.. will that gyro u installed work with the stock dynam radio? it comes with a 6 channel 2.4 g reciever, but another guy said u need a computer radio for gyro, but i don't understand why that would be...PS i hear the new dynam t-28 comes with scale pilots not those stupid ones they were using... Now u must be super jealous!..lol thanks for all your pointers
haha - Its true of a lot of RC planes though - check out the silly pilot on the Horizon Hobby SE5A - that guy is even worse. Oh, and just so you know, this plane is now 5 years old and still flying. My electronic are still all original too.
Fantastic, keep up the cool videos and tips. Lol you are right about pilots. One of my planes had a pilot with a flat face that looked like a kid's squeeze toy. I swapped that joke out for a nitroplanes korean war error pilot...much better!
so is this an overall nice plane? with black friday coming up and my birthday just passing i have some giftcards to use. i have been flying for about 3 years and just want something to play around with
I love mine. I have had it for almost 2 years now and aside from my flaps mod, its still all original. The new one even has the more scale landing gear, where as my landing gear looks like toothpicks :) - Anyway, the T-28 is a classic trainer and almost always a great flyer.
Nice review! I have the same plane, except mine is the red version. I fly mine on a 3s battery with a MAS 7x5.5 two blade prop. Other than that it is as stock as it gets and it is an awesome plane. I even put GWS floats on mine and flew it off of the snow this winter. Check out my vids ;)
No - ARF (almost ready to fly) means the plane includes no radio gear at all, and for some manufacturers it can also mean no electronics at all. BNF (bind and fly) means it comes with a receiver already installed and that you just need to bind it to your already existing radio. You must have a compatible radio, though.
Good video. I have the same plane different color. My first mod was the motor, then the prop. The best thing i did was upgrade to a generic 1400kv with prop adapters. Also use the 6x7e props on ebay. Check out my videos! I recently got a micro video camera. Have it mounted on the nose.

I just switched my prop from the 8x6x3 and went down to a 7x6SF. It works great and gives me a lot more clearance.

Hey, I added flaps to this plane last week and will do a video showing how I did it. It makes landing the plane a LOT easier.

Nice review .... interesting mods you made - just might do some on my T-28 as well. Regards!
night flying is awesome! i used to fly my fp heli's at night last year...Planes can be a bit of a tricky i bet
Once again great review Arthur, what a great little plane. Pity I don't have a suitable landing area for it. Thick but well cut green grass, no probs for belly landing types of craft but not his one .. dam it. Cheers Stew .....

I really like this plane... after i get good with my Dynam Hawksky do u think this plane would be a good second plane to fly? thanks
Oh man, I am jealous. If you end up not learning, send it my way, yuk yuk.
Thankfully the replacement motors are under 20 bucks. Hope you get it flying again :).
Yes, i will learn with my mini cub,ten hawksky, then fly t-28 no gyro...the PZ is very stable from what i heard and the dynam being a bit larger should be a bit more then the pz and i'm sure the 1400mm airfield is even better...

good video...i have the same plane but i busted my brushless motor in a crash, (my fault) but is an excellent plane...i liked your review
thanks for the good info!

thx for making this video! I have the same plane.
Years later, and Mine is still operation.
Hi, nice vid. Do u think this is better than the Dynam mini Mustang ? Thanks
It's definitely easier to fly
Ok. Thanks for tip man
oh I found it... Yeah I said radio - and its only half a radio (rx vs tx). People get the idea.
Very nice review, great information. The plane looks like a winner. Then only headscratcher is the dorky looking pilot figure....WHY!!!
haha - Its true of a lot of RC planes though - check out the silly pilot on the Horizon Hobby SE5A - that guy is even worse. Oh, and just so you know, this plane is now 5 years old and still flying. My electronic are still all original too.

Isn't that bnf not arf if the only thing you need is radio and receiver

you mean the reciver...
Always go with 3s batteries...Extra Power will save your butt many times over!
I haven't flown this guy in a while - I am gonna go 3 cell next time I do.
Just put a Larger Nose Wheel on that Plane..its fixed gear anyway
