illustradays brings to Athens a piece of creativity from each corner of the world. At the same time, it brings to the world the only illustration festival of Greece. illustratalks is the part of the festival where artists and professionals from different fields of illustration share their stories and secrets with the audience.

Sam McCullen is the co-founder of dPICTUS, a curated platform where international picturebook publishers and agencies showcase outstanding projects, discover emerging talent, and make new publishing connections.
In his talk, he presents “The Unpublished Picturebook Showcase” and some of its most successful projects. This ongoing initiative invites illustrators and emerging picturebook artists worldwide to submit their unpublished projects that are considered by a jury of 50+ top international publishers. The most voted projects are showcased at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and presented online to hundreds of publishers, leading to dozens of published books. A bright example is the incredible “Once upon a time there was and will be so much more” by Johanna Schaible, also published in Greece by Martis Publishing.
dPICTUS helps picturebooks, illustrations, and stories travel and blossom and McCullen shares the vision behind it.
