@@FlourescentPotatoStreamline is honestly pretty solid. 15 (20) damage for two is a lot early game, and with a rebound or a hologram (also both commons) you can quickly replay it to quickly end fights. While it's not run defining and I'll rarely grab it after act one, it still holds its own all the way to the heart.
The funny thing is that so long as you are lucky on the first couple combat rewards this challenge just makes your deck better.
Yeah, ironically, I think I would rather start with no cards or 1 card.

Starting with Mercury Hourglass and Neow's Lament would enable the other characters to get a similar start to The Defect in this challenge.
True. But really with the other characters u would just need to get any kind of damage from the starting bonus, so choose a card, choose a rare, choose a colorless, or rare colorless have pretty good chances

What are your thoughts on doing this challenge with Neow's Lament and bronze scales?
Then you can do it on any character, but you would tank the first three fights.

I think hourglass is better for the challenge because bronze scales is a big advantage towards the heart which makes it a lot easier

Ok so I didn't know where they were from but I found them eventually. in order the song's played in the heart fight are:

An interesting challenge could be the opposite, beating slay the spire, but you have one of every card in the deck

Actually did this on my first try, but I definitely got the "with enough luck" part of the challenge. Started with a couple of claws and draw cards, a turbo a bit later, so I got through most fights pretty easy. Ended up getting Black star which got me the broken Torii + metal rod combo, so I was fairly safe for half of the heart fight and with a couple of buffers I got through it taking almost no damage.
I tend to forget to like videos but you got me in the first 10 seconds with the Ludwig joke 🤣
oh my, I didn't expect that Mirror's Edge love at the end! it took me by surprise, I felt like I was remembering wrong, but then the beat drop
here's a challenge, there's a relic that allows you to add cards that are played that are not in your deck, it's in one of the relic mods you play with, maybe Hug you. Start with that relic and a Discovery, can only earn cards from combat
I would suggest, also, the codex.

You have to be thinking about what you need for acts 3-4 from the beginning, but the rest is being able to beat A20 normally, by act 3 it's like a very good run from slay the streamer where chat just wanted to help
I feel like the biggest challenge is making it out of act 2 for two reasons
1. You can make a consistently powerful deck on act 1, but that doesn't necessarily beat act 2
2. You're playing the defect

This was a great run and challenge! The strats of drawing voids on 0 energy and hologramming the voids to not lose the energy are something I'll try to copy myself!

I think slay the relics is broken, I cant hover over the relics to see what they do at any point in the video

i really think it's a buff not disadvantage. assuming you have the luck in the first 3 fight to get enough to get started. after that you get so much free remove

I've done this due to a bug with a mod; honestly? If you survive the first encounter, the only challenges are those that give statuses. [Not a brag. I've lost nearly every run caused by this bug.] Those statuses are brutal. Won twice, but so everyone knows, those were with MODDED cards, so I don't count them.
First time here, and maybe I don't know something about the game, but WHY DOES AGGREGATE GIVE MANA FOR EVERY 4 CARDS IN THE DRAW PILE?! Mine gives for every 6, and for every 5 if upgraded
After watching I decided to try it myself.
On the defect it took me 3 tries but then I wondered if you could do it with other characters if you got a damaging cards from the whale.
I did The Watcher first and after a few hours of getting to act1 boss to get the whale event and checking if the event gives me a damage card I eventually made it. (I beat A20 but forgot to click the red key on the last campsite so did not get to try the heart.)
Weirdly enough the deck was basically Pressure points+ and 2* sanctify (2 card I don't normally use much) and a few other things

Laughs in 4 creative ai, 3 echo, 5 loop, max orb slots, 15 focus, 5 lightning channeled per power card played. (Mummified hand helped some)
Just as I was losing some motivation for the game Gwayson has a perfect challenge. It’s more fun a lot harder
How is this hard? feels like the custom setting "draft". It just makes you stronger not having any crappy starting cards that not even the bonfire spirits can get excited about.

Upgraded deep breath was infite though, no? Streamline, deepbreath+, if you draw your whole deck on turn one is infinite.
one of my favorite runs ever, and one i could never replicate, was getting my deck trimmed down to like 5 or 6 cards, starting with no cards is a buff
this challenge + you always have to add a card to your deck when given the opportunity

New challenge idea: defect run where you cannot deal and damage, block, or gaining extra energy besides relics and orbs (passive orb abilities and evoking are both allowed, but you could choose to not allow orb evoking for a bigger challenge)
