Logo Evolution #8: ABC DVD (1980-present)

- Just in time for Australia Day (which happens in about four days), I might as well do another logo evolution on a home entertainment company that's based in Australia.
ABC DVD (formerly ABC Video until it was folded in 2006) is an Australian home entertainment division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to release its titles onto VHS and later onto DVD. Their releases were previously distributed by Thorn-EMI Video until 1985, when Festival Video took over distribution rights to its titles. Video Selection Australia (a division of Roadshow Entertainment) in 1991 took over distribution rights from Festival Video (with some earlier releases from Thorn-EMI and Festival being re-issued at the time). Then finally, after VSA folded in 1993, Roadshow Entertainment took full control over ABC Video, and when its first few titles were released onto DVD in late 1997, its distribution partnership has stayed this way ever since.
From 1996 to 2012, they and Roadshow co-distributed BBC titles in Australia (whereas Roadshow took full control over BBC from 2012 to 2019). Distribution of the BBC's content is now (and currently) handled by Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment under their Universal label.

The 1990-2006 ABC Video has become the most popular logo variant viewed by 80 million childhoods.
To be honest, ABC DVD is one of my favorite childhood logos, so this Logo Evolution is awesome in my opinion 🤟😎🤘
ABC is the home of The Wiggles, The Hooley Dooleys, Hi-5, Larry the Lawnmower, Giggle and Hoot, Bananas in Pyjamas, Play School, Roary the Racing Car, etc.
I get scared of 2001-2008 ABC DVD logo nowadays because of the very loud whoosh

I'm gonna have to do Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment first, then Walt Disney Television (the original, not the current one), and finally, Walt Disney Pictures. But for now, though, I'm gonna have to stick with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment as #15. I'll add it into the list.

From June 3 of this year ABC me and ABC tv plus is being replaced by ABC Family and ABC entertains Respectively❤😊
I absolutely love it. But can I correct you on one thing? Nature's Landscapes was actually released on DVD in 1998, not 1997. Other than that, it's still a great video!
