From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for how you reviewed this foundation. I'm retired on a budget and live in Mexico. It's tremendously expensive to order any product and get it here. I've watched multiple reviews from people I like, and they are raving about this foundation and talking about its amazing smoothing of texture. I have the exact texture situation on my chin as you do, and I've always been very self-conscious about it. I dream of a product that can help hide or smooth over it and would pay the price (which will be at least 2x the retail cost to get any foundation to where I live). But seeing your truthful footage showed me that this foundation is not in fact what I'm look for. 💝Thank you!
Such differing reviews 🙏 my dry skin loves this foundation! I don’t use the blur primer and instead use a hydrating primer (covergirl plush plump) and it works beautifully together. I set a bit with a light powder and it looks airbrushed and wears all day 🙏
I just have to give my appreciation for giving us “real life” & “natural lighting” check-ins 👏🏻 Gives us such a genuine snapshot on what it looks like without all the faux lighting & ring-lights. Thanks Gemma I appreciate this review 🥰🇦🇺
Thank you so much for reviewing this, I was going to buy it .. but not now!! With my dry skin it would really pee me off if a foundation clung to my dry patches .. and it sounds waaay too fiddly to apply .. my hormones wouldn't have the patience for it!! Thanks Gemma x
I love the background as a temporary thing - I still love the green, and am desperately trying to find it for my bedroom with little success - it's really flattering on your skin and hair tone.
Very in depth analysis of this foundation. I appreciate all the points made about the performance, texture, and durability of the product. I have dry, textured combination skin, so I think this one I’ll have to sit out.
I love both backgrounds so much! And that you can switch it up is fantastic. BTW love your darker hair and cut. It looks thick and healthy and beautiful!
Thank you for such a detailed review. I think this foundation is more hassle and it’s worth- definitely be giving this one a miss! Love the new background by the way, it’s really nice ❤️
Hi I've tried it and I've found that it's absolutely perfect and I will be buying it again and again it suits me and looks so good in myself it makes me look a lot younger than my she and I'm 57 year's old with dry skin so much better than any foundation and primer than I've tried in the past thank you so much at @huda beauty you have changed my life for the better❤
I have been so curious about this! I have texture on my cheeks and this looked so good but definitely passing after watching your thorough review! Thank you for saving me money yet again, Gemma!
Love the background colour and that you have the option to switch it up. I also loved the green - both gorgeous colours! Thanks for this video. Personally I never purchase any makeup based on a review by anyone who is not in my age range or that doesn’t have my skin type. I also wouldn’t purchase any base products from this brand as they don’t scream ‘natural’ to me. There are just too many other brands and products out there to choose from!
I am 50 with dry skin and texture next to my nose, my chin and smile lines. I didn’t think I would like this foundation, but I loved it. I did not use any primers aside from the new Merit moisturizer. I just wear a small amount and applied with the ELF dual foundation brush. Wore beautifully through a 12 hour stressful travel day with 3 layovers😂
I’ve just listened to your detailed review, which was so thorough & which I really enjoyed ❤… I’m sitting on the fence with this one, as some other reviewers say it is 100% the best … however I think I am going to take your thoughts & advice .. thank you so much for your honesty, I do believe that you have “ really put it through its paces “ ..😊❤
Love the new background but the green is lovely too. Nice that you can change it up. Thanks so much for this honest review Gemma. I have really dry skin and was going to buy this. I don't have a lot of money to throw around, so really grateful I won't be wasting it on this foundation 😊 x
I love this foundation! Normal skin but I’m getting on a bit. I found it really easy to whack on and go and it lasts all day, maybe I’m not using enough to get the issues you found. I’ve not bothered with the primer though. Everyone is different!
Hello lovely Gemma, firstly can I say rain has hit Italy so it has finally cooled down so feel free to don a wooly jumper again. I do like the backdrop for autumn but the green is still my fave and the green makes you stand out more. Regarding the foundation I am still a big fan of Lisa Eldridge skin tint or Erborian CC cream, anything heavier makes me look even older than I am. Hugs and kisses to all the family but especially the star Ralph!
Thank you Gemma for your honest review. I certainly respect and value your opinion!! BTW I love the new background color…. it suits your coloring better than the green IMO, but as you say “you do you!” From sunny Florida with love and affection for you and your mum!
Like the Autumn background Gem! Its my favourite season and love the browns and reds for this time of year. Not sure if I’ll get this foundation, sticking with no 7 for now!
@@PamperedWolf Lol I meant to ask in my previous comment are you trying out the new one! My ride or die is the lift and luminate serum foundation! But very interested in the new one!! 👍🏼👍🏼
I have mature skin and when I first tried it I thought it was ok. I have normal to slightly dry skin and I applied it with a brush. The next time I thought I'd try a damp sponge and it went on beautifully! Even though Huda suggests a brush, the sponge worked better for me! It seemed to give it a little boost of hydration and smoothness.
I am 55 and have combo oily skin and I like the foundation. I don’t have the primer. The powder is fine. I think it is light weight and medium coverage. I would give it an 8 out 10.
I like this foundation on my mature combo oily skin but doesn’t dry fast on me so I didn’t have to work in sections like you did. Still powdered this to avoid too much shine and lasts a good 8-9 hours
This was a very interesting and informative video, I don't think the foundation is for me though. I love the background, it's giving warm and cosy autumnal vibes.
Hi Gemma , so greatful for this review . YOU saved me lots of $ being that I am a skincare & makeup junkie of mature age. U & I not shade twins but texture and dryness ..YES. Im shocked that the majority of the comments I read are about ur new backdrop😂lol I enjoy the green much more and maybe even a more rust / burnt orange would be great. Thank u again for such a fabulous review, I trust ur knowlege and love ur honesty. I am a retired Esthetician ❤u
Thank you for your perseverance - no one can say you didn’t give it a good go. But in the end, I am not going to fork out for something that takes so much work just for a half decent (or perhaps that should be not too horrendous) finish. No thanks. 😅
I'm surprised by the rave reviews from women in my age group (40+), as I personally found this foundation to be heavy, cakey, and one of the worst I've tried 🙈
I had no problem applying the Huda foundation…..i like it and it does blur my skin…. Did not find it a problem at all….i wonder if your struggle with it was a individual thing 🙋♀️🇬🇧
It just goes to show that products work differently for everyone. I got the foundation and primer, I love it I had it on all day and didn’t need to powder (combination skin) I always need to powder and my T-zone is oily. However I hate the new elf foundation that you love. It goes patchy on me when I’m trying to apply it. It just doesn’t like my skin. If anyone want to try the Huda she does smaller sizes to try. Hope this helps everyone xx
Thanks for giving your experience, I always forget that people can have the same issues with their skin and something like foundation can work for one and not the other. I'm going to give this a try.
I loved the green Not that that should sway you!😂 Clever to use a back drop that's temporary so you can switch it about, without it being permanent. Hope you weren't swayed by some of thethe comments and did it because you wanted to! New cushion too! That foundation looks a bit pants to me and it's not even an affordable one! 😅 X
Thanks Gemma ❤for being honest I liked it but I didn’t buy the primer & I got the wrong shade But my daughter doesn’t like it Was wandering if you have tried the new face bond by urban decay ❤see you soon ❤
I tried it and the best, for me, was with a sponge. I worked with it for a week and decided it took too much time to get it to look good. I saw many reviews in my feed but it seemed to be mostly young people. I listened to Huda so was excited for a blurred face. I was disappointed and will not use it again.
Hmm, seems too high maintenance for me. I like something reliable each time. Thank you for the detailed review. i much prefer the new Maybelline foundation.
Ps. I previously purchased HB powder- Cherry Blossom. Way too much fragrance - gave me a migraine. I also purchased Stick Foundation- 2 shades- Chai and Graham?? Too heavy and Yellow for me. I also purchased a Concealer - which was pretty goid in terms of shade match and no fragrance. Ty
Trick - finalllyyy figured out the magic trick with this foundation - your fingers - it goes on super light, you dont need as much and it honestly melts. Im not a fan of squeezing foundation on my skin - but it just works with this foundation. Im a brush using kind of girl - but hey- Im the generation that always used our fingers to apply foundation. Lol
So, what did you use to camouflage your dark circles? The foundation only - we see dark circles then jump to your other clips and no dark circles!?! I have major dark circles and can never find anything to actually cover it.
have exactly the same experience as you, you really can't use this foundation stamping as a serum. That claim made me buy the foundation, so I was very disappointed even i first tried it😢
I found it hard to apply. I layered it with lots of hydration. I have combo dry skin & found it too drying. It highlighted my lines around my mouth and eyes. I am in my 40s. It’s a pass for me.
Hi Gemma, oh😮you Cut your Hair, it was getting so long 😢. But still so pretty & love the color, really softens your complexion. Very flattering on you. Thank you Gemma so much for your in depth Honest review. At 62 with very dry, dehydrated, wrinkly skin, this for sure will be a pass for me, thank you.
I tried this foundation and I HATED it. I found it showed up my texture something hideous, and just generally looked awful. I have combo skin. Thank god I only bought the mini from the Huda UK website
I’ve really been disappointed in Huda as a brand the last 2-3 years. She’s had some great palettes some of which have been among my favorites like the Rose Quartz palette. The Pretty Grunge palette was good but I use Rose Quartz more. I have decided her brand is just not for me. Her style of makeup is simply too heavy for me. I prefer Natasha Denona, Dior, and Makeup By Mario. I’m probably going to do a major declutter of my makeup and only keep what I really really love.
