    Hey guys! We have just spent our morning binge watching your videos and we are loving them! We will be travelling soon and have a lot of camera gear like yourselves...Do you mind if we ask a few questions? How do you find it easiest to transport your drone? Does it just say in your rucksack? Also, what are the restrictions like? Do you find in the cities you can just fly it and no one stops you or do you have to do it in certain places? Thanks in advance and thanks for the great content! :)

    • @IntAffair
      @IntAffair  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, sorry for the late reply! Thanks for the views! We have the drone in a manfrotto backpack so it's not terrible to carry around. The backpack also fits 2 other cameras and spare batteries.
      When we were there, I don't think permitting was heavily enforced. Seems like things have changed a little. Look up articles online for a better idea. We would just follow the standard FAA regulations as much as possible. In some places planes fly low so you should always fly within eye sight and a good distance away from the airport(s). There may be places that will have signs restricting drones- respect them (unless you're given permission by an authority). Other than that, just be responsible. Safe Travels!

    Lovely vlog! I am going to thailand next month and I noticed that you travelled with only one small backpack. Is that all the luggages you had or did you leave it somewhere else?

    • @IntAffair
      @IntAffair  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That trip we also had 2 large backpacks with all of our clothes. When doing a road trip, most hotels in your departing city will store your luggage for you. You'll have to ask them when you check in. The idea is to pack enough clothes to get you through 2-4 days and leave your big bag(s) at the hotel. Safe travels ✌🏼

    Great video! I just found you guys, trying to make a plan for my trip in November and was wondering about navigation. Is it fairly straightforward to get around. Do you use a GPS? Any advice would be awesome!

    • @IntAffair
      @IntAffair  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Foster Martin Def pick up a chip for your phone and use GPS. My phone works internationally at no extra cost so we used it to do pretty much everything (navi, food recommendations, store hours, etc). On the country roads it's straightforward but inside city centers it can get confusing. Traffic is hectic too so just throw in 1 earbud and let it guide you around effortlessly!

    Hello from the United Kingdom. I have to say I love your videos, I'm planning to go Thailand next year for 3 weeks. I wanted to take my Phantom 4 pro drone to get some decent shots around Thailand, How was it getting through the airport, do you need to let them know your taking a drone? Do you take your drone on the plane as hand luggage or does it have to go in the luggage compartment bottom of plane? Sorry for all the questions, I just didn't want to take my drone and have it confiscated before I get to Thailand. Any Advice would be much appreciated.

      Thank you 🙏🏼Drone laws are a touchy subject. They are constantly changing. As we’re not officials and probably not the best to give legal advice on drone piloting, our recommendation is to check online before your trip to see if there are any new laws or requirements for flying. I can tell you that we've never had an issue, anywhere we've been, with airport security trying to confiscate our drone. Hope this helps! Safe travels!

    • @IntAffair

      By law- yes. Technically you'll also need a motorcycle endorsement stamp on your IDP as well. In order to get that you'll have to have a motorcycle endorsement on your license from your respective country. A lot of people chance it when they go. We created this video to help you with what to look out for when renting a bike. Hope you find it useful: th-cam.com/video/AbHJNvbLD_4/w-d-xo.html

      Hey Taylor. We included all of our stops in the video. We can't list off routes or times here because it would be too long. Google maps has a great mapping system where you can plug in where you would like to go and it will list off travel times. Try that and see what you can come up with.
      We left our main backpack at a hotel in Chiang Mai and just rode with our equipment backpack. We packed all of our clothing/toiletry items in grocery bags and put them under the seat.

      The hotel we stayed in this year is called Phu Chi Fa Dok Sieo. Not sure if you'll be able to book them online but if you just show up before 7pm there should be someone to help you get a room.

      Instead of the yamaha they rode which is comproble to the Honda pcx, we chose the Honda forza. 700 baht a day . 300cc. Came with a external trunk and tons of underseat storage. By far the most comfortable seat of the 50+ motorcycles I have ridden in my life. It is a large scooter not well suited for town but great fully loaded with a passenger on the hwy. Slightly top heavy but not bad. This is the 3rd scooter we rented in Thailand and by far my favorite.

      We're in SE Asia again and just got stopped on Friday. Showed him the license & international license and we were off in a matter of seconds. I don't think you necessarily need a motorcycle endorsement. Just a standard license and an international license should be fine.

    Just re watched this video after following most of this trip in dec 2018. here are my thoughts. Rent the big scooter, especially if you are carrying a passenger. I recommend the 300cc Honda. get one with a trunk. Ours was slightly bigger than the silver Yamaha they rented.Warm clothes for winter. We underdressed. Eat everything. try it all, It's delicious. If you hate it, it only cost $3 (or way less from the street)Pai canyon is beautiful. Pai itself was not for us, especially the street food.The ride to pai is dangerous due to traffic. leave early to beat that traffic and stay safe.The sticky waterfalls are actually hot springs fed. Well worth the stop. Whole chicken at the food stand there is cheap and delicious.Khao soi gai Delicious. I think they are deep fried noodles on top.. Powdered coffee suuuucks. Plan ahead or develop a taste as its the same Red Cup everywhere. Phu Chi fa. Never made it. ran out of time. will go next time for sure
