i know the guide is old, but for the sake of learning and not wasting runes, an air staff and an avernic wand will give you unlimited air runes on both styles
One question. In a situation where dual wield isn't superior over 2h (I'm not too experienced with PvM so I'm not sure where this is the case), wouldn't it be better to just do the 4taa method with a staff instead of switching?
The dual wield is required because after a staff ability the auto attack cooldown is too high for it to be worth waiting for the auto attack to come out. After a dual wield ability the auto attack cooldown is 4 ticks, but after a staff ability, the auto attack cooldown is I believe 6 or 7 ticks and doesn't become worth it
If youre somewhere where your accuracy is bad enough that youd want to sonic, you just dont c4t/dont 4t between sonic and the next abil you do. Otherwise you still wanna be 4ting as much as possible

Shield works but you shouldn't be using a shield.
Just wondered for when I need to wear a shield (mostly for telos tbh)
Then you're going to camp shield, in which case you would do 4taa without switching to the staff just wand shield
i play revo does ot work like that
So why switch to wand and orb since the staff hits more?
wand and orb have a quicker attack speed

Afaik there aren't any bosses rn that you'd want to sonic for dps. It is viable before say debilitates though.
