    This is what I love about Moog instruments, everything is so musically built. Sure, you can go crazy, but at the core of it is a genuinely musical instrument in the more classical sense.

    The full midi control is so massive. I was mentally building a modular rack with full midi control in mind using Expert Sleepers. Then I found this, in which I get an ACTUAL MOOG, with full control over EVERYTHING using midi built in. AND it’s paraphonic?! Easy buy. So glad you gave it a midi work out, I don’t know why more people aren’t doing videos like this it’s basically a badass modular rack that stores presets

    I am stepping into the synthesizer world for the first time. Bass player for 40+ years who wants to add a bit of synth triggered by midi pedals. I see people on other videos running this piece of kit down for basically not being able to do everything and for all sorts of other reasons. Me, I want a Moog. I want huge bass and I don't want to have to pay $2000+ for a bunch of functions I may never use. I don't want or need EVERYTHING. In Canada this sells for $1149.00 making it affordable without being over the top in pricing. Seems perfect for me. Great video. Thanks.

      @@SourceDistributionTV mate this cirklon jam was really inspiring, just bought sub25 to pair with my digitakt, the plan is to sequence and modulate cc parameters using the DT midi tracks.
      Are there are other midi cx parameters you’ve found inspiring to modulate which aren’t in this video? Thanks

    So much greatness in this demo! Looks a great piece of kit, nicely explained, top circulonning! and as if that wasn’t enough you wore a dark mustard top and made your hands look really white so it looked like Data from star trek next generation was working it! Bonus!! :)

    Best demo I’ve seen on youtube. Ordered one of these last week. I’ve tried some of the “clones” that are out there but to my ears they fall short on matching the Moog tone - especially when overdriven. This one sounds great and you did a nice job showing all the features. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

    Hahaha i thought it was you! i remember years ago watching your microbrute demo and how excited you got, that exact video is what made me buy the microbrute! And I even still watch that video to this day sometimes even though I own the microbrute! 😂 you're gonna make me trade in my sub phatty for this you devil! 😂 I love my sub phatty! Or maybe have both? Edit: I'm very glad you showed the midi capabilities of this and also how gnarly it can get because a lot of people didn't understand why they should buy this over the grandmother, this is a good video showing why it is different and what value it can bring to the table, so they can make a better informed decision based on their style, of course both is always good!

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha thanks! Yes that's it exactly - MIDI is a real strength here (and of the Sirin/Minitaur too) but I think gets easily overlooked. Obviously not everyone is into analogue modular - the potential of MIDI automation is just as interesting/limitless and creative.

    Noise sounds odd, because it´s pink and not white noise , resulting in a more deeper waterfall-ish sound.

    pretty sure the noise sounds like that as it too has mixer drive post 6 o clock other wise it’s just pink noise. Out of interest because most manufacturers just say noise is the noise on other synths usually white or pink?

    excellent review! If I use sub 25 with ableton live, can the capabilities of sub 25 be equal to sub 37?

    • @DJZeroz
      @DJZeroz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, with Ableton Live, you can add an arpeggiator, a sequencer, etc to the subsequent 25, automatize all controls, add more LFOS linking subsequent's plug-in controls to DAW's modulations...

  • @Makebelieve123
    @Makebelieve123 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do all synths have those midi capabilities ? Ie to have all those parameters controllable via Cirklon … filter etc etc
    I know there are some earlier synths like Juno 106 which only have basic midi functions, but how does one know wich synths have all the capabilities as used to control by the Cirklon ?

  • @BrewerShettles

    Cirklon MIDI = 3600.00 - any other controller less expensive that does a similar job?

  • @remydupon9965

    Super nice with the cirklon!! One question. The modulation per step, you can do that with all track values (30) or just with 4 selected cc parameters on an aux channel?

  • @TommyTermens

    What are the sound differences between this and the sub phatty? The voicing on the sub phatty is beautiful to me and I didn’t resonate so much with the sub 37. If you could do a comparison between the 2 that would be awesome.

    Hey, I have a circuit tracks and it has the ability to assign CC’s to its 8 macro knobs. How would I assign sub 25 CC’s to the circuit tracks? As on the midi implementation chart for the subsequent 25 there are two CC numbers (MSB) and (LSB). However I can only input one on the circuit. I’m confused by this, please let me know.

    Can the 37 do these sounds?

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If we're talking Subsequent 37, as far as I know then yes, and in fact Subsequent 37 has an extra mod bus, so can be more modulated by-itself. Of course if you get into external MIDI modulation then the sky's the limit really, even on the Sub 25.

    Can the Keys send midi out while its being triggered via Midi in? (digitakt Midi track playing S25 while using S25 keys to trigger a track on Digitakt)

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Am pretty sure so. P.37 of Manual: There's "Local Off" so that you can use the Keyboard for something else (via MIDI out) while the voice is being triggered by MIDI in.

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fundamentally I believe so, but there is a bit more internal modulation on the 37 (extra mod bus). But the core tone should be very similar
