    This video was very helpful since I've recently been looking at micro-SD cards for handheld gaming decks and dash cams. With all the knock-offs and counterfeits out there, half the battle is knowing where to buy these things after deciding on the brand to choose. Always good to get opinions from as many users like you as possible so I'm not throwing my money out the window. It's a jungle out there... Thanks for sharing!

    Watching in late 2024. I’m thinking of getting the 512gb version for my Switch Lite. I currently have a Samsung Evo Select in it a 256gb version. I’ve been curious about SP the line of SD cards and SSD because of the price point. I’ll probably end up getting the 512gb SP with V2 like you mentioned because it’s only $28.99.

      @@obliviousmode575 Thanks for watching and sharing. I have had about five various SP cards and only had issues with one not reading but returned/ replaced it quickly and the replacement worked fine . All other cards still working fine after about 2 years now.

    Gigastone, Silicon Power, and TeamGroup are all legit and cheaper than most brands. The only issue with them MIGHT be longevity but I haven't had any problems with them yet.

      @@DjMartiniMidwest I bought a silicon power 32 gigs class 4 micro SD back in 2012, actually I still use the card as a "SSD" in my phone for downloading and screen recording directly to the card. It still works fine for something built in China and still operating after 12 years but I also suspect that my card might be a MLC NAND based card

    Do you like the new Steam Deck OLED?

      @DjMartiniMidwest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for watching and your question. I’ve been working on a lot of dj stuff lately and I missed the new Oled version! Thanks for sharing. Absolutely, it sounds really improved .. new screen of course I’m sure it looks great. Rumored it Might be similar to the Oled in the switch but of course there is a better cpu / gpu / memory in the stream deck. Now up to 90 FPS on some games … crazy! It has Bluetooth 5.3 , and better Wi-Fi ( if your home WiFi provider supports the speeds) , faster charging, better haptics , new joysticks and plus some cosmetic button changes. That’s a lot. If i could sell my LCD 512gb which I paid similar prices .. I would definitely upgrade . Thanks again for the info.

      @@EastSide_LB unfortunately in my case the 1tb SD card failed so I sent it back for a refund but don't let it discourage you I just don't buy any sd cards on Amazon because they fail for me... @ThePsychoghost Damnit lol, a few reviews on Amazon do say they've used them in their Steam Decks. But one guy did say he hadn't tried using Triple A games only emulators/roms. Might give it a shot since Amazon's return policies are pretty good.

      @DjMartiniMidwest So my only complaint is that when I try to eject it from my steam deck it doesn't pop out lol. I have to get tweezers to actually grab it out, idk if that's a one off with the specific card. But my 3 other Micro SDs eject just fine. 🤷‍♂️ For less than $60 bucks I'll just deal with it I guess lol.

    I have a ton of Silicon Power devices. I buy the 32 & 64 GB 3D NAND cards in 5 packs from Canadian Amazon. I use then in Raspberry Pi and Orange Pi devices and load different OS on them. I've had no problems. I recently got into retro handeld gaming consoles and have bought both 3D NAND and Suoerior cards. I have had no problems with any of them. Iom's Hardware recommends Silicon Power micro sd cards for the Raspberry Pi. The SATA SSDs are also a good deal. I have around 10 of them. Most are in external cases and a couple are in old computers. Again, no problems. None of the cards or SSDs are the fastest on the market but they are good enough and reliable.

    Maybe I was just unlucky, but the Micro SD Silicon Power 256 GB I bought for my raspberry pi in 2021 didn't work. Worst still, it was so hot that it nearly burned my hand when I ejected it. The 256 GB Samsung I replaced it with worked fine. It may have been a fluke, but for any device that is valuable I now pay the extra $20 and stick with Sandisk, Samsung, PNY, Lexar, and any other reputable brand I can't think of at the moment.

      I've been using the sp superior a2 grey one in my Asus ally since launch. I have had zero problems. Now I also only run emulator games on it . I wouldn't put high demanding games on it with the ally. As that notorious sd card issue. Manual can curve still seems to better than bios 323 update though I want my ally cool as can be so my sd card reader lasts. High demanding games go on 2tb nvme. For 54 bucks right now thinking about taking another gamble.
