Others undoubtedly played important roles...but Darwin stood above the rest. He was such a scientist that found it just to give credit to other scientist...his were the example of true scientific principles...he deserves that special spot of the greatest of all scientist...such humbleness can only be found in true genius n greatness...that is all I can say.

ok, many people may not belive me, but I'm going to tell you anyways:
I am a 13 year old, about to graduate middle school by the end of this month, I just want to say (and no im not flexing) I'm so amazed by darwin's discoveries/therios about evolution. We had learned it in my science class. But I felt like we hadn't been told everything about Charles Darwins discoveries. Yes we did learn about the Galapagos islands, but that's just a sliver of what he discovered. When we finished that unit, I was left feeling a little frustrated, I wanted to learn more about it but I didn't know how. So I searched up "documentary" scrolled a little and saw this. I was honestly excited. Right now I'm painting my nails and watching this. I would like to thank the creator for making this video and going fully into depth. honestly I didn't know over have the stuff mentioned in this video. Now you may be wondering why i said people would not belive a 13 year would want to educate themselves, its because most young teenagers are thought to not really give a care about wanting to actually absorb the information and actually want to learn more about a person or time beyond school, and that's normally the case. But something about Darwin discoved one of the most important discoveries in WORLD made me want to learn more. Normally I don't want to learn anything from school, well, out of school. So once again i would like to thank the creater for this video, and I want to thank any viewer for reading this. :)

Studying Biology in college, I loved revolutionary biology and animal behavior. Charles Darwin forever will be remembered for his legacy to the sciences. What an amazing human being and naturalist. We need more of these people in our modern world.
It did help trigger revolutionaries and various Marxist-materialist genocides.

I greatly appreciate this video about the famous naturalist. I think credit should also be given to Alfred Russell Wallace. It would be interesting to disentangle their respective contributions.
Wallace was mentioned more than once in this. His greatest discovery that wasn't mentioned was his analysis of biogeography (the geographical distribution of species.)

While Darwin gets nearly all the credit for evolution theory, poor A.R, Wallace is remembered at best as a footnote.
It is my personal belief that if Wallace hadn't been snapping at Darwins' heels by independently reaching the same ideas about natural selection, Darwin would have continued procrastinating and putting off publishing his own theory until he died.
I also believe that because Darwin was higher in the Victorian class system, he got far more attention.
Wallace didn't know that by being in South-east Asia when the joint paper with Darwin was published, it would forever leave him in Darwin's shadow.
Then poor Wallace got involved with arguing with Flat-Earthers.......one REALLY needs a heart of stone not to feel sorry for the man!

Yes he does get most of the credit, and for a reason, he did the vast majority of the work to demonstrate it. Quite a few people pondered on the idea, including Wallace, but didn't do the decades of work that Darwin did. A few rationalised it, but Darwin did the empiricism.
You might be right about Wallace being the catalyst to publishing though, he knew what a storm would be created, one which unfortunately is still controversial, in some minds at least, nearly 200 years later!

Hell is worse than what you think (I was shaking after that experience), and Heaven is better than what you think. I have also received a personal healing miracle, I can go into details if you want. This is how God works. If you give Him the benefit of the doubt, He gives you more and more. Would I spend even 2 minutes preaching if I had an ounce of doubt? (I’ve experienced way too much)

Thank you for this excellent biography of Darwin. I think he came by his theories and observations honestly, and gave credit to those who were in parallel with him, or who expanded upon his own work. He was well regarded among his peers, which says much for his character.
He has had a profound effect on scientific thought to this day…and never professed his work to be more than a theory derived from direct observation and research. To publish a work so antithetical to the religious doctrine of his time took great courage.

You are a bit confused, there is nothing above a theory in science. A theory in science, just like musical or educational theory, is the theoretical background you need to understand the facts. In this case facts like speciation or the fossil to give 2 prominent examples, and the theory explains how and why they are all connected, how and why spoeciationb happens etc. etc.

Mutations are always within the species but the genotype remains the same. As far as I recall from my training and in the environment that was anything but religious, there is significant historical as well as archaeological gap in homosapiens development chain yet to be explained.
A genotype is changed by mutation. If there enough mutations in the subset of a species, those creatures will not be able to breed with the main group of their original species and will either go extinct or become a new species.

This was a very interesting documentary. In school we learned about "Darwinism" of course but didn't really learn about Darwin himself.
What a family! He had lots of brains in his DNA.
What I find interesting is that all his relatives had a pretty long life, especially considering those times.
Life expectancy is always longer in the privileged classes, then as now.

That is the reason Wallace returned on a second trip after his first ship caught fire and sank with his findings. Would be great to learn more about people from eastern parts of the world, Timur would be a good one. Middle-eastern and Asian people tend to be overlooked in western education, so I for example have kno knowledge of them.

That would be Thomas Henry Huxley. He was nicknamed Darwins Bulldog. He was a superb comparative anatomist, and was convinced our nearest relatives were chimpanzees and gorillas, in which he was almost perfectly right. (Chimps are actually closer to us than to gorillas.)

My father was a maths/ Physics teacher so my approach towards all things is based on hard,proven facts.I got microscopes, telescope, fossil kits for my presents! And tend to win all debates on the non- existence of religion (like my da). It is easy to disprove "faith", which is all the they have to argue over! The question, possums, is not about "who" may have created us? But how our universe was created, and hey we're getting there...slowly. WHAT IS HE MEANING OF LIFE?
To have a relationship with God on earth so you can spend eternity together in Heaven. So, what pushes me away from God? Hell is worse than what you think (I was shaking after that experience), and Heaven is better than what you think. I have also received a personal healing miracle, I can go into details if you want. Most people have heard “Jesus/God loves you”. Does that mean they have a relationship with God and will go to heaven? Depends on the individual. A relationship is 2 sided, you receive love and you give love back. we both evolved from apelike ancestors, and for the human part of this we have the remains of over 6000 individuals spanning over more then 20 transitional species between us and our ancestors. THat is more then enough evidence to prove it 3 times over.
