Everyone remember Infinity War, when Thor was fucking awesome and we all couldn't wait to see what the MCU would do with him next? Yeah, that excitement is long gone now ...
Lol he has to "find himself" for the billionth time, I'm excited, although he protected the nine realms in thor 2 and saved his ppl from extinction in Thor 3 and became the rightful king
@@MrWar2050 lol, in thor 4 there was not any good action scene and as a character thor was clown. Thor is my favorite and he is strong in comics but it's msheu. Not only they will nerf male characters but they will disdain them.
I remember Mauler suggesting an origin for Jane becoming an equal to Thor involving her getting hurt trying to protect Thor, and he feels guilty for her getting injured trying to protect him (like in Thor 1), and as she's recovering, you have a lightning bolt strike her hospital room. And no, she wouldn't be another Thor; she would be Elding, Lady of Lightning. Thor brings the Thunder, she brings the Lightning.
Wow a unique character that has to stand on its own instead of borrowing fame from her more successful counterpart? Never gonna happen. They don't think female characters existed before 2016.
Maybe I'm in a minority, but I genuinely think Thor has gotten worse with each film he's been in. What I used to love about early MCU was the range. Iron Man was the Science, tech sort of films, Captain America was the war/ thriller films, guardians of the galaxy was the Sci fi, antman was the heist and Doctor Strange was the magic. And of course you had Thor, the fantasy. Thor (as in the first movie) was a decent film about Kings, battles with fantasy creatures, family betrayals. Dark World for all its flaws tried to build on this. But then Ragnarok... Ragnarok may very well be the day the MCU died for me. Let's see Thor, mess about with magic, trying to find his dad, only to get lost in a Sci fi setting, with comedy far too similar to Guardians of the Galaxy with a lead character which is far too dumb and clumsy to be a believable Norse God and let's fill it with music which once again has GotG vibes and which breaks any link to the fantasy film they used to be. Thor lost its uniqueness. The whole MCU lost its uniqueness around then. It all became too similar to inevitable another, and thor specifically just became Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.5. And then he actually joined the GotG, because of course he did. Infinity War and Endgame carried on demeaning his character, making him a fat, cowardly, broken slob. And the whole time, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt by passing off his idiocy as a coping mechanism for all the loss he has gone through. But the madness is continuing. Seems once again, we are seeing more Guardians of the Galaxy. Vol. 2.75. More idiotic comedy, more Sci fi, a lack of unique fantasy, more generic MCU shite.
I agree, although I kind of thought of the turning point in Thor's story a mirror to the real world when your last remaining parent dies: some of the magic of your youth (magic) dies. Problem is that within the movie we get 'growth' but at a bigger picture his whole life falls apart: - becomes king only to lose his world before actually being crowned; - loses heaps of people against Thanos; - loses more of his people in the snap; - gets some of them back only to walk away from it all. End result: family legacy done.
you're not alone with your opinion. While I have to admit that - for me - Thor 3 was the most entertaining Thor movie, when you look beyond that, it is by far the worst Thor movie and one of the worst MCU movies overall for all the reasons you mention + the logical inconsistencies it created. The only thing they did well in this movie is that they created a decent villain, at least for Thor and MCU standards. Blanchett carried the movie, even when her overall motivation is as bland as a lot of the others. But at least she has a strong screen presence, charisma and poses a real threat.
you are right... Ragnarök ruined Thor and by extension, the Hulk, and most of what's left of the MCU. Hulk is SO sad now, MCU never really did him justice to begin with but at least he was a believable Hulk. Anger=power, pain=more rage=insane healing factor. One doesn't need to be dumb to be angry, by merging Bruce and Hulk, they made it seem as though "intelligence" completely suppresses "rage". Because of this stupid logic, "The Incredible Hulk"- a being who gets stronger when exposed to gamma radiation, somehow got heavily injured and rendered useless by gamma radiation. It's as dumb as Reed Richards (the smartest man) disclosing to his enemy, the threat his team poses to them.
At this point I’m rooting for Disney to continue to release subpar content in the hopes that it will keep declining their brand. I despise the company and everything they stand for nowadays. Why people rush to the theater for mediocrity when it’s going to be on streaming shortly after is beyond me.
@ Joseph Brown I do actually like a lot of this stuff and am a movie buff in general. With what Disney has done lately I'm not going to give you grief for feeling that way. The only movie that I made it an issue to skip was Terminator: Dark Fate after hearing about the rumors for it. I'm still chuckling over Disney pushing back the release of Indiana Jones 5 by a year and ordering massive reshoots in the wake of those rumored plot points being leaked.
@Rick James It's what they've done to fans and what they continue to do to fans among other things. - automatically accusing people of bigotry if they don't like a movie or show. - continuing to potentially control the narrative on the popularity of shows or movies through Rotten Tomatoes (review bombing goes both ways whether it's positive or negative). - preaching about tolerance in politics while ignoring it and pushing the opposite in the advertising for releases internationally. - further trampling on proclaimed political tolerance while filming near a concentration camp in another country. - deeply overcharging people at their parks while also messing with their own season pass system to further do people dirty (made me happy to hear Universal was getting record profits from people skipping Disney parks) - publicly admitting they only really want certain customers of a higher end financial wage, putting down anyone at the lower end. - good luck to anyone wanting to boycott them since they control a little over 40% of the entertainment industry. If I missed anything, I'll leave it to someone else to fill in with more.
After guardians went the comedy route and was a success, it seems that anything too fantasy or unrealistic has to be a comedy. Cant wait for them to make daredevil not serious anymore.
The uniqueness of gurdians was the strangeness and the humor. Making every marvel property a group of misfits wise cracking weirdos takes away from their uniqueness. It's like taking the Peter Parker snark and giving it to every single character takes away the him

Also, it can work a hardship on actors trying to get into it for a scene, they mentioned in the video how Ian McKellen had issues with seeing nothing but green screen. Funny thing is, I've heard this same frustration from normies so whether you f***ing like it or not, it's not just nerds, geeks and other fans that take issue with it.
They made Gor the Godslayer look like the Godskin Apostle from Elden Ring. Wish they actually made him look like the comic. Even the sword is just a black sword. They could have made it look so much cooler
I just saw the sword for the first time. And yeah it's kind of crazy how bland and boring it looks. Wasn't the most sick sword in the comics but looked pretty cool

Dumpster fire? Their top 10 box office movies all made a BILLION or more. All of them. If that's a "dumpster fire" how can I get on that fail train? Lol
the problem here is that Thor, as a character, has been presented with the trials and tribulations that lead to character growth. and for a 'god', thats unheard of. so, sure, it was kinda funny and reasonable that after getting reamed out by thanos, he would give up on himself and sink into depression. but from there, you're supposed to find self-worth again and become better for it. that leads to being a more responsible, 'adult' person. what they've done with Thor is have him broken by the trauma, instead of strengthened by it. but, of course this is 2022, so his defeat is being lauded as victory. instead of caring more about himself and the world and those around him, he's just devolving back into a child. "yolo, whatever. might as well have fun and _get weird with it_ because its not like there's any meaning to our existence." thats a broken mind. outwardly, he seems happy and is 'finding himself', but in reality he's completely lost. which is the exact opposite state he should've been in, after coming out of his experiences. to borrow from Batman: he stared into the abyss, and when the abyss stared back, he blinked. tl;dr Thor needs some help from Jordan Peterson and Jesus.
Dude he got in shape again to be a hero and help the guardians, how is that not caring about himself? Let me see you get in a shape like that to make yourself feel good, try it, get out of your couch you are sitting on

Valkyrie is just there to !represent! She has no real story outside of former Valkyrie turned into a slaver turned into King(!) of Asgard in just a few easy steps. A lot of black woman characters are being added to media these days only for the purpose of cucking every man around. And that's exactly what she does. She runs slaves and easily takes Thor, then she takes his very throne, and now she's going to publicly humiliate him.
To be fair to Ian McKellen, he was used to acting with actual other actors (on stage and in film), not just reading lines in front of bluescreen, so Peter worked with him so he wouldn't go crazy.

My friend worked on this movie in Australia. They did use the unreal engine set up with a massive LCD screens as the studio wraparound sets. You are right everything is starting to look the same because this new technology has become the go to and this movie looks bad
Movies used to want to look as real as possible. If CGI was bad, the companies should be ashamed. But nope, release terrible looking movies because reviewers will ignore it.
The movie looks bad because they rely on CGi as a clutch rather than a tool in the toolbox of movie making. Dune have tons and and tons of CGi but that movie looks fantastic since they didn't ignore things like Cinematography or location shooting. If this movie suck then I am very scared for his upcoming movie, The Incal, hopes that he didn't ruined one of my favorite comic of all time.

How come, after all the “Me Too” stuff that has happened in the past few years, especially in Hollywood, that no one (besides us!) is mentioning how disturbing it is to see the Valkyrie actress having threesomes with her “boss” and his girlfriend.
I’d like to remind everyone that valkyrie is a alcoholic deserter who captured and sold countless people into slavery….and for some god forsaken reason, she was made ruler of asgard? I say again, she was an unrepentant SLAVER! Was there even an arc of her showing any sort of regret for what she’d done?
Do Asguardians even care about that? Loki pretty much tried to enslave humanity and was chilling in NYC with Thor a few years later looking for their dad and then was free because he helped him defeat Hela. They don't really have the same kind of morality we do. Thor also committed a genocide in Thor 1 and was just send to earth for a few weeks to think about it.

First time seeing Gor's sword. It's legit just a black generic sword. Know it wasn't the most original or unique sword in the comics. But idk they made it look pretty awesome
Ragnarok was leading _directly_ into Infinity War. There was anticipation for Infinity War, something that is pretty much non-existent for anything Marvel's currently got on the schedule. Plus it had the whole Planet Hulk aspect to it (or the closest we were ever gonna get to a live action Planet Hulk). People didn't know beforehand that literally every semi-serious moment in the movie was gonna be undercut with a joke, because that movie kinda started that. Before then, it was a little more 50/50, as opposed to the 95/5 precedent that Ragnarok set. Yeah, some people love it... but others just can't fucking stand the relentlessness of it. This movie isn't opening in a vacuum. More people know what to expect from Phase 4 now. Spider-Man might've given them a moment of false hope, which is probably why Doctor Strange 2 did so well in its first week. But it ultimately ended up demonstrating that just because Sony seems to have gotten the memo about what not to do if you actually want to sell tickets, that doesn't mean that Disney/Marvel has, or ever will. I'm guessing this one does reasonably well in week 1, followed by another steep drop-off in week 2 - though probably not quite as steep as some of the others - and it'll end up grossing somewhere between 60% and 80% of what Ragnarok made. Just a guess, not a guarantee. The lack of competition will also be a factor.
It could easily be another 'Lightyear'. This movie has over-the-top lesbian advertising and over-the-top cucking of Thor. Who wants to see Thor cucked over and over? I guess we'll see what we see.

@@HyakuJuu01300 NWH is one of the most overrated and mediocre pieces of studio-controlled "film" I've ever seen. It almost reaches Disney live action remakes levels of soulless and nostalgia-baiting. The humor is absolutely ANNOYING. I never flat out HATED Ned and MJ, but NWH made me feel that with how grating their unfunny dialogue and quipping got. The "funny banter" between the three Spidermen goes on for WAY too long and feels like a child wrote it. Every villain in the movie with the exception of Green Golbin is made to be one-note. Electro reaches the Rhino-levels of dumb and easily manipulated, which is a waste of Jamie Foxx's acting abilities. Doc Ock's de-aging effects look like absolute shit and after Peter manages to capture him he pretty much becomes a third wheel to the main cast, to the point where he just flat out DISSAPEARS after Aunt May dies with no explanation, all the way until the climax where he maybe helps out A LITTLE. The Sandman and Lizard are also pretty much just CGI puppets for the heroes to fight (with the CGI somehow looking worse then in their initial appearances), to the point where they just switch back and forth between being good and being bad with no proper explanation. Dr Strange is dumbed down just for the plot to be pushed forward. Aunt May's death means nothing because she was barely in the other MCU movies and when she was it was mainly for jokes about how the actress playing her is hot. And there are also quite a bit of plot holes (the way the villains end up being cured before being sent back totally fucks the continuity of the other Spiderman movies. Also, in the climax why did Green golbin choose to attack AFTER the other villains were cured?).
The moment in the announcement when Waititi entered the stage like a complete moron playing airguitar and kneeling before Portman is so burnt into my brain. People can like his work all they want, Jojo and Ragnarok are indeed nice movies - but I don´t like this guy. And his tweets plus the set photos with them smooching around just confirmed it - for me. He's really not that good. He's done a couple of good movies but his big issue is how much his humor relies on the gimmick of "adults acting like immature children". It gets old after a while, including in stuff like Jojo Rabbit.
No a fan of the comedy heavy Thor, I liked it more when it was serious (Thor was the straight man in any comedic moments), Ragnorok felt like a bipolar movie that could not decide if it wanted to be a buddy comedy or an Epic. For all it’s popularity, Ragnarok did irreparable damage to the tone of Thor. What was once grandiose and high-minded has been gradually dragged into the mire of self-depreciation. Nothing is sincere, and everyone is an insecure child.
They've been inconsistent with its characterization the whole series. At first it was the "magic and technology are the same" and then it wasn't, now maybe it is again. It does look fractured and that Jane may have rebuilt it.
which is already a logical inconsistency, as Thor had no powers at all when he became unworthy to carry the hammer. Of course, you can say that Odin removed his power and his spell gave him the power back once he became worthy to wield the hammer. But if hat's the case, why caring about the hammer at all? Why not just removing his power and casting a spell that gives it back to him once he's worthy enough to have this power? But lets assume it comes from the hammer - which can't be true as Thor was able to use the power without it or with another weapon - why is Cap so much weaker with it and doesn't become a god? Why does Vision have no lightning powers at all? They really messed the hole internal logic up. Same thing with the "Asgard is not a place, it's the people", but Surtur destroying the PLACE to defeat Hela is required, as she draws her power from Asgard? And if Asgard is about the people, then why doesn't Hela become weaker when she slaughters almost all of Asgard by herself? You cannot blame Waititi for all inconsistencies as not all of them were created in his movie, but he made things worse by creating even more inconsistencies.

I agree and so does my wife. She has a T-shirt with a rainbow on it, she likes rainbows. But if she wears it now people have come up to her about being glade she supports the alphabet community. While she is not against them, she does not like the hijacking of what the rainbow means.
1/4 BG nailed it. The drooling Marvel shills that will watch a test pattern if it has the Marvel logo in it, will watch this no matter how bad it is. And, man, it looks really bad. Ever since I was 12, Thor has been my fave character. Haven't watched any of his solo fliks save the 1st one. Zero chance I'll watch this.

I said it and I'll keep saying it, the MCU ended with endgame which doesn't mean that endgame was great, infinity war was miles better but well, once the infinity saga ended marvel died.
I will say, the biggest redeeming quality the Thor movies have is that Chris Hemsworth really seems to enjoy being Thor. I just wish it wasn’t idiot Thor.
No, he enjoys just being himself while wearing a Thor costume. The guy doesn't want to put any effort into transforming himself into someone completely different, sorry, but Thor is not and never will be some lame ass comedian. He's a dead fucking serious God, if Hemsworth has a problem depicting a character like that then he needs to step down. He's literally just a wannabee comedian cosplaying Thor.
The green screen could be a misdirect. In Thor Ragnarok the trailer had Thor and Loki confront their sister in an alley, final version was in the field when Odin died
So the new Thor film has Hemsworth doing a nude scene where his character is mocked and humiliated. Just to be clear about how much of a sellout Hemsworth has become, the actor complained about a shirtless scene in the first movie. He's gone from having a problem being shirtless to not saying a word about being stripped naked while his character is humiliated.

The main rumor is that Shuri is Black Panther for awhile after T'Challa dies suddenly (the character's funeral is shown in the movie) but the movie ends with Winston Duke's character as the Black Panther (he played the leader of the mountain tribe). This is beside the rumored main element of the plot: Atlantis and Wakanda go to war and it's all being instigated and set up by Victor Von Doom in a bid to either get Vibranium, control the region or a combination of the two things. It's been claimed that the dead Celestial from the end of the Eternals will be shown in Black Panther 2. As someone who isn't really a comic or Thor fan, I like Thor Ragnarok and I probably will like this new movie, because it seems to have the same chill and funny vibe. Said that, I can understand why real Thor comics fans hate Ragnarok and probably will hate the new one lol Also, I love Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, but watching her in the triller for the new movie finally makes me question why a non-white woman is playing a character based on white people mythology. That shit doesn't makes sense at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@MrWar2050 lol, in thor 4 there was not any good action scene and as a character thor was clown. Thor is my favorite and he is strong in comics but it's msheu. Not only they will nerf male characters but they will disdain them.

And no, she wouldn't be another Thor; she would be Elding, Lady of Lightning. Thor brings the Thunder, she brings the Lightning.

Why are the fan stories always better than what's given?! 🤬
Problem is that within the movie we get 'growth' but at a bigger picture his whole life falls apart:
- becomes king only to lose his world before actually being crowned;
- loses heaps of people against Thanos;
- loses more of his people in the snap;
- gets some of them back only to walk away from it all.
Couldn't agree more. The ricochet ball to the head was the nail
@@Bundeskaiser problem is she wasn't even defeated by Thor.
you are right...

I'm still chuckling over Disney pushing back the release of Indiana Jones 5 by a year and ordering massive reshoots in the wake of those rumored plot points being leaked.
Because it's pretty and the actors are liked.
- deeply overcharging people at their parks while also messing with their own season pass system to further do people dirty (made me happy to hear Universal was getting record profits from people skipping Disney parks)
- publicly admitting they only really want certain customers of a higher end financial wage, putting down anyone at the lower end.
- good luck to anyone wanting to boycott them since they control a little over 40% of the entertainment industry.
If I missed anything, I'll leave it to someone else to fill in with more.

the problem here is that Thor, as a character, has been presented with the trials and tribulations that lead to character growth. and for a 'god', thats unheard of. so, sure, it was kinda funny and reasonable that after getting reamed out by thanos, he would give up on himself and sink into depression. but from there, you're supposed to find self-worth again and become better for it. that leads to being a more responsible, 'adult' person.
what they've done with Thor is have him broken by the trauma, instead of strengthened by it. but, of course this is 2022, so his defeat is being lauded as victory. instead of caring more about himself and the world and those around him, he's just devolving back into a child.

Spiderman NWH was only good because Sony was involved in it.
@@HyakuJuu01300
NWH is one of the most overrated and mediocre pieces of studio-controlled "film" I've ever seen.
Remember when Asgard was literally dying and the funny rock man made a joke because god forbid you take a moment seriously?

For all it’s popularity, Ragnarok did irreparable damage to the tone of Thor. What was once grandiose and high-minded has been gradually dragged into the mire of self-depreciation. Nothing is sincere, and everyone is an insecure child.
Question: they established that the hammer was just a prop for Thor, he didnt need it.
How will they explain it being in once piece again?

Well if the non white chick in a white people mythology just now started to make no sense to you guess what makes fans of the original Thor stories feel like when Thor is not rly the character nor does any of the movies make sense story wise.
Its a deep rabit hole my friend.
Race doesn’t fucking matter
You do know there were vikings in North Africa and Middle East
@@oli2173 I do know the Vikings traveled really long distance, but Inever thought.about them colonizing other regions apart from the northern ones. Did the Vikings of North Africa create the Valkyries mythology tho?
“I make all these terrible Marvel films and they **love** me for it? “
These Thor movies are straight up garbage . They’ve turned the Thor franchise into lame ass stoner “comedy” movies.
Up next, Seth Rogen and James Franco!
I saw the trailer, it looks like a bad Saturday Night Live skit. A campy 1980's big hair band music video.
