    Hey Chris, Great vid's! My 2016 RT Special Series took me, a Good 500 miles to become totally proficient. The 1st time i rode it, coming off A 2016 Indian Chief Classic just was to heavy with a bad back, hips. I fell in love for the 2nd time in my life, my 1st is of course My Wife of 31 yrs, April. The Spyder is The Most Comfortable - as you don't sit on, you sit in - Most Safe bike i have Ever ridden in 40 yrs. I'm 55 now. My granddaughter Chloe is 9, she rides with me everywhere. I constructed a 3 Point harness system for her. there is no way she can fall off. This has been a cold winter in NJ & can Not wait to get out riding again. I heard Chloe talking to the spyder, she thought no one was listening, "Hi , Dora, (yes she got to name her) i didn't forget about you, Papa will take us out very soon. Ok, i love you." absolutely adorable. We will have Our spyder God Willing for a Long time. God Bless Chris.

    Chris, yes the Spyder rides a lot different but like you said for those of us with leg and hip problems we do not have to hold it up, the hardest thing for me to get use to was the missing front brake, the missing clutch lever, not leaning into curves to cut a tighter turn and the biggest one was riding the oil strip down the middle of the lane, when we ride two wheels we kept off of that center oil slick now I have my butt riding on it. I have a 2014 rt and love it since now I can ride again, congrats to your brother on a great choice. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down.

    Hi Chris. I just switched from an 2013 f6b Goldwing to an 2018 Can-Am spyder rt. I agree with everything you said. It's a different ride but I'm liking it. Be safe thanks for the info.

    Finally a bike guy that had something good to say about the Spyder. My wife and I have been out of bikes for 30 years and are now empty nesters. Just rode one of these Saturday and I think we are going to buy it. We will be riding two up most of the time and she was more comfortable on three instead of two wheels. Im from up North and when I rode it, it was like riding a fast atv or snowmobile. You still lean in the corners but the bike does not. I Enjoy your videos, thanks for your review of one of these.

    Chris, you do a great job on these videos. I thought it was funny how the longer you rode it, the more you were warming up to it. Looking forward to your review of "your" Can Am :).

      Ben Watters Grest bideo, Chris. Especially since you describe the ride and handling as "DIFFERENT" instead of giving it negative connotations.

    I have demo rode the Spyder rt as well and was very impressed. Liked the smoothness padel shifter and auto down shifting. Getting back into motorcycling after some 30+ yrs. and having no experience riding two up, l just wanted a secure Stable ride so my Wife could come along too. It is nice heading into a corner with gravel,you feel more secure with that extra wheel under you.lol. Also it is nice at a stop light and stop and go traffic, not always having to put your feet down on the pavement also you just can't beat that classic Harley Davidson V Twin rumble. Cheers & Safe Travels.

    The Can Am Spyder, like the old BMW K1200LT and the new BMW 1600, has the electrically, adjustable windshield. A handy feature to have. I'm surprised that Honda hasn't offered that yet on the Gold Wing.

    Been thinking about getting a 3 wheeler myself retired Army with legs that give out from time to time and coming from a family of Goldwing riders it is a toss up between a Goldwing conversion or a Can Am. As much as I love 2 wheels the thought of coming to a stop after a long ride and my legs deciding not to work not for me. Good info like the videos keep the reviews coming.

    Great first impressions of the Spyder. They have demo rides around here from time to time. I'd love to do one. Like you said, it sure isn't a motorcycle but pretty cool nonetheless.

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +SoopaBee I like it, it's not a motorcycle, but it beats walking. I almost bought his Spyder, but I didn't want to sleep under a bridge after getting kicked out of the house, so I posted a vid, and got it sold for my brother.

    • @SoopaBee

    Wow, the Spyder looks good in red; matches all your gear, too.
    So, did it feel like driving a car?
    Seems like a great solution for someone who might be disabled, too...like you mentioned, someone who can't balance a motorcycle any more.
    ha! "It's not a Goldwing"; nice of your brother to let you ride it.

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +WheelsNotHeels The Spyder rides like a car, its a different kind of ride, it takes more effort to steer the Spyder than a motorcycle which is whats expected from 3 wheels compared to 2 wheels, but it comfortable fun ride. My brother and I are very close, kinda like Frick and Frack, lol.

    • @Chickenpotpieman
      @Chickenpotpieman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Caliente you're the first person I ever heard say that. That is true. I do have a spyder F3. it does take more effort to ride a three wheeler then a two wheeler.

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just keeping it honest.

  • @dbest1aVlogs
    @dbest1aVlogs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sounds exciting , it's a nice bike.. I would consider one for two up journeys ... A definete comfortable hog

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      dbest1a Vlogs Yea I agree, It handled better than I imagined, if I could justify it, I would have a Can Am parked next to Goldwing in the garage.

    • @dbest1aVlogs
      @dbest1aVlogs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that would be hard to justify .. I mean I guess one could own them both. Say if you used the wing around town, and the can am on 400+ rides.. just did it just do do it.. It would be understandable, and not far fetched. What is amazing to me, is how much the can ams can end up costing lol, if you were to add a lot of goodies to them ..
      It's a hard bike/trike/vehicle to beat.. I don't even consider it a trike in all honesty cause it's technology is far superior .

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer a two wheel Goldwing motorcycle over a three wheels trike any day, but if I was going to buy a 3 wheel trike, I would get a Can Am. It's hard to compare a trike to a motorcycle, because they are two different machines, I've always had a greater love two wheel bikes,

    • @dbest1aVlogs
      @dbest1aVlogs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      agreed . I love my two wheels, even when just creepy crawling and letting the speeding cars go around .. lol. I still think can am has been doing a phenomanal job with the spider.. granted it is not r1 fast, but who buys these to go fast anyway .. The handling is the biggest impressor.

    Chris, how is the service record of the 2015 RT? I'm reading mixed reviews that it is VERY expensive to maintain and hard to find mechanics.
    And the way you say "Goldwing" should be in a commercial for Honda!!! ^5

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Taalib Muhammad The Can Am is bullet proof, but like anything else, maintenance is required from the dealer, but I'm sure bike shops will work on them. BTW it will be nice if Honda paid me.

    • @taalibmuhammad4081
      @taalibmuhammad4081 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      WOW Chris! That is quite an endorsement of the Spyder. Thanks a lot for the info! I think BOTH Can Am AND Honda should be paying you bro!!! :-)

    Chris learn how to properly ride your test vehicles prior to test video's. Spyders use foot pressure to ride turns--apply down pressure to outside foot rest is the deal. As to wind these have 25% of turbulence of any two wheelers--your bias is showing kiddo.

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Best for you both me thinks. They aren't for everyone--they require relearning riding style due to their different design. We love our two and would never go back to conventional bikes.

    Yup, I guess it's not a two wheeled bike, but great for someone who can't be on two wheels. I guess counter steering goes out the window.
