  • PART
    CO2 laser with working area of 600mm by 400mm. built from start to end. This is Part 2. The outer frame.
    Building the outer frame, electro box and tube extention.
    Everything is made with allu profiles.
    This CO2 laser has been fully adapted and all 3D printed pieces have been redrawn by me, this for the adjustment to linear rail system.
    Because quite a few people have already asked if this is the model of Further Fabrication. I had already purchased the model and plans from Further Fabriction and built his model. see video link: • Video

    But my model is no longer the same as his model, although you can use his building book as a model and guidance . Then you have to adjust all sizes of the allu profiles and change 3D prints, because it is not with V-wheels, but with linear rails. The outer frame is also made of three parts. one for the laser itself, one frame for electro components and one for the extension of the laser tube if necessary.
    So you have to decide for yourself what you want to do.
    I recommend downloading his guide manual as a reference and then follow my video to adjust all sizes of the profiles, before you order the profiles if you don't cut them yourself.

      In the software, there you make steppermotor 2 as Slave in the Y axes if you use two drivers. Or you connect the kabels toghetter in one driver

    Regarding the fume extraction, how did you determine the best place to have the fresh air come in to properly pull the fumes over the bed. I noticed you have sliding doors in the front, do you use those to regulate the airflow? Thank you.

      indeed you can use the sliding doors to give access to fresh air. by opening a few centimeters on each side

    Hey Philippe! What is the diameter of the pvc pipe used for the exhaust system? And which parts of the pipe connection were made in the 3D printer?

      You can use what you want. I use 80mm and the big one 110mm. And you 3D print supports for the tube 80mm

    Which power supply did you opt for instead of the 2 - 24v76? Also how did you mount your ground bar to the 2020 alu? Thanks!

      I use a 360watt 24volt powersupply. The innerframe and the outerframe or secured on the table

I want to make a laser machine from scratch just like yours, but the cutting work should be 60x90, but I don't know how to design and unfortunately I don't know exactly what dimensions are needed from the aluminum profiles to cut. maybe you could help me please if I don't put you in a lot of trouble ?       Actually very simple, you just have to extend all profile sizes on the longest side by 300mm and on the short side by 200mm. and this for all profiles. so you have a work surface of 600x900

      alu profiles: 121 € with shipment
      stepper motors an driver: 143 € with shipment
      belts: 6m x 9mm gt2: 16 €
      pulley: 46 € 3 lose and 8 x 32 teeth
      linear rail mgn 15: 3 pieces 90 €
      total between 450 € and 500 €
      depending on where you live and where you order. However, you have to search on different sites to find out what the best price is on the day of your orders. especially now with Black Friday, you can get good prices on aliexpres with a big discount

    What is the new overall size of the internal and external frames, compared to the original design?

      outer frame 936mm x 760mm x 450mm without electrobox and tube extention.
      outer frame with electrobox = 1140mm
      outer frame with laser tube extention = 1460mm, like my model on the video. ( lasertube 1250mm)
      Innerframe total all components = 880mm x 710mm

    i was expecting a detailed build on the electronics side, i remember Further Fabrications had some improvisations with the Co2, thought you will make that clear, long story short i watched you for 2 hours screwing screws.

      You need to make a separate inner ring in two parts for a laser tube 50 watts, this can be printed in rubber or 3 d. Then you can put it in on the ring.

      les panneaux en aluminium ont un côté mat et un côté brillant. les fenêtres en acrylique à travers lesquelles vous pouvez voir sont d'une couleur qui laisse passer le moins de lumière possible. voir site internet : kunststofplaten.be/plexiglas-platen/plexiglas-platen-getint/
      cependant, on n'est pas autorisé à le regarder sans lunettes laser. ceci pour la sécurité. de plus, il ne faut jamais laisser un laser en fonctionnement seul dans une pièce, quelqu'un doit toujours être présent. les morceaux que vous éditez peuvent toujours graver. sécurité pour tout

    I've been doing the math for this total project and it doesn't pay to do it because a 7050 80w machine costs 1800€ and this project exceeds 2000€.

      I builded 90x60 on the grbl driver, without the box. The price was about 800 eur. In this price are aluminium profiles, stepper motors, bolts, nuts, aluminium connectors, 50W Co2 tube, power supply for steppers, GRBL controller, cooling parts, air pump etc. The aluminium profiles and linear rails were most expensive - about 350 eur. Everything was buying on aliexpress.

      De prijs is voor iedereen zeer verschillend, waar koop je het materiaal, vb: je kan een lasertherapie 80watt voor €295 kopen maar ook voor een 80watt €700 betalen. Liniaal rails budget of top kwaliteit enz.... controller types, drivers, teveel om op te noemen. Invoertaksen of geluk geen taxen. Deze varieert van € 1250 tot €2500. Ik had zelf al veel materiaal liggen van een voorgaand project.
