The original Scream 3 would've been a fascinating final chapter with Matthew Lillard playing a more driven, serious version of his character, Stu Macher.
The scream reaction had been positive. The studio had no major problems with the script, Wes Craven was once again returning after Scream 2 to direct, and production was about to get underway when two teenagers went on a shooting spree at a Colorado high school. Columbine completely changed the horror landscape at the time, which was primarily centered on teen slashers before the tragedy.
They brought in Ehren Kruger to create a brand-new story in just a few weeks and basically had to shoot the first draft because there was no time for anything else. The script had to be rewritten to focus on the production of a film because there was no time to schedule new locations, so the movie needed to be shot on their own back lot.
Kevin Williamson may not have gotten the scream film reaction in his perceived trilogy, but he did eventually get to do something with the idea. Williamson’s original treatment for Scream 3, in which a surviving Ghostface killer communicates with his scream trailer reaction fans from inside prison to target a protagonist he has a vendetta against, would evolve into an original idea and eventually became the TV series The Following instead of Scream 4.

Stu and Randy are awesome. Lillard brought Stu to life perfectly and NObody could personify that character as well as him. I love him in Th13teen Ghosts as well. Scream's my favourite and most nostalgic slasher movie...period👌🏻

I see the series pop up on Netflix a lot in the 'Trending Now' section so it's obviously being watched by a few people. My Netflix profile is full of horror and I only ever go to the scary/horror/thriller/gory movie etc sections so watching movies with humour like 13 Ghosts, Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, Dog Soldiers (EXCELLENT film👌👌👌👌👍) etc is a refreshing change 😁

This is unreal. I can’t imagine how much time and effort went into making this; splicing in footage from the actors from other work they did, old footage from the previous 4, some from the Netflix show, and scenes from movies totally unrelated to any of the characters but the dialogue fits so well. I genuinely hope someone involved in the film sees this and takes something from it. I want someone back who is connected to Stu.

Dunno if the #Scream5 team took away anything from it, but I *can* say that this trailer shows I predicted the official title would be ‘Scream’ and that Stu’s house would figure into the story - 6 months before those details were revealed by Kevin Williamson 😉😱

I would love to see Stu back. Think about it. He was a minor when he manipulated into going on a murder rampage. He probably got 25 to life with possibility of parole. It’s now been 25 years since those events. Could he possibly get released? Love the concept art of Stu btw. Then there’s the fact Mathew Lillard was suppose to return in 3 with him behind bars. He was even paid for it , but then Columbine happened and the entire script was shelved. The original Scream 5 was going to revolve around cult of Ghostface killers. I wonder if the new writers and directors will take some of the plot point Williamson was going to use in the original Scream 5&6. I’d like them to finish the trilogy started with 4 because if this is a start to a new trilogy , 4 is going to be like an outlier of the franchise. An in between sequel of 2 trilogies. Either way I’m just Glad Scream and OG Scooby-Doo gang is back.

The original Scream 3 script - set in Woodsboro, was rewritten so last minute and so close to release, that they had to film most of the movie on the studio backlot. That is why the Scream 3 plot revolves around filming ‘Stab 3.’ Since Stu was ‘directing’ the murders from jail in the original script, I’m guessing it made sense for the “Director” of Stab 3 to be the killer in the rewrite. They also had to wrap up a trilogy with a twist and a connection to Woodsboro. The ‘Sidney’s long-lost brother all along’ was a lazy but plausible way to wrap it up. Angelina and Jennifer were Roman’s partners in various rewrite drafts,

Great idea, I read that the 3rd was gonna have stu return but due to an actual massacre which was similar to the script it was cut and started fresh. Stu's return could easily top every sequel so far, the 1st is to iconic to be beaten in my opinion. As long as they keep to their original ideas and don't let modern horror or technology get in the way of a classic slasher it should be an unreal installment. Slashers definitely the best horror for me personally.
Thanks for watching, Reeves‼️ You’re 💯 correct about Stu and the original Scream 3 script. It was the Columbine shooting that forced the rewrite just weeks before production. The only reason Scream 3 is about making a movie that’s set in Woodsboro is because they were forced to shoot the film on the studio’s own backlot. They were literally still rewriting the script WHILE filming. The Sidney and Stu house sets were already built so they used them for that sound stage chase.
@@WilsonCleveland2 thats class, wasn't aware of that. Must have been a handling for the crew but fair play to them, they made a great film. Scream 3 would be my second favourite from the franchise. Randy's video tape was a great scene, I loved Randy as a character for connecting real life to horrors, just felt like when he was on screen he always pulled yah into the mindset of living out a horror.

Agreed. I think bringing dead characters back is always unrealistic unless the story is happening in another timeline. This concept trailer imagines #scream2022 as a direct sequel to Scream (1996) which means Randy would still be alive 😉 #scream5

I know, dude. It’s just a concept idea. I dunno if you saw Halloween (2018) but that movie is a direct sequel to Halloween (1978). I thought it would be cool if Scream did the same thing. I made this before any details about the real #Scream5 had been revealed. Make sense?

I would’ve loved if they had done a “New Nightmare” type of meta film for Scream 5. Like they’re shooting the Scream 5, but then show all the actors playing themselves off set. Neve is playing Neve, Courtney playing Courtney, etc. Wes Craven was a genius. Miss him.

Which reminds a lot of people say that scream 3 was corny.as for myself I think 🤔 the movie was brilliant cause it was definitely closing chapter of a trilogy that we all thought was true from the beginning. One hell of a impact at the end. Never would have thought Rome was the master mind behind the whole thing. I love everything about scream. Do you do video production or something like that or thats just a hobby? Great work ethic. And how was Wes in person? Seemed like a very humble spirited person.
Wes and Neve were both extremely kind and gracious. And yes, I geeked-out. HARD. 😂 If I have to choose, #Scream3 is my least favorite. In Kevin Williamson’s original script, Stu Macher was alive and activates a group of copycats to get revenge (kinda like my concept). That script got scrapped after the Columbine tragedy and the new writer Ehren Kruger’s style didn’t vibe with me. Plus, Courteney Cox’s hair - Like, what even WAS that? 😂 I’m a professional producer/writer (occasional actor), but I love telling stories and cut trailers for fun. All my projects are on hold cuz of Covid and these trailers have been a creative distraction. I’m so happy you enjoy them ‼️😱
Stu was stabbed like 5 times all in the stomach area by Billy. Wasn't he? Billy kept stabbing him over and over when it was supposed to be one stab to the side. He was bleeding profusely and already dying before the TV. Those ridiculously huge and heavy ass clonking TVs from the 90s probably would have crushed his skull. This however is a dope ass concept. You did a great job putting this together! Felt real. Bravo! 👏🏽👏🏽

There was no Roman or surprise brother or Stab 3 movie In the original Scream 3 script. It’s revealed in the end that Stu was alive, in jail and had been directing his followers/would-be Ghostface killers to exact his revenge on Sidney for 1). Killing Billy; (2). Dropping a TV on his face and disfiguring him; (3). Putting him in prison.
It would actually be cool if Stu were to come back but is actually the good guy this time instead. It could be assumed hes the killer but it turns out hes been imprisoned the whole time and has actually changed from his ways.

Here's how you can fit Jamie Kennedy's character in the film. He's dead, so any and all scenes will be pre death Randy. Or... And it's really cheap to do it this way... But the whole thing is in Sydney's head, she's locked up in a mental ward after she murdered her mother. Had a mental breakdown after finding out her mother had an affair. I would like to see your version come to life though. Maybe even have Sydney finally snap and get on board with being a serial killer. Excellent video sir.

Ah yes Stu , I would have loved to have seen some sort of adaption from the original scream 3 script with stu behind bars , I think scream 5 would have been the perfect opportunity to implement aspects of the original scream 3 script into scream 5. And tbh both ideas sound good with either a reformed stu or a double downed "gotten better and scarier at killing" type of Stu.
