Yes, but by my observation for every 100 talented people leaving country only 1 stays behind. That cannot possibly be a good thing. It is because there is simply nowhere to accommodate them at high positions. Not every technologically talented person can or wants to start their own company. Most of them come from modest backgrounds and are risk averse. And it doesn't help that failure is not seen as an option in Indian society.

They just provide an ease to doing business, a stable government and a rules based life to them, and these immigrants flourish and then in return, give Americans a good life through their hard earned money, job oppurtunities and taxes. Pakistan just does the assembly and paint job of the JF 17. JF 17 is owned by China. All the parts for JF 17 is manufactured in China. Pakistan just bought the license to assemble JF 17 in their country. Like our HAL has the license to produce Su-30 MKI.

I Congratulate (you) for bringing out KH into the open. He is a model person to emulate. @@Akyar2 with all due respect, Tejas MK2's metal cutting just started now. So for it or even AMCA or TEDBF to be in our fleet in the numbers we require, will take a lot of time. With our soon to retire Mig-21s and 27 and 29 we would need Tejas Variants, AMCA and TEDBF to be in large number to meet our squadron strengths.

They were made to leave giving KH a chance. Like many in the profession (of Aircraft making) he was a dreamer. He toiled hard without sleep, to make LCA programme a success. Then, the then government put it in cold storage for almost two decades (in the last century). Point is, none (except his team) had any faith in the programme (when it is bigger than a "project" it is called "program" with many projects in it). The break came in, after 2005. It is a miracle that the programme survived. Not only that, LCA as Tejas is as contemporary as any other fighter aircraft either from Sweden, Russia, France or any. May be the Americans saw the "promise", that comes only when someone is a true professional; & is reason why they gave their F404 Engine for fitment in Tejas Aircraft for powering it. I wonder how long this'll go.

When I said he (KH) was in HAL Nasik, the factory where Russian made military aircraft like MiG21 got manufactured, I didn't mean he was working for HAL getting pay from HAL. In his (KH) own words, he was in directorate of Aeronautics (part of d r d o) as "Resident Engineer' in Chief Resident Engineer's office on factory premises (I was in Bengaluru for the same period like him). The job involves overseeing design adequacy (to meet the stated functions & role of the aircraft made & its various subsystems, each overseen by an expert engineer) and certification- In short, representing Airforce on all design matters. Soon after, he did his Ph.D. on, as to how to design a military fighter aircraft & joined the newly created ADA for the design of Aircraft. He was lucky to lead the team that got the assignment & he did it fully well , with success. One of his (Ph.D.) guides was Prof. Ghatge who designed advanced jet trainer HJT16 that was manufactured by HAL as "Kiran" (now known as "Surya Kiran" with improvements & modifications).
