    Here's some advice my older brother gave me for when I'm stressed. It's usually because of a problem.
    You've got a problem right? So there's 2 options.
    1. You can fix it. In that case, fix it and stop worrying about it.
    2. You can't fix it. In that case, you can't do anything about it so worrying won't do anything. Just stop worrying about it.
    This mindset has greatly helped me.

      This is great advice and which i try to follow myself. Issue is with the third option which you missed 😬
      Sometimes you know you can fix it and how to do so (option 1). Sometimes you know you can't (option 2). Sometimes...you are unsure whether it's fixable or not, you have many different alternative routes available and don't really know which to choose!! For me, THAT is the biggest stressor - or should i say anxiety inducer!

    I’m 17 years old and ever since I started speaking my lovely dad has always tried to give me good life lessons even when I was just a kid so that I’d grow with them. He taught me how to be mindful and how to let others share their opinions and I don’t always have to agree but respect. He taught me that as a girl when I grow up I’ll be having a lot of insecurities but they always come from looking at another person's “perfections”. He taught me how to not overthink and not to stress and that everything comes when the time is right. And because of him, I feel like at the age of 17 I’m more responsible for ever, I’m patient and even when I give up I still push myself to do the best. Of course I’ve had my hardships with 6 years of depression that I got rid of when I was 14, 7 attempts and over 80 cuts..and it was all because I became a bit stubborn and forgot about what he had taught me over the years. But till this day, even I share some life lessons with him and it’s the best thing ever.

      That's strange. Based on what you said, it looks your father really loves you. But why would you do that to yourself even while knowing that you have a good source of love? This is not my business, but I would like to know because I also want to expand my perspective on matters such as this.

    • @Turo_Oikawa
      @Turo_Oikawa 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Belmont1714 because my mother is a very negative woman. She always snitched to my dad about me and my siblings, and she still does that till this day. Even till this day she says "I'm the one who raised you when your father didn't care" and my father used to beat me and my brothers up really hard but it's all because of my mother. She'd tell him we're not eating, studying...etc and when he gets mad and hits us she'd say "why are you hitting them ??? I just wanted you to talk to them"
      And due to that it caused me to be mentally unstable and have really bad depression. But as I grew older I realised that she's a very bad person but I still respect her cause she's my mother and she birthed me. I haven't spoken to her since January even thought we live in the same household but there's no more negativity surrounding me and I've been happier than ever.

    • @Belmont1714
      @Belmont1714 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Turo_Oikawa Ig that was kind of expected. The root of all societies problems is found within the household. A broken family leads to a broken society. I get what you're saying and I'm kind of in the same boat, only 10× worse (and not to compare). One day when you have your own family, you'll know what to do ♥. I'm glad I'm not a child anymore, no one can walk over me and get away with it again.

      as someone who's been diagnosed with all 3... you actually can choose not to identify with the labels that were put on you, in order to stop victimizing yourself subconsciously. your entire identity shouldn't be defined by your mental health issues. it's a crutch.

    • @alohawhy
      @alohawhy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@MissStrawberryGun I agree, we shouldn't "identify" ourselves with our mental issues. We are just acknowledging the fact that It's a struggle. It's not like a switch that we can do in a second. But, all of these can be managed with practice, therapy and medication. Sometimes if we force it, it's exhausting and causes breakdowns.
      I think OPS comment is sarcasm to people who for example like saying "Just move on, its easy"
      or

      @@alohawhy sure but that goes for anyone. you can choose to wallow in your suffering or decide to make new choices to push through the suck anyways. is it going to be easy? no. does that mean we need to sit around and pity ourselves with victimizing labels? also no. we can always decide to persevere regardless of what "debuffs" (ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc.) we are dealing with. no one said it would be easy but that's still not an excuse to wallow in self-pity and victim mentality.
      it's the small, consistent choices you make over time that adds up to lasting change. and this, ANYONE can choose to do immediately. i don't subscribe to all these labels. it only holds people back from embracing their true potential in the long run.

    Most of the stress we feel is actually based on the past/childhood were we had experiences were our nervous system got activated but we could not release it, esp. when our parents did not help soothe us, most people are chronically dysregulated in their nervous system and it's not as simple as telling someone to just relax, it is something physical that is out of our control.
    It really takes somatic healing practices to slowly being able to release that over time.

    In the Army I learned to just do my job as best as I can and learn it as best I could. The more I learned about it the better I got doing it and the less stress I felt. I also learned how to deal with the people who wanted to add stress unnecessarily. As a civilian some have said that I was mean because of the way I handled someone trying to stress me but they were usually young.
    Being an over-the-road driver 1991-2018 had its own stresses but my greatest feeling doing it was when my Driver Manager, DM, would tell me about certain companies who asked for me to deliver again. The skills I learned in the Army with dealing with people I still use. Some of most difficult people I had to deal with were Army officers...

    I need one of them “mans” too. Mine currently hasn’t been working for going on 6 months now, hooked on prescriptions, has massive moods swings as a result, fights with me and bitches at me constantly, manipulates me, and so on while I’m working as a manager at a dental office with long hours and we have 3 kids at home, but can barely make ends meet because he’s not working. Needless to say, my health, complexion, and sanity have not been their best these days.

      That ain’t a man and sounds like he sure as hell don’t deserve you. Never put up with a man who doesn’t SHOW you how much he loves you and wants to take care of you.
      That being said it’s a lot harder for you to leave that pos seeing as you’ve got kids, wish you the best

    Emotion is a responsibity that, ignored, can COMPLETELY DEBILITATE YOU. And if accountability is honored, then it can become one of the most wonderful and enjoyable cherries on top of the objectivity of our reality.

    Hunny, my job and my husband stressed me out sooo bad in 2023, I developed cluster of autoimmune disorders, my hair started falling out in CLUMPS for months, and I went from looking young for my age (31) to now looking much older. I am a shell of my former self. But I first ditched the stressful job with the toxic people, worked on my health, and separated from my husband who I had been with for 10+ years in June. I now have a wonderful job with a great company, my autoimmune condition is well under control and I am so at peace. My hair has stopped falling out but I still look like I’ve aged 10 years. Please everyone, bad stress is literally poison for your mental and physical health. Take care.

    It’s funny once you’ve been through intensely stressful circumstances, absolutely nothing is stressful. It’s almost scary. When I finished many, many years of school/rotations etc to get where I’m at it took about two years to come down from that constant level of high stress. Now two years out it weirds me out how nothing phases me. She’s onto something - you really cannot be stressed when you’ve got all you need. The Lord sustains and having everything else sorted out helps.

    For real I've been letting an upcoming job stress me out. I keep saying dont think about it but of course I've said it 20 times already today! Shes right my life is great, I'm lucky enough to be able to have a happy marriage, a amazing family, a home, bills I can actually afford to pay a working car, a healthy body, an adorable dog! And I'm letting one client (who is quite frankly, irrational) stress me? F that. I'm taking away that power. Glad I saw this. xoxo

    When the low paid job I got because it was supposed to be no stress and be able to leave work at work got me so stressed I was stressed at work and it was following me home I started looking for a new job. Funny enough at my new job they praise me and say I do a good job for the exact reason my last boss was always on my case. I'm friendly and I talk to people. I heard somewhere if your boss doesn't appreciate you you're in the wrong job move somewhere where they do.

    You know when you’re annoyed by something, rant to your partner and he just gives you the most gut wrenchingly logical answer to ever exist in the world? Instead of getting bothered at him not wanting to enhance my annoyance by getting emotionally involved like I am, I’m just gonna sit with his logical answer and let the stress disappear…
