Even though I wasn't able to show the physical products in this video, hopefully it still gave those that are just starting off as a makeup artist and building their kit some good starter products! :) There was many more products I could've put in the video so if you'd like a part 2 just let me know!!
Mixing pigments to match a client's skin tone better if you don't have their exact shade is so handy, NYX and LA GIRL both have them and get which one works for you better/budget. This video is so good for an upcoming freelance artist like myself and others without breaking the bank
Definitely! I almost mentioned foundation mixers in here as well but I wanted to make it as beginner friendly as possible in case ppl didn’t go into color theory quite yet :) debating on making a part 2!
That milani eye primer really is soo good ! I am so glad Milani is more readily available in Canada now. Your logic for not carrying liquid lipstick makes sense but if you personally would like a liquid lip for yourself that is not dry and uncomfortable the physician formula ones are very nice and the lise Watier (now avaialble online at sephora) basier velour ones are soo comfortable also lise watier portfolio concealer and corrector wheels are a great product for makeup artists worth a try.
Yes it is such a great eye primer!! I've never tried the Physicians Formula or Lise Watier ones, but I'll definitely have to check those out :) Thank you for those recommendations!
Thank you sooo much for all this information it definitely helps a lot when we are wondering what products to get to start and it’s hard to get everything at once that is expensive. Thank you!!!
Yes, everything definitely can add up quickly! Palettes are going to be your best friend in terms of value, but definitely LA Girl, ELF, Maybelline, and Wet N Wild have the most inexpensive products for the quality.
The attention to detail in this video is flawless! Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions! This is the first video that I’ve watched on your channel, and I feel as though I’ve learned so much! Thanks girl! ❤

Hi Yuchen! I’m glad you got some great ideas for more affordable makeup items :) I personally don’t know about each brands pro discount or if they have one. However, you can just got online and look up the brand plus the words “pro discount” and it should come up with their requirements if they have one :) some may not though!
Just ordered the Mac foundation palette, and I plan on getting some maybelline fit me matte. If I wanted to mattify my cream products could I just use more powders/matte setting spray and primer?
I wouldn't be able to give you exact shade names since I've only worked with a handful of foundations and each has their own number system. As I mentioned in the video, it's best to start off with 4-6 foundations as you are just starting out. I would make sure the get the lightest foundation in the range you pick and the darkest. The shades in between should be a mix of yellow-toned and pink-toned so you can mix them to create custom shades :) Is there any additional questions you have?
