Hi lovely friends. I hope you are all well. Do you like wearing these trouser shapes? If so, what do you style them with? We love to share comments below. Lots of love and take care. Deirdre. XX
Those wide leg trousers look great on you! I love them and think they’re elongating. Soon the ankle pants will be out because they actually make people look shorter… in my opinion 😉
Hello Diedre, I am a new subscriber and I am really enjoying your videos. Would you consider sharing a video discussing under garments and also shapewear? Thank you!
I live in a tropical place, though I love your look I would probably melt in most things you suggest, however I do love wide leg cotton linen trousers with sandals or slippers a form fitting shirt is something I will try. I love your ideas and love the trousers in the boots on you. In cooler weather it would look very stylish.
Great looks, Deirdre! Lovely scarf from your mum! It's nice to wear pieces with meaning! I love all your looks especially the navy slim pant with the striped top! Of course I love the monochromatic creams and even tucked into your boots looks great on you!! Have a super week!!
Gives me brilliant ideas for a cruise to France coming up in June! Not comfortable in shorts- so ankle length trousers fit the bill, always right on point- thank you! 14:06
Deirdre, as a petite woman, I prefer the slim trousers, although the wide leg pants looked very nice with both the pointed toe boots and sneakers. I am with you in that I do not like to tuck wide leg trousers into boots. I think that look was too “bulky.” Nice video!
Have avoided full-legged pants; this gives me hope to try......I'm 5' 1-1/2". Your videos remind me that proper fit usually makes outfit work. Love your videos and how you share your fashion knowledge.
Love the looks shown here! One word of warning though...to all my fellow ladies with less-than-swan length necks, the popped collar look tends to make your neck look shorter. So unless you're a Kiera Knightley type, might want to either skip this strategy or only pop up the collar at the back of the neck then flatten the rest of the collar at the sides and front. :)
Thanks for the tip, Melissa. I don't have a "swan length" neck. I just like the look of the collar up - I guess it reminds me of when I was young, when this was really really in fashion!! Take care. XX
Awesome video. Would you consider doing a video on belts? When to match shoes, purse, and belt. Should belt match pant color or shoe color, etc. Thickness of belt. With links to recommended belts. Ali, when to belt and not to belt. Thanks so much.
Hello! Happy Sunday! Love the video. Now, normally the last look I reserve for the 20 somethings, however a surprisingly fun but still elegant look on you. Your proportions and color choice are very subtle, so I think this is why it works also. I think it's cute on you!
Thank you so much for showing the ankle grazer pants! I was diagnosed with diabetes II last August and lost weight so needed new pants for the holidays. I tried them on with socks in dressing room and never noticed how short they were. When I put them on after washing them I was heartbroken and thought I had shrunk them in the dryer and wore tucked into boots. Now I can’t wait to proudly wear with my spring and summer shoes!! Love your channel❤
Lovely outfits & yes I wear my wide leg trousers tucked into my chunky cream boots. It's a new look for me as well but I like it & even though I'm a little more mature than yourself Deirdre, it's great to feel quite 'with it', she says showing her age, yet not feel as if I'm trying too hard.
Hello friend. I have to say that I actually love the idea and the look of tucking the wide leg trousers into the boots and I will steal the idea for myself if you don't mind. Thanks.
I am a big fan of fitted trousers. Tho the wider leg look great on you. I do really like a crisp white shirt. I usually buy a new one every couple of years because I wear them to death. The chunky boots are lovely but I don't care for tucking wider leg trousers. A great video Deirdre 😊
Hi Diedre, wanted to tell you I’ve just found your chanel & how I love your style. Everything you put together is exactly my style & how I dress. You are modern & stylish unlike some more mature ladies whom in my opinion are too frumpy. Keep up your great videos. I love them. I’m 66 & dress so similar, usually from Zara as I live in Tenerife & don’t have same choices. I’m so pleased I found you. Thank you. 👍🙏😎💕
Aww, thank you so much, Barbara. I'm thrilled that you found my channel and a huge welcome to you. Lucky you to live in Tenerife! I be the weather is better there than here (south of England). Have a great day. XX
Beautiful spring looks! I especially loved the look with the scarf from your mother. That is so heartwarming. The last look was interesting and took me by surprise, and yet I loved it! You looked wonderful the way everything is styled!! Absolutely beautiful, as always.
Ive lotsof wider legged jeansbut not trousers as i find these harder to style ( i’m 5 ft 4 too) i think they were just a bit to wide / soft fabric for a boot tuck but try it with a different pair and i think it will work. Great vid 👍🏼 thank you
I just bought a pair of pants like the ones you were showing in taupe. I bought were a chino relaxed style from Ann Taylor loft. I didn’t own a pair of chinos and wanted to try and relax fit pants and I’m glad I did great video.😊
Hello! I'm very interested in the pair of taupe sneakers worn with dark trousers. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. If not, I understand. I love your videos and appreciate your sense of style.
Hi Elsa, Yes of course. All the items in my video are listed under the video. This is the link for the taupe loafers, which I think are the ones you are referring to: LOAFERS: rstyle.me/cz-n/hji6bgdwnw7
@50 & Fabulous with My Friend Deirdre I appreciate your speedy response, but I was referring to the sneakers. I love the loafers, but my eye is on the pair of sneakers for now. You are wonderful. Thank you.
Hi Deidre. another great video. Loved the styling on all of them. Bother trouser shapes look fantastic. The 3rd look I don’t think would work for me as only 5 ft 2, but as you have a bit extra height and your beautiful slim figure I think it looks good on you. Could I just ask though if wearing this outfit what jacket would you wear? I do love the lighter shades of clothes for a neutral look. X
Thanks Gillian. I love these lighter, uplifting colours too. Perfect for spring! I think you would need a shorter jacket with this look, otherwise there might be too much material at the bottom of your look. Although, I think a classic trench could work too, as the material is lighter which contrasts with the thicker sweater. XX
I think the key with wide leg trousers is decent quality and slightly weightier material and that usually comes from better brands. I personally did not like the last look as I thought it really made your legs look short even though the boots were a similar tone. Just my opinion though. Enjoyed the video and I'll probably get those M&S Trousers.
Not so keen on the slouch trousers with the boots as shown in your video at the end, much prefer the previous looks and love your videos by the way, I find them very informative. X
My daughters would tuck pant legs into boots as in your last look. I however think I would feel like a farmer feeding the cows lol as my Mother did when I was a little girl on our farm. I think YOU look hip and 😎 cool!!!
You look fabulous in trousers. I've got some similar, and I don't like tucking in, but I might do the front tuck. I'm 5ft 4 inch, but you look taller because you must be thinner. You look great in everything.
I’m glad slim-straight leg trousers are “back in style”, apparently. I hated those painted-on elastic skinnies that dominated the first two decades of the century, but slim or straight-leg trousers are to good of a classic to ever give up. I kept all mine knowing that even if “out of style” I would still wear them. Slim trousers are a lot easier to wear for us shorter women, wide-leg and baggy jeans have to be shortened by about 9 inches on me to make them walkable with my two-inch heels, or the excess fabric gets caught under my shoes. I also prefer trousers without pockets, though, but I know I’m in the minority on that. They’re a nuisance, sticking out, pulling open to show cheap linings, creating bulk, etc. and I never use them, I just carry a handbag. Trousers, dress, etc. pockets won’t fit my phone or my electronic car key anyway or are distorted by their weight. I want pockets on my blazers, jackets and outerwear but usually remove them from my skirts, dresses and trousers, or stitch them closed, depending on their style. This morning I removed pockets from a knit dress because they always wrinkled up into thick bunches while hanging, ironing them only kept them flat and smooth for an hour or two, so I stitched them up and cut off the pocket fabric, problem solved. I don’t mind ironing a garment before wearing it, but no way will I remove it after two hours to re-iron it!
All the links to the items are under the video. If you are on a phone, click the little arrow to the right under the video and that will bring up the description with the links. XX
Why oh why have l found you 😳 Thats it next pay day l will be throwing out/selling my old clothes and starting all over again with you😅 Thank you l am so excited and l am a lady of 64 years 😘
Oh that's so lovely! You don't necessarily need to buy lots of things - or not much at least - you can always re-use pieces that are already in your wardrobe. Glad I've excited you!!! XX
I don’t own a pair of trousers. I’m petite (5’2” - rectangle) It’s sometimes hard to find petite sizes. When I purchase trousers in regular sizes, I end up returning them because the crotch is too low and roomy. :(
Hi lovely friends. I hope you are all well. Do you like wearing these trouser shapes? If so, what do you style them with? We love to share comments below. Lots of love and take care. Deirdre. XX
I absolutely need to invest in new trousers 👖👖 Thank you for your help.
@@mimismegalife4976 You're always welcome, Mimi. Have a great day. XX
I very much love Navy blue 💙 you are adorable in the stripes and navy with the sneakers!
Another fantastic and helpful video! Thank you so much. Please don't stop making videos. You make a difference for us ladies over a certain age.🙂
That's so sweet of you, thank you, Rebecca. XX

I love the look with the boots!!! 🥾
Yes, yes, pants tucked in the boots...my favorite look. Great job on this video.
I like the last look on you 👍
Hello Diedre,
I am a new subscriber and I am really enjoying your videos. Would you consider sharing a video discussing under garments and also shapewear? Thank you!
Hi Almetra and welcome to my channel. Yes, undergarments are really important and I am thinking of doing a video on them - it just takes courage!! XX
I live in a tropical place, though I love your look I would probably melt in most things you suggest, however I do love wide leg cotton linen trousers with sandals or slippers a form fitting shirt is something I will try. Loved the baggy trousers tucked into your books.
Great video. I prefer slim fitted trousers, jeans. Wearing cashmere pastels now, anxious for Spring. Gloria
Oooo, I like the sound of cashmere pastels. Thanks so much for sharing, Gloria. XX

Lovely style - classy and modern and youthful! Curious as to undergarment, specifically under the trousers to keep the silhouette smooth. Thx!
Hi Maria. I just wear normal knickers. It's the fabric of the trousers which is such good quality, that the knickers don't show through. XX
Hello! Happy Sunday! Love the video. Now, normally the last look I reserve for the 20 somethings, however a surprisingly fun but still elegant look on you. Your proportions and color choice are very subtle, so I think this is why it works also. I think it's cute on you!
HI Madge. Thanks for your comment. Yes, I tend to think this is a "young" look but I think it works. Lots of love. XX

Hi Deirdre love the last look with chunky boots something different and looks very stylish as always you look amazing
Thanks so much. I was a bit unsure about it but I think it could work if you feel comfortable in it! Take care. XX
Hi Deirdre, I bought the white shirt from H&M in look #2 but it doesn’t look as crisp and sharp as yours. Should I starch it

I like the slouchy look but would not wear it myself so I hope it doesn’t last too long LOL

I’m not a fan of chunky boots at all . I really don’t like the pants legs tucked in the boots. Everything else I love

The chunky boot outfit , the last look is a hard pass for me. Chunky boots make your feet look chunky...lol.
Don't like the chunky boots, I feel they don't go , really don't like! Sorry
No problem!
Crotch area looks “buncy “ not a fan
Don’t like that last look. Sorry
