Hi lovely friends. I hope you like my light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek video! I'd love you to share your own views about what can make us look a bit frumpy. Lots of love to you all. Deirdre. XX
did you ever tried read light therapy facemask? your wonderful "creamserum" will absorb deeper into your skin. highly recommended for our mature skin. XOXO from Phoenix Arizona
I have found that pictures of myself in outfits sometimes helps me understand what is/is not working. For whatever reason, my mirror (or eyesight!) doesn’t give me the same perspective.
I think that has to do with the perception we have of ourselves and what we assume we look like. I find I seem to look completely different in photographs than I do when I look in the mirror. I ask my granddaughter if I look like that and she'll be sweet and say I never look like my pictures! LOL!
I completely agree that not wearing makeup adds to the frump factor. I wear makeup everyday and never go out of the house without it on. It just makes me look and feel so much better. My mother was 94 years old when she passed and wore makeup everyday as well so I take after her in that respect. When I was in the hospital several years ago, I had my husband bring me my makeup bag!
When I was in hospital a few years ago minor op I was sitting up putting on my make up. The consultant passing said when I see a woman putting on her make up.i know she is on the mend
I admire that you do that. I'm 68 and haven't really worn any makeup in over a decade, except for the rare special occasion. Aside from concerns over allergic reactions to products in my senior years, I became rather averse to makep because of all the years of wearing heavy theatrical makeup as a ballerina, the first quarter of my life. Makeup became a source of discomfort. 🫤
This is your channel my dear and I want you to say what you want without apologizing! You offer sound advice. The truth is the truth, velcro and Birkenstocks are a sure ticket to Frumpville. Comfort is important of course, however there are pretty shoes that are comfortable as well. I do wish your skincare line was available in the USA, it sounds interesting.
I have problems with no arch and have found that there are comfortable shoes that look stylish. Thin straps, wedge heel, and no velcro! I have to pay quite a bit for them, but it's well worth it and they will last for years. I think a lot of women get used to the same thing and never think of trying anything new.
The doc martens are very classic and absolutely get all the compliments from the high school kids I teach. They watch for what pair I’m wearing and it reminds me of my punk rock days and makes my 58 year old heart feel very young.
Good for you in the Doc Martens! My friend in Kansas was an elementary school counselor. On a lark she said she bought some purple sparkly shoes. Her little students oooh-ed and ahhhh-ed over those purple shoes! It's fun to wear something your kiddos like!
Oh my I used to wear my Doc Martins when I worked at a school and the student loved them as well... It was a private British school were the students had to wear a uniform! Hahahaah
I totally agree . I can’t see how a DM chunky sandal is more frumpy than a pink skecher type situation 😮 I will be sticking to my jadon boots and prada monolith loafers with wide legged trousers 😂
I have some Doc Vondas (with Red Roses) and I'm 71. Always get compliments (of course I live in LA, maybe that's part of it). Thank you Deirdre - you are fabulous!
It's so true that shoes make or break an outfit - and it's why I have lots of shoes! Nude sandals of all types are a game changer, and I hope they will always be available
A suggestion was made to me to take pictures of those outfits I liked. I was "shocked" by some of my outfits. Seeing myself in the garments made me realize that not all outfits are equal. Now when I try an outfit on at the shop, I take a picture. I then step out of the changing room (still holding onto the select) and make a decision on whether I will purchase the item. I have saved thousands of dollars this way. Thank you for sharing your before and after picture. The product has helped and I am happy for you. Most young women don't completely understand the struggle over 50 women have about skin, hair, and many other aspect of our lives. It helps when we get a product that helps our ego a bit---not pride but something that helps us feel better. Love your program and watch it as often as possible because of your positive attitude.
You always glow with positivity! I agree, it's nice to see people well groomed whatever their style choices. Frumpy is real, it just sorta says; I gave up way back when. 🇨🇦 Good grooming lifts your mood and puts a spring in your step, even if you choose those clunky shoes. Nicely done, Dierdre!
They don't often get mentioned in fashion circles, but for those of us who can't wear Birkenstocks when we want a comfortable summer shoe, an alternative is Mephistos (foot problems due to high arch so Birks just hurt my feet) . They make lots of lovely metallics which go with everything. Wish I could wear some of the heeled or ultra-flat sandals, but those are only 'sitting shoes' for me these days since I can't walk far in them.
Thank you so much! I feel designers are half to blame? After losing weight I have the Flabby wrinkled bingo wing problem.. Its difficult to find a short sleeved top with elbow length sleeves and a dress with some arm coverage that is fitted and flattering!! We don't all want sleeveless, especially for a casual evening out!
Your videos are spot on every time. You shouldn’t have to apologize, ever. I don’t think I’ve gone out of the house without makeup since I was 15 either. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Thank you for your wisdom and advice.
For the first two years after retiring, I started going casual/frumpy because I had spent 20 years in heels and suits each day. My picture was taken with my grandchildren and I suddenly realized I looked old and frumpy. I started watching TH-cam programs, such as your channel, to bring me back to a stylish style.
I’m so glad you touched on the importance of skincare. I began a good regimen in my early 50’s and never go to bed in my makeup. Never. And it made a huge difference in my skin. Then I recently found a new product and it has transformed my skin more to be even healthier. No dry patches, no uneven skin tone, it’s amazing. Taking care of our skin is absolutely key. It’ll soon be 65 and have better skin now than I did in my 50’s. It’s not too late to start!
My style is very classic, but I want to look modern, too. Wearing up to the minute shoes and accessories helps, too, as does keeping one’s hair, makeup and glasses/sunglasses (if worn) styles current. Thanks for another great video, Deirdre❤
OMGosh i love that first dress! I am in Canada, so will have to hunt that down asap! Thank you for another fun video. I'm 60, and I too haven't gone without makeup since approx 16 yrs old because of acne. SO happy when menopause hit at 50, no more acne (YAY) and I still wear makeup daily. I totally agree, I know I look "old" and tired with zero makeup on. I even put on makeup if I'm at home all day with my husband, for him. 😆 But also for myself, as I just feel better and more powerful knowing I look nice, and catching myself in the mirror I don't cringe. 😆
The first thing people see is your face - so a good hair style, and well styles specs if you are short sighted (like me) are essential. I am over 70 and my skin has faded, along with my hair, so make up is essential. I use only Look Fabulous Forever which is designed for older skins, and I go for the 'no make up' look which just makes me look healthy and not washed out. Since watching people like Dierdre I now always wear closer fitting clothes that show my shape - which is a 16 - and it looks so much more slimming and fashionable than tunic tops and loose trousers.
Deidre - I’m American - you’re lovely!! I understand your hesitance at going w/out cosmetics, but really, all of us are there. We’re real women and have the wisdom from living these many yrs, so please be gracious to yourself! ❤I really enjoy your fun videos. God bless you. Lisa
Very sweet video. Thanks a lot. Good tips. You are always so frank and critical about yourself, but believe me... You are looking so attractive and put together, that's why, you are a role model for us. Thanks again and greetings from Germany
Love your videos! I'm trying to up my style game, and really appreciate your tips. Please ignore angry comments. Those people aren't receptive to your message, anyway. I think most of us watch you to learn something, and I always come away from your videos a little bit smarter. I also appreciate your encouraging tone. Thank you, Dierdre!
@@letjoanin thank you so much. I really appreciate your comments. I don’t think that some people, who write very negative comments, realise how hurtful it can be. Lots of love to you. Xx
@@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre Unfortunately, I think there are some unhappy people out there who take pleasure in dragging other people down. Please don't let them get to you. I admire that you continue to make yourself vulnerable (e.g. showing your skin makeup free) in the interests of illustrating what a difference a little effort can make. I put on some tinted face cream and blush today after watching this video, and am amazed at how much better I look! I just needed you to tell me what was missing!
You beautiful brave lady!!! Your sharing of your “no makeup” face was very much appreciated. I loved your last bit of advice the most. If you try something new in a dressing room by yourself and you decide against it, at least you tried. I tried wide-legged jeans and looked absolutely ridiculous but straight-legged jeans are working for me. I’m 54 yo. Try something new ladies-you might surprise yourself 😊
I agree with your recommendations, especially the one regarding no make-up. Like you, I routinely wear make -up. I use a light touch, which is technically no makeup makeup. This approach compensates for age related changes - for example, my eyebrows have disappeared over time, and my lips are more colourless! If I go without makeup, I know I would look frumpy! People compliment me on my look, which they perceive as “natural” and glowy. I don’t have many wrinkles and I’m staying true to my age being over 60.
I absolutely hate chunky, heavy sandals…including Birkenstocks, which actually introduced me to my strong dislike for styles like this!! There are so, so many other brands and styles that can be worn with a whole host of foot problems…I have many of these problems, but do not own any heavy, clunkers!! I love your videos…thank you for your hard work!
Who could be cross with you 😮you’re so gorgeous and taking time out of your life to help all your lovely viewers . I would hope you’re appreciated by all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stop apologising 😢, your bang on. I don’t want to be frumpy and never will be I hope. Look forward to your videos since I’ve found you, you have style and sophistication🎉🎉
In Florida, it's common to see women in their 50s and 60s and older who don't wear makeup but have their hair dyed in vibrant colors like blue, purple, pink, or green. To pull that look off at any age, makeup and color-coordinated clothing are necessary to complement such bold hair choices.
Deirdre, you’re so beautiful inside and out, with and without makeup, and SUCH an inspiration to we ordinary mortals out here. You look so glamorous but thank you for also sharing your ‘no makeup’ photos to help us see that we all have little imperfections that can do with a helping hand. I wear makeup more often now because of you and frankly it gives me a confidence boost, a mood boost, and I just like myself better! I am learning a lot from you. Your less fabric tip is such a good one, I never realised before that I was adding bulk and looking bigger when I actually thought that hiding it all would make me look smaller. Why did I ever think that?! Thanks for showing us it doesn’t work that way. Also, tonight I say goodbye to my chunky beige shoes with the broad Velcro straps and silly perforations. Again, what was I thinking?! Thanks for the wake up call! Proud to say I am looking better these days because of you and people are starting to notice. Thanks again for everything X
Love your channel, Deirdre, your advice is always accurate and you say it so kindly. I think another two things that age us are our hair and being overweight.
As I've gotten older, I realize that the reason older women have such frumpy hairstyles in because they're dealing with old lady hair! It's tough to deal with sometimes. But I totally agree with you about bad hair and being overweight!
Everything you said is absolutely right I am 68 and my skin is 55 because I looked after it all my life am very lucky But am not as confident with what I wear until I found you thanks 🎉❤
Thanks for being so tactful about some of our clothing choices. Since being diagnosed with osteoporosis most of my footwear is not inspired, I miss the old days of 3+ inch heels.
Great video! 🎉😂❤ l agree with all your tips! They are all true! I have seen ladies dressed like that! Poor things, it just looks wrong! Also we all look better with 💄 make up! That's a fact! I am 69 yrs old! I never set foot outside my front door without make up! You are very brave to show us u without makeup! You are still very pretty my friend!❤ but make up is a big plus for us all! I currently am working in a hairsalon in a large department store! I haven't retired yet! 🎉make up,hair and clothes have been a large part of my life! I believe they are important for self esteem! Happiness! Fun! Especially as we ladies grow older! Plus we can make a good living at it! As you know!❤❤🎉❤
I always think I’ll try new styles! I buy the clothes then I find I’m too chicken to wear them. I like mostly classic styles and really try not to be frumpy. I’ve got to get braver with some changes. lol! I also try to never leave the house without makeup on. You always look fresh and very pretty! Thanks for the helpful hints! I love watching your videos!!
I'm with u 💯 on the make up. I won't even tidy my garden without it on. 😂. I do think that my skincare has restored some confidence but not all. You should do some hair and make up tutorials 👍🥰. I've always admired your hair
You're spot on regarding grumpiness. You're also right that at the, same ti.e were worn out worrying what others say about our looks. But if you saw a picture we'd be shocked! Just a few small changes can make a big improvement. I recently made some changes and now I often get "you look great!" And I also feel better inside too. Thanks for reminding us to be our best version 💕
Hi Dierdre, I agree with you more mature ladies need a bit of makeup, a lot of us look washed out and older without it. I see ladies in the street and think, oh she'd look 100 times better with a little makeup on! Even just a bit of lippie. I don't even put the bins out without a bit of slap on lol. Also agree with trying something new and wear brighter colours. You suit red ❤
Great advice. I’ve recently turned 60 AND had abdominal hysterectomy. I’m struggling to accept my extra bit of tummy fat since the op and feeling old. I’m guilty of the couldn’t give a damn just pop out for those few groceries in tracky pants and no make up. 😢 hate how my stomach looks now.
Hi, after you have fully recovered, would it be worth investing in some good shape wear pants/knickers to boost your confidence a bit? I have the dreaded 'apron' stomach and if you want a dress to hide the tummy one of those empire line dresses are good for that. They cinch you in just below the bust and then just drape over your stomach. Good Luck, I hope you start to feel better in yourself soon x
I realized recently that I’ve been buying clothes too big and it’s because I’m overweight for first time in my life and I think I’m bigger than I actually am, so I’ve been collecting those clothing items and giving them away to my nieces who they would better suit & I’ll be more careful with future purchases on my measurements.
Very disappointed to hear that we in Canada can't get the And Begin product. Blast! Totally agree with the no makeup look. Fortunately,at age 74, i have quite beautiful skin, partly due to having cared for it, but also genetics. I'm at home 90% of the time and i used to not bother with any sort of makeup, until about 6 months ago. I'd pass by a mirror and think I looked washed out and kind of blah. i now use serum, moisturizer and then do my eyebrows. That is a huge game changer alone. I apply a light brown eye crayon, some cream blush, a lip gloss, and a spritz of a light floral fragrance. Takes less than 5 minutes and it makes a big difference in how I look and feel. For a formal evening occasion, I'd add a tinted moisturizer. As mentioned, I am lucky not to need foundation. Very impressed at how the revolution serum in a cream has transformed your skin. i almost wish I hadn't seen this because now i want it and i can't get it.. 😂
I’m right there with you Deirdre….a little bit or more! makeup makes me feel my best… can’t leave house without some. It’s just a habit now that I can’t stop. Love your videos ❤
Another fabulous video Deirdre! And you should never worry about going make up free, you look gorgeous and a lot younger than most at our age !!! Thank you for everything you do, Caroline x
You speak so much good sense! I sometimes worry that I am trying too hard to be trendy/current/relevant, whatever, but you reassure me that I’m not. I’m never going to join the Beige Brigade!
Thankyou for yet another great video Your videos have really helped me think more about my outfits And I agree with needing makeup I only wear a light to medium cover and a pale ish lipstick and some eyebrow colour But yea you are making me think Thanks again
Love your channel, your humor, your honesty. I look forward to them. I’ve bought a few items you mention, and love them too. The Wild deodorant, Vivia shoes (although I wish I would have bought them in another color) and some other stuff. Keep the videos coming.
I recently bought two summer dresses from Boden which fit very well and are flattering to my figure Thank you for showing them on your program Petite sizes are hard to find so this was prefect
Honestly, you’re a natural beauty❤really! Your skin is so nice. You could definitely go anywhere with no makeup….so jealous! Have a wonderful day gorgeous😊 and thanks for the tips.
Great video! Great red dress! Thank you for being so honest! I'm with you about shoes, Deirdre. And capri pants. Gadzooks!! Even when I was a plus size I never wore them. I never got out without a bright lipstick. Excellent point about pastels. To my eye, they are very aging. I see my sister doing beiges and greys a lot they make her look SO MUCH older. She's 77. When she wears a bold color like royal or purple she looks fabulous. I'm 77 and 50% grey, with sallow, neurtral, paler skin and I avoid pastels like the bubonic plague.
I have blue undertones in my skin. Outfit styles in cooler tones of blue, greens and purple tones are greatly appreciated. I also only wear silver jewelry so ideas for earrings and necklaces in silver are welcome.
I fully agree with everything you said. I apply sunscreen to my face every day and do not leave the house without some make up… at least some type of foundation. I look like a ghost without it! I enjoy moderate sunbathing and think a little color always makes me look better so applying foundation makes my face match the rest of my skin. I truly enjoy the tips you offer and look forward to each new video.❤
I will be 60 (I shudder😂) in 6 weeks. I totally agree, we should be open to new things even more as we get older. Do not stay in a rut whether it be fashion, food, hobbies, etc. Keep life interesting!! I wish the company delivered to the US because I would definitely try the cream/serum. I like my skin care routine but it never hurts to try something new. I applaud your bravery to show your skin on camera and I thank you for that. You are a braver woman than me.
Deirdre, you always look gorgeous. You look lovely without makeup. I do understand your point about hair and makeup though, I always have a bit of makeup everyday. Also nails, hands and feet! I end up looking frumpy because I wear too much fabric. I’m hiding flabby arms, large bosom, and a tummy: a nightmare! The biggest problem is that I was always slender and then ballooned post menopause; I’m always aware of the other self when I look in the mirror and I think that’s my worst enemy. I’m ok if I wear slim trousers, and best in winter; summer is a bit of a challenge. I miss wearing dresses and skirts terribly but I’ve yet found a way to style them without looking like a whale.
Hi Deirdre...i really enjoyed watching your video...im 64 years young 😊 i always try to experiment with clothes and makeup keeping it up to date... Wearing makeup, styling my hair and wearing nice clothes always makes me feel better within myself and far more confident. Also i do believe its not what your wearing its how you wear it.. Take care xx
I’m definitely off to bettersville and not frumpsville 🤣🤣🤣 I’m 72in 3 weeks….love trying new things all the time….thanks Deirdre for all your great videos…full of fun and good advice. 🌸
Deirdre how brave you are to show us nonmake-up face, & although not the same close up picture, so difficult to really tell, but you noticed the difference, & that is the main thing. I like you have worn make up since I was 15, my first job was a junior beauty consultant, for Miners & Outdoor Girl make-up, loved it! And received loads of make-up & some great training on how to apply make-up to myself & others, which has stayed with me over the years, with many make-up style changes as Im coming up 68, I have a summer make-up face & a winter make-up face, much lighter in the summer sometines on really hot days first thing on my face is a fix it cream, as a foundation it keeps whatever you put on in place for hours sometines all day, with maybe just a light touch up needed depending on weather & occasion. And on top of that just well matching skin tone concealer, light eyebrow powder, mascara, bit of blusher, light colour lipstick & an all over light dusting of translucent powder, very light, add a smile very summery, & ur good to go. u dont feel you have any make-up on at all. Agree about the shoes but would'nt wear Birkenstock's either. Thank you Deirdre your so polite you coukd never affend anyone. And thank you very much for the skin care link will definitely be trying this out. ♡
Thank you so much for this, Christine. I worked for a time for Estee Lauder and Clinique, so I know that these beauty companies offer really great training. I remember Miners and Outdoor Girl! Lots of love to you. XX
Your skin looks fantastic! Here in the states Tretinoin from your dermatologist is the gold standard, plus lots of serums and mineral sunscreen every single day. Korean skin care has really upped everyone’s game!
Dear Deirdre, I love your videos. they are so uplifting and full of joy and I agree with another subscriber your laugh/smile is contagious. Great energy!! I love it!! and I love tha act that you shared the skin care as well. I will check it out, although I live in the US and as they are not shipping out of the UK, that's a bummer, But I'm sure there are some ways.. Cheers, Love!! 🥰
As we age makeup becomes a challenge. Too much or too little can both age us, especially too much. The no makeup makeup look is worth perusing and learning how to apply. I am over 80 and accept my age, but I want to look my best. There are women who don't care about makeup and that is fine for them. We all age differently. But, "Nothing is worse than mutton dressed as lamb." Less is best and less can be more.
Deirdre how could weever be offended with you. NEVER. I love red and love the dress. When working I always wore red my power suit which I always got the order when wearing them. You make Mom and I laugh at frumpsviile. Love beautiful pink tenny runners. So pretty. We love the crop pants. Skin not available in United States only United Kingdom 😢 How can I get it? You look absolutely gorgeous. We have MISSED you so much. Love you lots and give our love to your sweet hubby Blessings Hugs Love Victoria and Barbara❤️❤️❤️
Hi Deirdre, great video....i totally agree, I love makeup and I do wear it!!!..some days I do the full face, but other days not so, but it does enhance us rather than the opposite even a bit of lipstick and mascara will help!!..just because I am 67 I am not about to go down the tube of not looking after myself and not being lazy!!!.....your comments were fine, nothing contensious at all!!!..... I do agree with sometimes trying a new look!! I am in the process of that at the moment just figuring out a newish look!!!....its our winter here so trying to keep warm & still look current.....great you have found something that suits your skin too!!!..I too have had some dry skin particularly after menopause as you say its such a Joy!!!!! looking forward to your next video too.....love from Margaret in South Australia.....(by the way the no makeup look was fine dont worry about that)
I do put on make-up every day, not too much... But I think that you looked very nice without make up and I imagine that it was difficult for you to show that photo for us. Félicitations ! (I follow you from France)
Love your videos, avid fan. I always get discouraged when you talk about frumpy shoes as I have struggled with xl feet all my life (size 11, with 4-6E width). They simply do not make attractive shoes in my size. I lived in men's tennis shoes, Birkenstocks or flip-flops most of my life, all of which I personally find quite ugly. Propet's velcro sandals are the only semi-attractive shoes that fit comfortably and can be worn with dresses and skirts. I guess I'll just have to live with a bit of frump. Fortunately, all of your other styling advice detracts the eyes from my frumpy feet. Thanks for your tips and honesty.
Have to agree about clunky/chunky shoes although I appreciate that those with foot problems may be a little compromised as to what they can and can't wear. I wear make up most days, it just makes me feel better in myself with the added bonus that I don't scare the postman if he happens to need a signature for a delivery 😁.
Hi lovely friends. I hope you like my light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek video! I'd love you to share your own views about what can make us look a bit frumpy. Lots of love to you all. Deirdre. XX

Frumpsville, really😂 love your Videos
I have found that pictures of myself in outfits sometimes helps me understand what is/is not working. For whatever reason, my mirror (or eyesight!) doesn’t give me the same perspective.
i've often heard this before as well. It also applied to decorating your home. Take a picture of a room and have a look:)
I always take a video of myself when trying on new clothes. It really does give you a whole different perspective.
Me too!
I think that has to do with the perception we have of ourselves and what we assume we look like. I find I seem to look completely different in photographs than I do when I look in the mirror. I ask my granddaughter if I look like that and she'll be sweet and say I never look like my pictures! LOL!

You are right on point. I believe it is a matter of good manners to be presentable in public. I seldom go anywhere with zero makeup at all.
Bronzer is a must for me!
I admire that you do that. I'm 68 and haven't really worn any makeup in over a decade, except for the rare special occasion.
Hi. I noticed one of those Dillard's Antonio Melanie Loro Piano fabric blazers (NWT) on Poshmark. Not sure what size you wear.
Thank you so much for commenting and love to you and all in Canada. XX
Lisa
Aww, thank you so much, Lisa. Have a great day. XX
I agree with all your points. The worst descriptive word is frumpy and tips to avoid it are welcomed! Thanks for your frank and open review. ❤
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, Angelica. (What a beautiful name you have). XX
Very sweet video.
Thanks a lot.
Good tips.
You are always so frank and critical about yourself, but believe me...
You are looking so attractive and put together,
that's why, you are a role model for us.
Thanks again and greetings from Germany
Thank you so much, Elisabeth. Love to you and everyone in Germany. XX
Absolutely! Thank you for your comments. XX
All pastel makes me think of the Queen Mother. I loved her when I was little, but I don’t want to look like her!
In Florida, it's common to see women in their 50s and 60s and older who don't wear makeup but have their hair dyed in vibrant colors like blue, purple, pink, or green. To pull that look off at any age, makeup and color-coordinated clothing are necessary to complement such bold hair choices.
I think no make up and hair dyed in vibrant colors is extreme frumpiness.
@@christineoboyle1267 I agree. Whenever I see them, I can't help but wonder if they are actually looking at their own reflection in a mirror.
Awww, Kate, you are so sweet. I feel so humbled and grateful that I’ve been helpful for you. Lots of love. Xx
I don’t look good in sleeveless tops like u do😫 that cuts out a lot of items. But I work around it! Yes to bright colors and cool handbags and shoes!!
Everything you said is absolutely right I am 68 and my skin is 55 because I looked after it all my life am very lucky But am not as confident with what I wear until I found you thanks 🎉❤
Wonderful! XX
Thanks for being so tactful about some of our clothing choices. Since being diagnosed with osteoporosis most of my footwear is not inspired, I miss the old days of 3+ inch heels.
Xxxx
As you know!❤❤🎉❤
Yes! It’s soooo easy to fall into that slump of not caring/comfort! As I get older I really have to watch out for it! Don’t want to be old & stodgy
XXX
I always think I’ll try new styles! I buy the clothes then I find I’m too chicken to wear them. I like mostly classic styles and really try not to be frumpy. I’ve got to get braver with some changes. lol! I also try to never leave the house without makeup on. You always look fresh and very pretty! Thanks for the helpful hints! I love watching your videos!!
I'm with u 💯 on the make up. I won't even tidy my garden without it on. 😂. I do think that my skincare has restored some confidence but not all. You should do some hair and make up tutorials 👍🥰. I've always admired your hair
I love your videos! I am 63 years old and look more fabulous since I started following you and using your suggestions. Thank you! You are awesome!
Thank you so much. XX
You look so much better in the red dress than the model. You look gorgeous!
Oh thank you! XX
I just love your videos for the fashion but even more for your humour. Never disappointing. You present your content in a very lovely way.
Thank you so much. XX
Loved the video , totally agree with it , so many women look frumpy and old because of wrong clothes and footwear ❤
I’m right there with you Deirdre….a little bit or more! makeup makes me feel my best… can’t leave house without some. It’s just a habit now that I can’t stop. Love your videos ❤

Agree, dear Deirdre, oh yes, the spots - they come to us... I see the difference at your skin with the treatment.
It's really made a big difference. XX
Fabulous, Deirdre! Your videos make my day - you are a ray of sunshine 🌞 🥰 xxx
Another fabulous video Deirdre! And you should never worry about going make up free, you look gorgeous and a lot younger than most at our age !!! Thank you for everything you do, Caroline x
That’s so sweet of you, thank you, Caroline xx
You speak so much good sense! I sometimes worry that I am trying too hard to be trendy/current/relevant, whatever, but you reassure me that I’m not. I’m never going to join the Beige Brigade!
Love the red dot dress you are wearing. Looks great on you!
The all-pastels advice was interesting; thanks. .What are your thoughts about pale neutrals which have been so popular recently?
Excellent advice and good ideas. Thankyou ❤
Thankyou for yet another great video
Your videos have really helped me think more about my outfits
And I agree with needing makeup I only wear a light to medium cover and a pale ish lipstick and some eyebrow colour
But yea you are making me think
Thanks again
Love your channel, your humor, your honesty. I look forward to them. I’ve bought a few items you mention, and love them too. The Wild deodorant, Vivia shoes (although I wish I would have bought them in another color) and some other stuff. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much! Lots of love.XX
Just speak the truth. Don’t we tune in for your expert advice? We are free to ignore it as we please. 😊Thanks for another great helpful video!
I recently bought two summer dresses from Boden which fit very well and are flattering to my figure Thank you for showing them on your program Petite sizes are hard to find so this was prefect
Lovely if you can afford a Boden wardrobe!
Deirdre, would you please share the shade and brand of lipstick you are wearing in this video ? 🙏
You look fantastic in that dress!
Oh thank you! Xx
The réd dress looks fab on you❤
You're hair looks nice and healthy! Did you get a trim? It really looks great!
Yes, it's a little shorter and I think I prefer it! XX
Honestly, you’re a natural beauty❤really! Your skin is so nice. You could definitely go anywhere with no makeup….so jealous! Have a wonderful day gorgeous😊 and thanks for the tips.
I love the dress I've bought the blouse as I need to cover my arms .
I loved this! “Stuck on bottom of your leg” - I’m still laughing!
Thank you for showing your skin. It means a lot for a woman like myself
You are so welcome! XX
Yes Deidre is such a lovely person
Ha ha!! I love this, Mia, and thank you for sharing. XX
@@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre love your channel!
I have blue undertones in my skin. Outfit styles in cooler tones of blue, greens and purple tones are greatly appreciated. I also only wear silver jewelry so ideas for earrings and necklaces in silver are welcome.
I agree with everything you've mentioned and especially about make-up like lipstick, blusher, and eye make-up. It works wonders.
I support all your comments. Happy for your new lovely complexion❤
OMG! The Velcro shoes!! Sooo glad you covered that. Big no-no!
Luv your energy! you look great
Love to see a video on how to apply eye makeup. Thanks
that red dress looks great
Deirdre, you always look gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing. I'm sure some of your experiences are also true of many of us! XX
Correct Deirdre slim line ones great baggy ones umpa lumpa
Lovely video Deirdre!! Thank you!
Very good point, Sandra. XX

I’m 72in 3 weeks….love trying new things all the time….thanks Deirdre for all your great videos…full of fun and good advice. 🌸
Love it!! Lots of love xx
XX

Thank you Deirdre for a great vlog .I definitely need a revamp .x.
I love your suggestions. I would love to hear about foundations as my skin has changed yet again.
Cute red dress. During hot summer months, I like very little make, ie highlighter powder under the eyes & lip stick & that’s it 😊
Deirdre how could weever be offended with you. Love you lots and give our love to your sweet hubby

You are absolutely correct on all points, especially the all over pastels.
I threw my velcro shoes out cos of you. Lol. Replaced them with nice Clark s slipons
Nice!! I'm sure you will love them! XX
Oh my gosh I wonder if I can order that dress here in Canada 😢it’s beautiful and so flattering . Have to figure my size out in Marks and Spencer’s
Loved today's video. Great tips to keep the frump at bay.
Glad it was helpful! XX
Have to agree about clunky/chunky shoes although I appreciate that those with foot problems may be a little compromised as to what they can and can't wear. I wear make up most days, it just makes me feel better in myself with the added bonus that I don't scare the postman if he happens to need a signature for a delivery 😁.
