I really enjoyed Yog-Sothoth (like all of the elder ones really, with the possible exception of Dagon) but I did find myself swarmed regularly and that got tough to manage sometimes.
This is the easiest Elder One to fight, the core box Elder Ones are much harder, then Black Goat is hardest. I have given up on knowing how Dagon plays since I wasn’t a Kickstarter backer.
hey Zee, thanks for the review. Is it safe to say that you liked the game the more you played it? Is CDmD the kind of game where the more you play, you begin appreciating it more and the issues, like the small tiles, just become forgotten and the fun outweighs the issues? I am still on the fence on this one. Thanks
It’s my most played game with my daughter who is 10. The fun is in failing a scenario and trying to win another way next time you tackle the scenario. There’s a lot of bum rushing to the Elder One at the end of the game to try and kill them ASAP.
Other than miniature production value, I found Mansions of Madness 2E to be an overall better experience. CDMD felt generic by comparison. It could be about any dungeon crawler with a timer, since the focus is on fighting what's basically an endless hoard of baddies until you can finally kill the Great Old One.
I wonder if your 7/10 ranking has changed at all from your initial review

Thanks for reviewing. My favorite game and I sure hope more elders get made
Thanks for reviewing this amazing game, Zee! I find this Elder God the easiest to play against.

Nice one! Hey Zee: what about the review of AHCG The Blob that ate everything?
Got this expansion, but can't find the black goat :/
