Ya, I'm hopeful that it'll be much better after the fix. Tech told me there's numerous upgrades to prevent that issue from reoccurring. I really love that radio. So, making it as robust as I can is the goal!
@udx-483muddbucket5 , I have a 2995DX-HP that was only 4 months old when the finals fried. I'm taking it to a local radio tech that was a former Ranger tech to get fixed instead of sending it to Ranger in CA. For a few days, I was running her wide open and didn't think whatsoever that the finals would burn up like that. I found out from the radio tech that the 2995 series base stations burn finals easily. Kinda bummed since I love that radio!
@@268Arizona I have a friend local that has two. Same thing with him. working one evening, turned it off. Turned on the next evening and no transmit or receive. He replaced voltage regulator and finals I believe and nothing. Had to send it in. You're lucky you have someone familiar with it. I've heard there is a replacement final that is more robust and operates the same without failure. I don't know that to be fact. Good luck. ✌✌

They are beautiful radios. I would like to have another "Big Black" radio. Maybe one day. ✌✌
Good contact brother. 73
Golden Gate
Thanks Dug. ✌✌
@udx-483muddbucket5 You nicely rearranged the radio gear too. Looks fresh, Golden Gate ready to get on that videogate.
@@OperatorGoldenGate I've redone it since this video. It looks a lot better. Hopefully we'll get some good audio soon. ✌✌
UDX483, I finally settled with the settings 9 tone 7 modul for my M2 mic. Ranger RCI 2970N4 likes the settings. UDX268
I would like to have a newer RCI and I'm sure I will someday. I'm thinking of using the 2950 for am only since it worked well there. ✌✌

Hei Steve, jeg ser på et program om fangstmenn. Er du langt fra byen Beaufort? Det ser røft ut, men veldig vakkert! 73
I'm about 50 miles North of Beaufort. Beaufort is a lot like it is here being Coastal and inland Low Country. ✌✌
