World Mechanics Is there more than one coolant temp sensor for this engine? And this 100% cannot be done without draining the coolant?

How do you take out the tube that’s literally above the coolant sensor??

Do you really need to drain the coolant? If you take the coolant cap off and allow the pressure to equalize how much collant could possible come from that port?

so anyone whos looking to do this now- no you dont, I lost maybe 1/8th to 1/16 of my reservoir doing this. I would top off afterwards however, and let it cool off!

We have a 2007 Jeep Compass 2.4 and the cooling fans under the hood are working and running as we tested them. Engine warms up but the cooling fans are not coming on to cool the engine. What’s causing the fans to not come on?

We have a 2020 Jeep Renegade Sport 2.4 cyl. With the radiator, where the upper hose connects, it came off with the clamp. It looks like something came out from where the hose was connected but I don't know what that part would be called. Help please!

I wonder if many of the P0128 thermostat codes are because of the temperature sensor. Only when I got cold did mine act up so is it the therm sticking, stick open or the sensor just not sending the right temp codes. I watch the temp when driving and it stays at like 122 and then big jump to 153 then slowly rises, eventually stay at 185. I think about my 99 WJ with 4.0 , you know if that sicker was stick open or not opening. . Everyone says get a new therm and all is good.. I just question if the sensors are sensitive. I had an air temp intake sensor code then it cleared itself. Some cases my P1028 clears itself, other times I disconnect battery and gone for a few hundred miles.. Got my own code reader now so can reset it. I have being 4wd disables and in limp mode constantly..

Can you do one for a Grand Cherokee? There is nothing out there outlining where its location is besides the Crappy MOPAR Diagram.
I tried everything to find it. it almost seems that I would have to remove a bunch of lines, including AC lines to have clear access.

      Hi Enrique,
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on the 3.6L engine is installed into a water jacket at rear of the cylinder head, if you stand in front of the vehicle, facing the engine, it is on the right hand side, right at the back.

I have. 2017 Renegade. The AC stopped working. The clutch is free and it engages when turn on the AC. The radiator fan does not come. From my understanding it is suppose to come on when you use Max AC.
The fan also does not come on until the car temp reaches 228.
I jump the fan relay and the fan come . I don’t know it’s it’s a bad fan or coolant temp sensor.
I think it’s a two speed fan , what tells the fan to come on during normal driving and what the AC is turned on ?
