I was able to get it free from twonotes by being an owner of a torpedo studio and a collection of dynir’s. Now I’m using the NAM amp modeling software to make profiles of my own amps to use in the codex section of genome. Such a great plugin.
After trying countless of Neural, Overloud etc products, the Genome wins the 1st price for the most dynamic and user friendly plugin! Simply awesome and inspiring!
The sound engineer side of me was completely taken by the look of that EQ. This is just a great UI, and those captures in particular were truly enjoyable.
Awesome work on the review. The fact that they added NAM support in there, gets Two Notes a big double thumbs up. As far as captures are concerned, I mostly play the ones I made from my own gear (pinned up on ToneHunt, user 2dor) for obvious reasons. As far as the DynIRs are concerned, my favorites so far are Michael's BHG Hidden Gem pack - those 3 variations on that legendary cab are amazing! There's one mic in particular that I really love there which is the Sennheiser MD409 that works so well for guitar tones - killer pack!
It's awesome to see more and more companies include Neural Amp Modeler in their software. It's exactly what Steven was hoping for AFAIU! The fact that the NAM neural-network creates higher quality captures than both Kemper, ToneX and Quad Cortex is just a plus (or they _can_ be of higher quality as long as the person capturing the amp/pedal knows what they are doing). Steven has even said that the neural-network in NAM is quite simple, so we can expect future implementations to be of even higher quality. I also hope that more developers start using NAMs parametric capture features to model full amps and pedals instead of just snapshot captures.
"I also hope that more developers start using NAMs parametric capture features to model full amps and pedals" Oh yes. This is the future (Aida also does it but it's also very limited so far it seems).
I think you sold me on this after you started playing "SIN CITY" and the other ac/dc riffs! This is only $70 and that was a great crunch tone for software!🤘
I just started really diving into the Genome today. Had a blast. Had more fun with the clean tone presets. Wasn't liking the gain tones so much as far as presets. But I'm honestly just learning all this digital stuff at age 52.
Amazing software, thankyou for the video. In lieu of Neural DSP releasing some kind of all-in-one suite to include the purchased amps, cabs and effects into one UI, this is the best thing going for studio work. It can be used live also with wireless MIDI hardware footswitches.
This is such a cool piece of software. That I get it for free just because I own Two Notes hardware left me a bit stunned, to be honest. I hope Genome and Opus and other Two Notes hardware grow ever closer in terms of interconnectivity and software/preset exchange.
I can't believe I got this for free, - just because I had downloaded the Wall of Sound software and bought a couple of cheap (great sounding) cab packs a while back. This is a great amp/cabs/FX suite!
Funny I met my guitar hero last week and he had Genome installed!!! Dude made he last tour of his career using Kempers. Won’t say who it is but he’s a legend. Like the time of nice guitar pedals now you can have the same tools as big names for a few bucks. Crazy! I personally use genome because it’s the best way to use .nam AND have the best cabs packs on the market right now

I was going to go ahead and buy it and when you mentioned the free offer from TwoNotes, it clicked. I had it already but never fired up. It is like Christmas for me now yaaayyyy
I got the email, barely looked at it, and thought it was another free cab, didn't realize it was a free amp. I wound up seeing some talking about it on one of those forums and read a little after clicking a link I got a free amp I didn't realize I had.
Awesome as always…. Appreciate you brother. Question for you and anyone else. What headphones are you using with your modelers? I’ve some nice Weston IEMs but they can get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours and old Grados that have seen better days. Looking for new over the ears headphones… been checking out the Sennheiser hd 650..
YES! I've been hoping you would share your experience with the Genome. To my ears, there's nothing as good as the Genome or the Opus. Love the song references in here. Yes, I did go into Dokken mode for a bit and then had to woodshed the solo for In My Dreams. That's the fun for me in the Genome. It instantly inspires me and has me playing those old familiar songs.
Your NAM capture and your IRs sound exactly like you normally sound with the real gear Leon. It might be sacrilegious to write this on here, but your tone with your NAM capture of your Boogie sounds as good and as 3D as you sound through your real Boogie amp in other videos. Your NAM capture is in another realm beyond the same amp model in your Fractal units. The companies that bring out the hardware guitar pedal that runs dual NAM captures in true stereo, are going to severely disrupt the amp simulator pedal market and part of the floor and rack modeler market this year. ToneX did that last year, but that was just the beginning. With NAM being open source, where anybody can use the code, we are going to see a plethora of NAM enabled pedals, floor modelers and possibly even rack units soon. I'm using the NAM plugin and York Audio IRs for my "amp simulation" tool for now. There are going to be many new NAM enabled products released this year, and I'll be watching to see which of these becomes the dominant one out in the real world with users. Two things that will determine that are A) how well the product is supported and B) hardware pedal/floor modeler/rack unit integration with the software environment and how elegant and easy it is to set up and use right away. NAM is new tech and free to use by anyone so there's an intense race happening right now as I type this. Music tech companies are racing to bring software + hardware NAM solutions to market. Genome looks awesome, however, there are going to be some mighty competitors going up against Genome and other NAM enabled platforms released this year. The company with an elegant NAM enabled product that becomes dominant in the commercial market will have a similar business model to Line 6 - multiple hardware solutions for different applications, at different (affordable) price points, integrated with a software counterpart, and a constant stream of updates based on customer feedback. There's room for a professional solution as well that's more expensive, offers a greater magnitude of options/tweakability much like Fractal Audio products. Let the disruption begin!
They are already dabbling with component level capturing. just wait until they start doing captures for effects like modulation delay and compression. The entire industry will be flipped on its head.
Indeed@@ironblast5 because anyone will be able to "design" whatever effect they want without having to learn how to write any code, or learn anything about designing an algorithm to create effects. People will just chain together existing pedal/rack unit/plugin effect combinations however they want and capture the result and put THAT out as a new pedal. The best curators and sound designers will replace the current A-list digital algorithm designers. The tastemakers in the future of music gear won't be nerdy dudes with computer science degrees. It will just be people with really good taste who can also capture something well, with good fidelity.
Mono sum doesn't seem to sound better than having 2 actual performances on each side (and mono summed) hehe. I have a "mono sum" shortcut button in my DAW to check for that kind of thing hehe.
TH-U Overloud (or TH-U Rig Player), in my estimation is far and away the best sounding software , though strictly for Metal Neural DSP have a slight edge, hell get both still a fraction of the price of any high end amp modelers
The plug in thing is really starting to peak my interest especially now im getting older and not gigging as much ect ect . Ive never played guitar through studio monitors, only moddelers through power amp and cab. If a bloke was thinking of dipping his toes how much would it cost to set up and good quality (studio) rig?
Playing with headphones / earbuds is not bad too :) I love to play with my ATHM50x headphones or my Shure SE215 IEMs, and i'm pretty sure even my stock smartphone earbuds would sound cool with this setup.
Hi, NAM alone with a high quality profile when played in stereo is responsible for pretty much all of it. Then he's on high oversampling and not sure about the buffer size but all those parameters can be tweaked. ;)
Well Genome isn't taking anything either on my Mac@@mcadderunless I go to very, very low latency of very high oversampling. The best for you to give it a try and see how it works for you?
That was Hot , a sound for every one of your styles.. I dont think i even have to ever have to listen to anyone to feel inspired and dig their tunes be it satch , vai to malmsteen when you can do it all better... go put those fingers in the freezer b4 they melt away on you mate... 😊 🌏🦘 🦘 🦘....
Who is using and enjoying Genome?
I am. It works great with hardware pedals btw.
It's the best!
And it was free 😂

I use Genome. I have a Two Notes Opus and Genome seems to be a software version of the OPUS with added effects and modeling features.
Waiting for them to add a Wah, a Whammy, and a few other effects. The compressor and EQ sections are AMAZING!
After trying countless of Neural, Overloud etc products, the Genome wins the 1st price for the most dynamic and user friendly plugin! Simply awesome and inspiring!
Yeah, imo it sounds better than Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Neural, Overloud, Helix Native, and S-Gear.
The best overall ampsim I’ve used.
My thoughts exactly! @@johnhill762
The sound engineer side of me was completely taken by the look of that EQ. This is just a great UI, and those captures in particular were truly enjoyable.
The UI is slick hey

This made me check my Two Notes account and it turns out I have a license. Can't wait to mess with it. Great video as always!
Can't wait for a JB deep dive!

Bought this and still have to delve into it, thanks for giving all these tips! Keep ROCKIN Leon!

That sounds awesome Leon and your taste in tones are exactly mine - super job Leon
Thank you kindly!
Your AWESOME Leon 💕stay well my Friend
I wanted to buy Amp Room marshall suite, but got this for free. It sounds amazing. Love the captures.

Between Genome and the new Mesa captures from Tonex my amps are getting jealous
13:07 When you added the “body” and “thickness…” 😮
I have the Gnome, Haven't had the time to dig my fangs into it Yet ! soon !!!!!
Wow!!! This is amazing!! It really eliminates the need for outboard gear. Loved what you did with the Boss OD pedal!!!
King´s X riff always make me happy!
😂 I love the alternative names and graphic representations of famous amps and pedals these plugins come up with.

Those big stretches in the solo :D
@@LeonTodd Right?! Pulls out tapping technique.
Really cool demo!
A whole guitar studio incl. NAM and high quality virtual gear for that price is a good deal!!!
A great product for sure very affordable
is this better than Bias FX?... If you say so I'll demo it
@LeonTodd Once again and as always..........TONE CHASING!!!!!!!! IT NEVER ENDS!!!! "D"

@LeonTodd Do you have a central place where one can get all of your NAM captures? I'm a Patreon member, and i didn't see anything there....
I'll add some to patreon later today!
Sure perfect for me, but why not as kemper player or tonex or dimehead. I mean genome player is a future
Great demo! No cats on this one, which is a bit gutting if I'm honest, but great tones and playing.
Too hot for them today!

It sounds “believable” if you know what I mean. Lots of modelling amps fail at this. Im tempted!
Good way of putting it!
Any idea what the samples/length of the dynirs?
I saw an older video you did on wet/dry/wet setup. You still use this live? Pros and cons? Is it worth it?
Another great demo my friend, does this come as a stand alone as well?
Not at the moment
this is the new standard
The plug in thing is really starting to peak my interest especially now im getting older and not gigging as much ect ect .
Ive never played guitar through studio monitors, only moddelers through power amp and cab.

Something like a Focusrite 2i2 or SSL2+ interface plus some KRK monitors is more than enough to start having some real good fun IMO

Temwonotes FTW
Maybe it’s time to invest in a laptop again, get myself armed and ready, bloody hell that took me back a bit 🤗🤗🤗
Waiting for a shootout of this vs Guitar Rig, Helix Native, and other comparable “guitar-oriented” suites.
I love it but wish it was also a standalone
it's in the works
This is a great tour/primer/introduction!
Wow, this is great. Sweet demo, Leon 😊
Is this the standard version?
Standalone would be nice.
Sounds amazing

В этих модулирующих штучках не динамики! Слишком все ровненько.
