Alligators are awesome! When I (Jay) was younger, I tent camped in a campground where there were large (6ft+) gators just hanging around sunning themselves maybe 50ft from the tent. Looks like a lot of fun! The manatees look amazing. Great underwater footage too!
Hi Jay! That’s awesome, but I doubt I’d ever get Scott to tent camp near any Florida waters again 😂. Bears, absolutely, gators nope 😉. I think they are just like every other wild critter. Respect and be aware. Hello to Mel!

We have kayaked at Silver Springs and I (Michelle) am still not over my fear of snakes or gators. LOL Brian keeps trying but no luck. I feel your pain, Scott! We've been 3 times and we still haven't seen any of the monkeys. Hope you're well! - Michelle & Brian

The good thing about kayaking is that you can get close and the same level with wildlife. I was in Silver Springs just last week but didn't go kayaking. Next time I definitely will. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching 👍

Haha aww Scott, I do the same thing! Before we went snorkeling with manatees I watched a million alligator videos 🤣. It looked worth it though! So much wildlife. Your cousin was so fun! The macadamia/ coconut crust sounds amazing! We haven’t had our alarm go off yet, but we do most of our cooking outside because we are scared it will! Loved this vlog! 💕

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of alligators, but I do have a healthy respect for them! 😉 I'm not gonna wrestle them or say, "Crikey!" 🙅♀️ And I will not drag a raw chicken behind me or take my pets to see them! 🐈 They stay on their side of the wall, and I'll do the same! 👍 Beautiful waters and so cool to see the manatees!!💙 Those turtles are amazingly colorful!! 🌈 That sunset was stunning!! 🌅❤

We talked about overcoming a fear on our last video as well! Same wavelength thing again. LOL Being in the water near gaters is definitely something that we would have to overcome as well.
I would assume bear spray would work on gators. I know it works on people, so...

@@TilFurtherNotice it was at the beginning and ok as the video progressed. I use a small Rode mic with an iPhone attachment. Also have a Rode mic on my mirrorless camera. Could go with a wireless mic, but pricier. Love the images from this video, plus you guys had fun. 😀👍
We have a rode mic on one camera and nothing on the other. Good enough for government work lol. We enjoyed it!
We just went there today. We did not Kayak since we had our Aussie with us. We did see 2 gators from the Sea Hunt deck. We will go back without our Pet and then kayak / paddle board there.

Haha growing up in Mississippi, Louisiana and SC I’m so use to swimming in waters full of gators I don’t even think twice about it. Same as sharks in the ocean, just try and don’t think about it. You know they are there but really don’t bother you.

Alligators scare the hell out of me even though I'm a Florida resident that has spent many hours kayaking among them

Myakka River State Park is a great place to paddle with alligators
When paddling with gators;
Carry a spare paddle
Do not let any of your body parts dangle in the water
I prefer sit-in kayaks rather than sit-on -tops bc the sit -ins give you more stable platform
In all cases give alligators and every other wild animal as much space as they need ......and then some
