    I just balanced my EOS R (660g) + Canon RF 50mm 1.2 (950g) on the Ronin SC successfully. I needed to use both plates to make clearance for the lens and I found i needed to mount it slightly heavier toward the back to work best. I can't tilt the camera all the way up, but it works fine.

    Anyone tried balancing a Canon R3 with a 2.8 RF lens like the 15-35 or 24-70? I just got my RS4 and have struggled getting it to balance this setup. It says it can handle up to 6lbs on the RS4 and that the R3 is compatible with it as well. Been a huge headache trying to balance it all properly.

    Thanks for the video! Have you had any luck with the Nikon Z6 + the Z 14-30mm lens or 24-70mm lens? The eye piece keeps hitting the Ronin SC motor when we try to balance it. Really appreciate the help!

    • @TreeTanksDev
      @TreeTanksDev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there! What i did to counter this (without buying a smallrig adjustment plate) is to adjust the ronin sc adjustment plate till the eyepiece clears hitting the axis. It will be off balance and front heavy. Turn on the Ronin SC while supporting the camera with your hand. Once the Ronin SC turns on and if it able to balance without your hand supporting the lens for at least more than 10 secs, hit the Autotune button on the Ronin App on your mobile phone. It will strengthen the motors and then pray it works by attempting a 360 barrel roll. If that manages to work then you’re all set. Not recommended for long usage, max 10 minutes then let the motors cool down a bit before continuing to film. It is troublesome so unless you wanna get the smalllrig plate which will solve the issue. Hope this helps! 😀

    I've copied your smart method to setup my EOS R with a 17-40mm and the EF adaptar, It worked! Got the setup balanced, the only thing is that I was not able too switch to the barrel mode as the eyepiece was blocking to get it in position, unfortunatly the eyepiece on the EOS R can't be removed as its attached to the body, the only way too use the barrel mode is to mount the camere while the gimbal is already in barrel mode, this setup does put dome pressure on the gimbal motor tho...would you have any other suggestions?

      Oh no! Sorry dude i totally missed out your comment. On your Quick Adjustment Plate, instead of pushing all the way to heavy. Try setting it at about 3-4 on the marker. It worked for me. I'm just uploading a new video on that as well. Sony A7III with the 85mm F1.4 on Ronin SC. =)

    sorry, my english is not good, I tried setting ronin sc with a Canon 70D lens 8-15 I felt when balancing there was something imperfect in the "roll" section but strangely when "auto tune" the statement was "excellent" and when tried it still could not "roll" always deviates, the lens spec [540 g] camera spec [
    675 g] .. it does seem imposing, can you help me

    This is super helpful. Thank you! Quick question: what cable do you use to connect Ronin SC to the Canon 550D? The cable in the box doesn't seem compatible - is there an adaptor? Thanks!

    • @TreeTanksDev
      @TreeTanksDev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The canon 550d is a dslr. The ronin sc is more for mirrorless cameras. There are only like 8 dslrs compatible with the ronin sc but i dont think 550d is one of them. For 550d i would recommend the Zhiyun weebill-s

      @@TreeTanksDev Ah thanks! Does that mean that on your video, you just wanted to show the balancing act even though you have never used the 550D on Ronin SC? Also, this guy seems to take it around to shoot on Canon 550D with a Ronin SC gimbel: th-cam.com/video/JDigI1A8aXM/w-d-xo.html . What do you think? Won't a converter (micro to mini usb) help? Thanks!

    maaf, bahasa inggris saya kurang baik, saya coba setting ronin sc dengan canon 70D lensa 8-15 saya merasa pada waktu menyeimbangkan ada yg kurang sempurna dibagian "roll" namun anehnya waktu "auto tune" keterangannya "excellent" dan ketika dicoba tetep tidak bisa "roll" selalu melenceng , spek lensa [ 540 g ] spek camera [
    675 g ] .. memang sih terkesan memaksakan, dapatkah anda membantu saya

    I don't know if this will help. I got the Canon RP I have the one that came with the kit lens and adapter. The lens is the 24-105 mm EF but I have to use the adapter for it. I also have a rode mic on the top which also helps with balance. So I actually got it balanced I turned on the gimbal and it works it moves in every direction I can't point it straight to the ground. Like if I'm holding it and I pointed to the ground I can probably get my toes in the frame. The same thing with pointing to the sky basically it can go 90% down and 90% up anything else it'll just fall flat back or flat up then I have to recalibrated. Also have you or anyone you know have any issues connecting the Ronin SC to the app I can't connect to Bluetooth. I have the Note 8 so I know the phone shouldn't be an issue.

      You need the Ronin S instead. Or Zhiyun Weebill-S. Ronin Sc was designed for mirrorless cameras.

    I've been trying for a couple of hours to get a Canon EOS R + 24-240mm to work, but it will always fall after a certain angle. I can get it to balance, but in usage, it will fail. Too bad, would have been cool.

      Yeah that sounds like a difficult setup. The Ronin S and Weebill-S should be to handle that.

    Hi TreeTanksDev,
    Noob question but I just got the ronin sc and finished balancing my camera with auto tune too. So now how do I start? First off do I need to have the usb cord connected from my camera to the gimbal for it to work? Also, now that everything is balanced, do I just click record on my camera and hold the gimbal in the lock modes? Not sure how I even get started. I'm a complete noob so hope you can help me.
    Subbed btw! I saw your other balancing video and it helped me alot!

    • @TreeTanksDev
      @TreeTanksDev  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Thanks for subbing! =) You are able to use the Ronin SC without the USB Cable, which means you use it solely to stabilize your footage. Things like pressing record on your camera instead of pressing the Record button on the Ronin SC, etc. You wont be able to use certain features on the DJI Ronin App. Use the DJI Ronin App to connect to your DJI Ronin SC via bluetooth to do some gimbal settings such as 360 Barrel Roll if you require. What kind of videos do you intend to shoot and may i know which camera setup you are using? =)
