John Clayton & Jeff Hamilton feat. by WDR BIG BAND - Sibylle's Day

Soon to be 50 years old, bassist John Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton share a musical career that has not only driven small formations such as pianist Monty Alexander's trio, but also continues to drive the "Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra", founded back in 1986. Their drive and energy are unbroken:
Together with the WDR BIG BAND, the musical piece "Sibyl's Day" will be performed. Composed and arranged by Jeff Hamilton, the WDR BIG BAND features not only Jeff Hamilton himself on drums but also Rob Bruynen on trumpet and Johan Hörlén on alto saxophone. Recorded in September 2019 at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne.

If there was a Best Dressed Drummer Award, he would win every year.
John Clayton ( a string bass player) is conducting. Both gentlemen played in the Monty Alexander Trio for years as well as backing Diana Krall. They also founded the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra with John’s brother, saxophonist Jeff Clayton.
