Thank you so much, this is really thorough! I’m starting into late game flower breeding myself and it was getting really overwhelming thinking of what colors to try for, so I set a challenge: breed one flower that represents each character so I can plant them outside the visitor cabins where their friends are. For example I’m making a glow effect red bow blossom to represent Hello Kitty, a pink and purple ombré ghost gleam for Kuromi, etc. It’s been really really fun and has given a sense of purpose to breeding 😊
When you use the merry go round method, do you know if leaving the flowers in the first ring affect anything? Usually I let them grow until pre-bloom or fully bloomed to where I can see if there’s a pattern/hybrid or not.
I tend to dig them up to see what they are right away. They can affect things to some degree -once they are at a given stage, they can be considered parents for nearby new spawns and are then part of the set up; if you use patch actions, you use up more fertilizer but that may increase spawn rates in nearby patches; and by taking up a space, they block one potential spawn place for the target flower.
um im gonna start when the game realease this month but i read that you only get one type of meadow flower and cannot get the other type to reproduce i got that info on the official wiki this is all new to me so i am a bit confused at least sunblink said when i emailed them that the switch version is a single payment then you can play
Flowers are a whole process. You start out with one kind of flower that grows natively in merry meadow from the seeds you find, but then you get seed packets for the other 3 types from wish me mel. and then her visitors help you unlock flowers in additional biomes. I will probably have another flower basics overview before we get to flower breeding on switch
This is so helpful! Thank you so much for putting this together!

Can effects transfer to all flower types?
That's the theory for the ones we have so far. It is confirmed for iridescent. It seems likely for glow.
