    The front bag of the Agilite K19 is feature-packed and leads the division in plate carriers with its innovative design. The front of the carrier includes a front zippered pouch that can be used to store your maps or flat papers that you are working without in the field.
    The sides of the front bag include the integrated tubes cummerbund and a segment of side padding to keep the tubes or any other equipment from jamming into your side.
    On the rear side of the front bag, we see the entire inside of the carrier has a padded breathable material on all body-facing portions.
    The shoulder straps have an amazingly simple design where you open the hook and loop cover and then simply adjust the strap. You then just close the cover again and you’re all set. It is advised to also adjust the connection into the front bag for the best fit possible.
    The cummerbund includes a cordora portion along with an elastic portion to help the cummerbund move and flex on the body. You simply loosen or tighten the side buckles for different body shapes or clothing configurations. Removing the need to adjust a ton of straps and elastic bands just because you put on a coat.
    Pros and Cons!
    Pros:
    Insane weight distribution - This is the pinnacle of this carrier. You can carry MORE weight and it feels like you have less on because it’s distributed smartly. The comfort of this carrier blows everything else away.
    Cummerbund (controversial) - The adjustment and installation make the cummerbund amazing in my eyes. I like being able to just adjust and resize on the fly. I don’t need any stupid elastic cords or other dumb. This method fits me perfectly and is extremely fast at the same time.
    Quick disconnects - We see four QDs that work great to help you in whatever situation you may be in. It doesn’t matter if you’re injured or stuck, you have a way to get this carrier off easily and quickly.
    Updated version adjustments - Seeing the updated version with the placard support, AMAP III integration changes, and removal of the buckles on the rear bag is a welcome improvement. We see that Agilite is constantly adjusting based on real-world feedback of the carrier in the field.
    Cons:
    Loss of molle row on the front bag - The new version uses a loop-backed molle row but takes a step backward by only using 3 rows. For some confusing reason, the 3rd row also terminates at the bottom of the carrier, effectively giving you only 2 functional rows of molle unless you want a dangly mess of junk at the bottom of the carrier.
    No cable management - For a carrier being used in the field, I’d expect a way to integrate a simple PTT or route my cables in a more organized way with a simple cable loop. Having a way to push excess cords into the plate bag via an access hole or small Velcro segment would be a huge bonus.
    Front zippered pocket isn’t that useful - You can put maps in it. That’s about it.

      @@ThinLineDefenseCo Walsh, I didn’t get this Agilite plate carrier, I actually ended up going with a Warrior Assault Systems LPC V2. The reason I went with this carrier is because the price I got it for and the features. It’s similar to the Crye JPC but it’s far more comfortable with thermoform front and back for padding and airflow and it has cumberbund tubes which I wanted. The carrier isn’t very easy to find and they sell from $230 to almost $300 just for the carrier and I ended up getting mine for $185. I wanted to just let you know because I think it might be a carrier you may want to see if you could track down and do a review on. The V1 of the same carrier come with a full “solid” cumberbund as the V2 come with skeletal which is also something I was looking for since I live in Arizona. Warrior Assault Systems also has a pretty large line of other gear, bags, pouches etc… So you could possibly load up your review carrier (if you do end up making a review) and have a fully kitted out carrier with the same companies accessories on it.
      Anyways, I just wanted to reach out and keep in touch and possibly give you another video idea. Also, if you do end up getting some of these things from Warrior Assault maybe you could send some pouches my way. 😂🤣😂
      Keep up the great work brother, I really enjoy your videos and your humor and personality make your videos very easy to follow and not get to “intimidated” getting advise from an “average Joe” and not some ego driven mine is better than yours type context creator. Sorry for the long comment, just had to follow up and letcha know. 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

    Great video and detailed review of this product. Thank you. The only thing I would say about proper fit is the rifle. I see far too many people having their stocks extended out way too far. I am 6'1" and mine is usually all the way inward, meaning my nose is pretty much touching the charging handle. This way, I can face the threat directly and get the most coverage of the plate over my vitals. This makes shouldering much easier and more intuitive instead of pointing the rifle across my centerline (diagonally). Something to think about and try. But it has worked well for me and I have never felt hampered by any plate carrier design, since more of my shoulder is available for the butt stock.

    Ive been running a gen1 k19 for over a year now, i only have two issues with it, 1)the cumberbund, i wish it was more ridged and had more molle. 2) the shoulder clips will get in the way if you dont have the carrier properly adjusted to your body. Other then that with plates the admin pouch isnt very hard to get into and the shoulder pads are extremely comfortable even after 12 hours of duty type use.

      Since you're running the esstac placard...the updated version actually wouldn't work as well for you since it's actually missing a molle row. With your current setup, you'ld be better suited for the old version. If you move to a placard, you can easily just add the Axl placard.

  • @agmsmith4079
    @agmsmith4079 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    Oh also, the way you are hooking the butt stock into the carrier is “correct” way of shouldering the rifle. It’s what I do and it’s what a lot of guys I know do with every carrier they run not just the K19.
    The thinking behind it is the rifle needs to be as close and centered to your head as possible so you barely have to look down at all to see through your optic on the rifle when shouldered. If you are putting the gun on your shoulder where the quick release buckle is then that is a “bad” habit and forces you to have to tilt your head to see through your sites. I know John Lovell with Warrior Poet Society and a bunch of other guys with instruction videos for carbines talk about this. I think John even mentions hooking the buttstock inside the plate carrier like you are doing.
    Anyway... you really want the carbine as close as possible to the centerline of your dominant eye anyway. You should try to keep from canting your head to the side at all and merely just tuck your chin DOWN a hair to get your cheek weld and see down your optic. The idea that the buttstock should be in the pocket where your Clavicle meets your shoulder is kind of old school paper target shooting technique. For more modern combat running and gunning the thinking is to always have the gun close to the centerline as possible so you should barely have to tilt your head down to get shots on target.
    Also one thing you see a lot of guys do, they will actually can’t the rifle inward just a hair to really make sure they aren’t tilting their head at all. It won’t affect accuracy enough short range to be a problem.

    • @ThinLineDefenseCo
      @ThinLineDefenseCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Badass, thanks for this awesome bit. It's good to know that hooking it into the carrier was right. It certainly felt right
      And ... Big props for mentioning going more centerline. I actually swapped to this on accident. I was shooting precision and realized that the closer in line I was to my eye.... The more accurate I was. I moved this over to the rifle side when I noticed it. It's interesting that you mentioned a community wide push to that and away from the natural pocket. I didn't just want to start doing my own thing... But it works so damn well... Not only for accuracy but also for speed of presentation.
      Awesome awesome tips and input. Much appreciated!

    This is a great plate carrier with one really big flaw in my experience. The cummerbund as you noted at about 14:15 is way too sharp. It was so sharp it cut through my underlayer and skin in under 30 minutes. It's such hard plastic stitching in such a small are that it puts all that cutting force into less than a mm. It needs a cummerbund redesign or some sort of underpad, even as an option. Sucks because otherwise it's the most comfortable carrier I've ever worn.

    Can confirm this plate carrier is the most comfortable carrier I've ever encountered. I literally own less comfortable winter jackets than this. I own plate backers and they aren't even necessary in this carrier, though there is plenty of room to allow them behind Hesco L210s. Looking forward to customizing the cummerbund and selecting a placard. AMAP III in the Agilite Black Friday sale I hope!

    • @shepherd3085
      @shepherd3085 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd toss those L210s and go with RMA level 4. Hesco has been known to have some sus products and recently recalled some of their plates. The L210s are multi hit rated and are not level 4 NIJ rated.

    • @KRinsdale
      @KRinsdale 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shepherd3085 Their two recalls were on different plates were a couple of years ago. I am also far more likely to run into an AR with green tips in my life than a 30-06 with M2 in it. I do plan on "the actual world is over we have been successfully invaded by a military or oppressed by our own" loadout eventually but special threat plates are not a bad solution for the overwhelming majority of rounds you might actually encounter in home defense/civil unrest. Most people who are likely to break into your home or be an asshat aren't going to do it with a BAR loaded with armor piercing rounds.

    The only major thing about the K19 that kind of turns me off about it isn't necessarily a con, since it is a functional design choice, but that webbing that's missing on the cummerbund to fit the fine sizing adjustment is some valuable MOLLE real estate that now isn't available. Other than that, I dig everything about this carrier and definitely wanna snag one!

    I havent had good experience with the QD mounts. Unless I am a doop and dont realize how to quickly adjust them, I have issues getting a tight fit based on the lack of adjustment. For example, if we were finishing up chow and were called out at a moments notice, simply having a full belly can make fitment a little off. Having simple velcro straps is the most effective for quick precise fitting. Also, QD points on the shoulders just get in the way of your stock. Also, I have gotten the pull tab wedged into the QD release, effectively removing the QD function in the heat of the moment.
