    I've always had good success with the mindset that the team morale is the most important key to success. If people are happy, people do good work. So throw yourself into getting to know people, level with them, push them, and make sure they are taken care of.

    It's all about the Persona, a good persona will always get you far. Patience and being a peoples' person is the key in my opinion, the willingness to want to know more

    Very well explained. Adding to your list Daria, I think Amazing SM's believe in the Principle of 'Empiricism' and are 'Value driven' (focusing on Outcome than Output)

    Scrum Master is very much akin to being an effective teacher. All these traits, plus an ability to communicate in a way that doesn't alienate the team members, (because each comes with various levels of experience) are necessary for total team integration. Many teachers I've known have transitioned into QA and Scrum roles. That's what guided me to this field, even though I've always had a fascination with computers and IT. I've been a teacher-trainer in Poland and Bulgaria, and as a native English speaker, I've seen first hand how important personality is in playing a part of an effective teacher. Even here in the US, where a Bachelor's is required for teaching in schools, I've seen teachers with less run circles around the certified teachers. My background is in both medicine and education, so I really feel Scrum Master is a natural environment for me. I look forward to learning more from you, and implementing your theories in my daily work life.

      Yes, I think teaching is definitely an important skill for a Scrum Master so the traits like patience help. There is lots in terms of facilitation, mentoring, communication. Scrum Master is a people job.

    In my opinion an OK Scrum Master is the one who lacks creativity in his/ her ways of handling the team. Someone who doesn't experiment much and chooses to plays safe/ always acts too sweet.
    Someone who with time fails to evolve as a leader and prefers to act as a servant to the team.
    According to me an Amazing Scrum Master is an enthusiastic person who inspires the team by living the rules laid for the team. Acknowledges and appreciates the team's efforts and victories.
    Someone who first understands what is expected from him/ her rather than trying to understand what he/she must expect from others.
    An amazing scrum master is someone who helps the team to perceive the challenges, trains them to pro-actively step in and resolve the challenges and work as a team.
    I consider myself very lucky to have always had Amazing Scrum Masters through out my career of 8 years. They have inspired me to a level where soon I will be starting my career as a Scrum Master in a couple of weeks.

      Great description and differentiation between an Ok and a Great Scrum Master. I think you have a really good grasp of the role and what it takes to play it.

    Scrum master skills are critical - traits help but the focus is on great scrum master skills to help the team.

      Yes, skills are definitely needed. Recently I've been working on a development plan for Scrum Masters and it clearly shows how one can develop various skills to become a better Scrum Master.

    I quite enjoy your videos, but please eliminate the backround music :)

    • @ScrumMastered
      @ScrumMastered  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it has been eliminated in the recent videos :) I had to cover the background noise with it without realising how loud it was. Now with the new set up and the new microphone, I don't need the music anymore.

      Agreed; and get a good microphone that goes over your head so we can hear your a bit louder--you have a soft sweet voice, but the information is amazing!!!

    Thanks Daria after watching your videos it feels very positive Can you also make any video on what tools scrum master used to get benefits also does only soft skills traits matters or there are any hard skills also matters to be awesome Scrum Master

    • @ScrumMastered
      @ScrumMastered  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good suggestion. Not sure I'd be able to get to this soon though.
      I believe that the role of a Scrum Master is mostly based on soft skills. I can't think of any hard skills that would be absolutely necessary

    • @dikshamasurkar1223
      @dikshamasurkar1223 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScrumMastered Hard skills as in reporting or sending status reports of possible via using tools like xl sheet, rally, jira, confluence, azure devops, any technical skills etc etc. Or any other hard skills for say

    • @ScrumMastered
      @ScrumMastered  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dikshamasurkar1223 I would argue that none of these hard skills are needed for a Scrum Master to be successful. Sometimes, they even get in the way of what is really important - people and the organization as a whole

  • @cutflow2
    @cutflow2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How much of the technical side should you learn.

    • @ScrumMastered
      @ScrumMastered  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video about that. But the short answer is - not much, just enough to be able to ask your team some powerful questions. E.g. I know that continuous deployment is a great practice, but I don't know how to do it and what it looks like. However, I can ask my team about it if I hear them talking about some problems it might solve.
