Man, this sona is so beautiful. As an aroace individual, I'm so glad to see that in the sona, which kinda popped up entirely unexpected. The colour combinations are all spectacular and I've been wanting to see more spidersonas incorporating elements of real spiders. I've been trying to make one of my own and this has been a great inspiration.

I absolutely adore when movies like Spiderverse come out and EVERYONE starts to get in on the fun to make their own persona tailored to their experiences or likes. The creativity is just oh so yummy
And yours is definitely a treat to see. not only is the final color pallete pretty, but everything you mentioned about her backstory and creation is so interesting to listen to

Really glad you made your "uncle ben" a pet dog, because I feel like losing a pet is in general not always considered as tremendous as the loss of a human person.
My dog died very suddenly two weeks ago and thankfully people around me have been very considerate for me and my family's grief, but I still feel embarrassed bringing it up sometimes in case people won't take it seriously. I've had experiences in school where people just brush it off when someone mentions their pet died.
So this was pretty healing to hear, thank you. I hope the purposeful murders of pets, and loved ones in general, continue to be treated with the importance these robbed lives deserve as we wait to meet them again on the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈💖
Kinda like how your spidersona elegant and very feminine design still stands out with the soft colors and would not easily be intimidating for a design based of spiders compared to Peter having the venom symbiote change his suit to black.

Love the cultural aspects of the spider-sonas people make although the designs are obviously stylised and redesigned to make them make sense within a superhero context it’s nice to learn about cultural clothing and jewellery i otherwise wouldn’t know much about. Not to mention the imagination in implementing different species of spiders into the designs, and as a biology buff I love seeing the different spiders I haven’t heard of. As someone who loves the diversity of both the animal world and in human culture and tradition, it’s one of my favourite trends.
Anyways I was wondering about making my own spider-sona based on the Australian sparklemuffin peacock spider (Maratus jactatus), these spiders are a species of jumping spider so I thought that my sona would have increased jump hight in comparison to other spider-people and have all the other basic spider-man powers, his web shooters would be mechanical and the webs will have an increased elasticity in order to simulate a bungee cord in reference to jumping spiders webbing their starting point before the jump(just in case they miss). I want the costume to emulate the greys of the main segments of the sparklemuffins body whilst having blue and orange hidden within it somewhere(perhaps a hod like spider-Gwen) to represent the sparklemuffins iconic opisthomal flap.
I’d love to here any suggestions on how i could further implement this spider into the sonas design and abilities(if it needs anymore) so feel free to reply if it grabs your imagination
Ps:in this spider-sona’s dimension, the venom symbiote is based of a skeletorus spider (Maratus skeletus) which is also a jumping spider and peacock spider with black and whit/silvery designs on its opisthosomal flap

Omg I watched spider verse today and immediately had to create a spider-sona. After a rough sketch I knew this was the place to come and Cali did not disappoint😁(also deciding on a color some is a nightmare)

Their were so many color themes to pick from, but I definitely think when you put that one on. that it really clicked and brought the whole piece together. Which was kinda fascinating to me, because there were a lot of good colors, but non that had that effect!

My Spidersona is inspired by the Plague Doctor outfits because I just think they’re really cool, and I also have a Spider Lily motif because (spiders) it’s my favourite flower. I’m also making her a sort-of villain, someone who uses villains she’s caught as test subjects for her work, as little bit of a nod to SCP-049 and also because I love villains. She’s sort of a mix of both my self-inserts, my original and my original’s puppet creation version of herself because she is my spidersona and also adding in a little bit of the villainous side of the puppet creation. I haven’t finished, but I’m loving it right now! Definitely want to make her at least a little bit Filipino because I’m Filipino (but then again, Idk if it’ll work with the Plague Doctor motif..)

You did a beautiful job. I loved learning about your culture and the beautiful traditional garments that is worn, and how you incorporated it into your character, as well as how your character is rejecting anything that you feel is unfair as viewed in your culture, like the idea woman needs to give up her life after being married!! The tie ins with the color and the flower crab and the ocean theme AND the orchid being one of the national flowers of Indonesia!! Amazing design, every bit of it has reason and appeal and was amazing to see!
Watching this and learning about your culture is so much fun! I felt like my sona was lacking and didn't know what to add... but thanks to you I am going to do more research and add to them! I'm so excited now!

My spidersona concept has a water theme too! I also had the idea to give them the ability to walk on the surface tension of water. I can't wait to start designing them and this is really helpful

3:30 That is MJ! She's from the comic series "Renew Your Vows" where she, Peter, and Anna-May (an alternate version of Mayday) are a superhero family ala The Incredibles. EDIT: Correction, Anna-May is not an alternate Mayday, rather in that universe Mayday was never born due to Clone Saga events. So Anna-May would have been the younger sister to Mayday if Mayday had been born.
I love that you’re doing your research on what’s spider to inspired by, for your costume. Cuz that what I did and I found a spider from far north of Queensland, that is an ant mimicking spider called camponotus mimic spider! And i called him ( Ape-Spider ) ape is another word for mimic

After I watched the movie I didn't go into the route of making a spider-sona. I just made a new OC. It was a simple self insert at first (because I had a crush on Miles) but then later started becoming her own character. I'm really happy with her and I love seeing what kind of OC's and spider-sona's people make!

That's Spinneret. She's a variant of MJ who's from a world where she and Peter stayed married and had a child. Instead of that girl being named "May/Mayday" like in AtSV, the child's name is Annabelle. Named after Mary Jane's aunt.

Interesting that the particular picture you chose for the thumbnail is from the series where Peter himself is pretty aroace coded (Never dates anyone in the whole show, repeatedly expresses disinterest in romance). Plus that same series had 2 Spider-Verse arcs of its own. :)

Im trying to learn Bō jutsu which is the martial art of fighting with a staff because it’s really cool to me, i also really like Japanese culture as a whole but especially the folklore.
So the one im trying to create’s name is Akumo: from Akuma (demon) and Kumo (spider).

I kind of want to make a spidersona but I have a few ... struggles. 1) I do not like/am scared of spiders, 2) I don't live in a skyscraper-y city, and 3) I can barely draw
Unfortunately, crab spiders don’t shoot webs. Well not that one specifically. They are found in the Americas. They can actually change colors as well, though the process takes days to complete. Before watching this video I actually made a spider soba based off one of these little guys and named her Goldenrod. Instead of possessing web shooters she just uses her super agility to travel and shoots venomous sleep darts from her wrists. Cool design though!
I actually modeled it after their very close cousin, the goldenrod crab spider which is the same thing it just only changed into shades of white red a yellow whereas the flower spider can change into several different colors across the rainbow
