Death Guard VS Ultramarines Warhammer 40k Battle Report. Guilliman VS Mortarion.

- Mortarion and his Death Guard have come forth from the warp to spread Nurgle's gift on the ravaged Imperium and only Guilliman and the Ultramarines stand in his way. In this ultimate showdown of brother versus brother, Primarch versus Primarch we shall see what is mightier, the shield or the hammer.
This is 40k in 40m Season 3 Episode 7, Nurgle's lucky number.
Tak is back with his Ultramarines to square off against Tycho who brings a deadly Death Guard force containing Mortarion, his favourite Daemon prince Ochyt the Destroyer, and two Plagueburst Crawlers as well as Deathschroud and Blightlord Terminators. The Ultramarines are led by the Avenging Son, Guilliman who commands three dreadnoughts, two squads of Eradicators, and Bladeguard Veterans as well as Infiltrators and Intercessors.

@@KumaoftheForest MWG Channel did a Glory trial of champions which had all 4 chaos gods fighting. I also watched a funny video where they pitted a bunch of khorne berserkers vs Emperors children :P

I'm a new Death Guard player and watching Tycho play is REALLY helping me out with understanding and playing the Death Guard to their fullest potential
And I thought my family reunions were awkward.

Hmm. I would say, lore-wise, that Guilliman closing to melee WAS the tactically superior decision, just not for the battle at hand. Guilliman has the Emperor's sword, which can kill daemons outright. Mortarion, though he managed to avoid outright annihilation with that flurry of sixes, will be feeling that wound for a long, long time.
Tycho was blessed by Tzeentch when he asked about the Leviathans before this game
Spoiler, Dorn comes in at the end and saves Roboute.

@@martinsleight321 sorry I just saw this comment. I feel like for chaos plays it would be cool though to have there living traitor primarch (obviously not konrad) for each legion. Plus ot feels right for the setting that its guilliman now trying to keep his father's crumbling empire from being crushed by his brothers or alien threats. Absolutely loved that battlerep, you guys are smashing it! Unsure, on my opinions on 9th yet - the power swing of factions reminds me of 7th edition.
There are ways to play 9th. This felt a bit more "old school" smash armies together which doesn't work as well in this edition.

Me and other players math hammered the capabilities of named characters in 40K. Mortarian is the most powerful - off all other characters - St Celestine can last longer only because her body guards basically give here a total of 10 wounds. New Sister book has the body and Celestine as one unit. Lol.

Taiko vs Tak is always my fav! I don't really know anything about the tabletop so I just watch these for the interactions (and of course, the beautiful models and terrain and editing), and those two have such charisma together!
