Everyone is a hero here, also the French having only one year..... I think this must be the most difficult boats to sail that mankind ever seen.

I would love to see a parallel cup with J class. Call it americas vintage cup or classic cup or something. Have fleet races. Have a lower cost to entry. Try to get some more teams who are passionate and cant afford an AC75 Campaign. Give something for everyone. I think the AC should be the tip of performance and technology, but it would be nice to see more teams and a variety. If the classic cup was televised, i am sure teams would enter
J class do have races/ regattas.
That's what I was thinking a few months ago amidst all the anti-foil negativity I was coming across in the video comments during the recon period. I also thought of similar names and like your suggestion of AC Classic. A parallel cup for me would be a retired class agreed to before each campaign cycle would race but not be limited to originally built boats. New yachts could be built with the latest materials, construction techniques and electronics but the classic class rules would remain frozen.
There are already regattas for Js and other classic yachts.
Brutal for the French. They spent over $50,000,000 and they only get 8 races - that's over $6,000,000 a race! It's tough being an America's Cup sponsor...
There should have been atleast three rounds before the semis, the event seems rushed.
For them it was always about AC38

@@bobdillon1138 I found it on some analyst's site. It was based on the fact that it was a short campaign and they bought in their design from ETNZ. As you say, it could easily have been more. The general view is that Ineos have spent about $100m. Rich man's game...
Wow - Ineos are on a serious upward trajectory. In the last couple of days they've been fast in both heavy and light air. So where are all the jokes about Britannia being a bus now?
According to the analysts their centre of gravity is farther forward than the other designs. This makes the boat fast but harder to sail. Now they're getting the hang of it, they do seem to be in the mix.
They have to be favourites against he Swiss, while the Italians and Yanks will have a tough battle. Britain vs Italy in the semis?
Wasn't anticipating being this sad to see the French out. Saw it coming pretty early, but none the less. If Kandler and cie are going to follow up by coming next time, like they've been threatening to, they're going to want to start their foil development sooner than later and not rely on mid-R&D hand me downs from another team. They've really cleaned up their sailing over the series, but the boat just isn't as fast and flexible as Taihoro, and going by their skill development I think the real deficit is under the water.
I thought they had improved so much as slingsby said 2 more weeks would have been a different story

He is not only the best sailor in the field but he is a match racing master- it was obv from the get go that he was never going to show Ineos hand in races that don’t matter. Let the presenters and poseurs do their thing there. But when the pressure comes on his team stand up. ineos for the cup.
Shame on only English speaking ACs commentators for straight away suspecting of LRs fair play after never showing any Team NZ damage pictures and only offering us team NZ excuses and sympathy for them. We deserve better commentators, no offense.
Kiwi commentators are one eyed in every sport- if you think their commentary here is painful try listening to kiwi commentary on an All Blacks game.

Fantastic end race . The Louis Vuitton is going to be so good. If the British choose to race alinghi the pressure goes on Luna rossa but I think the winner of the American Italian races will be the winner of the Louis Vuitton. If Luna rossa win's that semi they will be battle hardened for the final of the Louis Vuitton... Then etnz will have its work cut out

Ineos vs PP in the semi's? why not knock them out before they develop? or is it just AM and RB the options?
They won 2 out of 3 against them, but there's no knowing whether, if LR got a better start, they would still beat Ineos. It's surely better to just let the two strongest rivals knock each other out. Ineos are basically guaranteed to beat red bull.
In my opinion ineos disadvantaged in winning that race. Really won't get to develop their boat and become battle ready against ARR

Why are you watching? There's been some great racing throughout the LV round robin. Not every race is going to be a close tacking duel but the intrigue of the competition and changing competitive situation make it super interesting.
