No. INEOS is much favored over Alinghi. This matchup will almost certainly put them in the LV Cup finals. If they selected LR the outcome would not have been as clear cut.
@jamesaron1967 yeah. But ineos was improving the most. Now they have let LR get some great race practice, while they get basically nothing. It's the easy route to the next round, sure. But it seems to create a disadvantage for Ineos.
@@tristankiddie1710 Well, INEOS is still practicing in a race setting even if Alinghi isn't providing the same competitive intensity, unlike ETNZ who are sitting this round out. I'm sure the team weighed the pros and cons to arrive at the decision they made for their best strategy in this AC. Besides, they already beat LR twice in a row and are probably feeling very confident they can do it again.

While Ineos, who was improving at the greatest rate, have opted for the softer path. Better to have kept their foot on the neck than let LR up and then have better training. Unfortunately, sponsors take a lot of control of these choices. Heck, if the kiwis hadn't given the Americans the extra days because sponsors wanted to fly in to see the kiwis win... they wouldn't have had the time to do the upgrades to their system and come back from 0

i'm not a sailor, nor do I have any knowledge re sailing espsially these big one but ewaht is Red Bull racing doing on the Semi finals. They are jusy plain useless. I bet ya anything they will lose 5-0 no doubts. The toehr toe wow now that is real racing.
This is the worst America’s Cup I have seen. I think I started in 1992. No pre-start engagements, the race is done if someone falls from the foils, or usually after the first cross if the faster boat won the start, little tactics or passing opportunities going on in the legs, the boats are ugly, the broadcast is terrible, the teamwork non-existent or it doesn’t show at all…it’s the most arid sport spectacle I have had to witness in a long time.
This^ I just gave the exact same rant to an older sailing friend in a bar who couldn't figure out how to watch by connecting his phone to his TV.... I said you aren't missing anything, it's unbelievably boring, and we reminisced about the good old days of when sailing was sailing. And who is the freaking sound engineer? Do we need to hear the panting of the cyclors the whole time?
