    Unicorn: "we blind people!"
    Black/Dread Knight: "try me 🌚"

    If the Dread Knights proc the double damage + curse within the first 2 strikes, it is a sure win for them.

    What I've always hated about the cavaliers is the amount of wood necessary to get them. Playing mostly on 200%, wood is an extremely valuable resource for most of the game and them costing 30 wood just to get the cavaliers and then another 10 to get champions is painful.

      Valid point. Resource silo helps but it also costs so much :) Thanks for the comment.

      @@qualityoldhomm-rd3yu Wood+Ore silos pay for themselves eventually, it's all about investment if you're fighting the long game.

      @@CidSilverWing Agreed on that and imo also depends on the map :) Thanks for the comment.

    With the champions, shouldn't you switch which stack of dread knights you are attacking every time, so you travel more hexes and get more jousting bonus?

    • @qualityoldhomm-rd3yu
      @qualityoldhomm-rd3yu  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment. Agreed. However, it is kind of 1 vs 1 (x2). And the reason is to mitigate possible RNG affecting the result too much :)

  • @Canuovea
    @Canuovea 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Well well. Dread Knights hit real hard, but RNG is king here... okay maybe not. Cost efficiency seems to be doing it.

      Thanks for the comment. Agreed on that. At the same time, it seems to be Crucial for Cavaliers and Champions to get in the first strike to do well :)

      @@qualityoldhomm-rd3yu I wonder if they'd do better bouncing back and forth. Top Champion hits top foe first, bottom hits bottom foe, then top comes down to hit bottom, bottom goes up to hit top. I don't recall just how much bonus damage adds up over distance or if it is capped at the relatively low distance of "to the other side of the enemy unit."
      Though some of the terrain prevented that kind of thing anyway, which was really interesting, and it seemed to have an actual effect. Really interesting.

      @@Canuovea Thanks for the comment. I am not sure about this, but I have an inkling that it is +10% dmg per hex. So the effect is really drastic and what you say would improve the results quite a bit :)

    Dread Knights are the best.
    Even if they lose. Cuz with more luck they would win which isn't a thing for anyone else.

      Yea, their performance despite variation in luck seems to be quite consistent. :) Thanks for the comment.

      Thanks for the comment. It is only when the speed is tied. This unit trio here is interesting partly because of that ;)

    • @furtivetef805
      @furtivetef805 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think it should be experimented with in any duel - try what if the other unit, even if slower, attacks first. It could be mentioned, that naturally their speed is lower.

      @qualityoldhomm-rd3yu  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@furtivetef805 Thanks for the comment. I will add a test taking that into account to TO-Do list. At the same time, imo speed is one of the most crucial attributes of a unit :)

      @@qualityoldhomm-rd3yu Thanks for the reaction! I think it is just more interesting to see which unit is stronger in "raw power", and the first hit probably would turn tables around in a considerable number of cases. Yes, speed is an integral attribute of the unit, that's why I think it is good to add a notice, which case is to be considered more "natural" conditions. Speed allows to use tactics, such as hit and run (e.g. archdevils can win 1 vs 1 against haspids on specific terrain), for shooters to escape slowly walking hand-to-hand combat units, which adds/taints the game beauty/fairness (depending on your taste), but in any case results in revealing only one side of the coin we are interested in seeing. :)
