I was terrified when I first did this, as I fell into it by mistake and felt hurried since it was timed, and I just wasn't ready. I got through about half of it and had to walk away for a while, and missed the fists due to missing the timer. But I loved it anyway and drew a lot of info from watching Comforts' vids. You and he got me through so much! One of these days I'll do it again. 😊
You can complete this even faster if you start the quest going to the Foundry via the back entrance at the Hippodrome. Go in, grab the warehouse key which is right near that final area, exit, then go to the Warehouse and continue as normal. You don't need to go to the Research Lab until you go to fight the Lich, and you don't need to go to the Abandoned Quarters at all. (Unless of course you want to loot and explore). Overall a great guide, I agree with all the advice you give here.
Good point. I always take living quarters, but I guess it's just because that's what I always do. You can skip it and get into the foundry closer. For some reason, I always think of coming out that way but not going in. Still never figured out why they got rid of train key b. I guess it wasn't possible with the new train travel they introduced.
You bet! Its pretty easy to be scared by the timer but it really isn't too much to worry about. I think I forgot to mention that after you kill the bosses the timer resets to 60 days each time. So you can fix it last second if you forget.
It sucks at first because the dungeons will confuse you. But once you get into it and discover all the cool secrets it becomes on of the best parts of the game. At least for me.

The wiki is great for information, but unfortunanlty mostly useless to actually follow. Words don't very well describe the dungeons so the directions mostly confuse you.

I used to do that myself. Not so much anymore, but there are some many options to choose from and the beginning game is arguable the most interesting and fun.
holly hell thx for this. btw i got a build you will love.. absolutely love. I call it the green lantern build... marvel comics the Green lantern if anybody didn't know. The best part about this build is you can pretty much pick any break throughs you want, what determines this build is weapons and armor. So use Lantern with decay enchant+flamethrower. Jade helm and boots with Elite Desert chest piece.. jade sword or mace... even go with a horror weapon for back up. Been having a blast.. i melt everything in cher, moon, forest and ab desert. thinking of going ritualist for totem. Flamethrower hits so fast and im not sure it will hit and count stacks with totems.. if it does... omg game over. Let me know what you think.
Well I never thought about this, but the decay element is really strong. With the right armor like you have you could melt enemies. I might give something like this a try. Thanks for the comment!

Ah, that is the fabulous palladium shield. It is actually a unique item found over near the giants village in the swamp. It is probably the best shield as it inflicts elemental vulnerability.
In my world there isn't the key c at the manufacture facility i pulled the lever the door opened but the isn't like these two green monster did they updated how you get gemstone key c ?
I’m running into an issue I’ve followed step by step but I’m getting to the manufacturing facility and it’s not dark like in this video and there is no lever for the gate to progress instead of iron bars blocking the two paths past the lever mine is just open passage ways and no lever to open the next area please help how can I fix this
Hey idk if you still need it but I encountered the same issue..so basically just follow the way within the facility until you unlock the last gate that get you out from there to the old theater. The key will be on the left side in front of you under a huge wheel look alike on a face statue. That's how it figured it out
I found that the Original Rust & Vengeance to be the bast of the 2 editions.. but honestly I skipped this event on my DE run through.. and I think The Three Brothers is the best of all the DLC.. I hated Harmmaton..
I find that MK-7 boss is the easiest one for range if you use the wall cheese, they did get rid of most of the cheese he can hit you now but it is very easy to avoid his attacks just walking in a circle close to the edge and firing off a shot every time there is an opening. For the fun of it I just killed him using nothing but jinx and torment
You said that I could start it after I join a faction but when exactly does it start if I choose sorobor academy is it the same for every faction? ie; 1 faction quest 100 days 3 faction quests 60 days
To anyone doing this quest on old gen xbox, i just had the corrupted giant bug out on me, he didnt fully split at half hp he could keep attacking me but i couldnt hit him forcing me to die and retry, be sure to save b4 trying this boss
I have around 1800 at this point. I played when it first came out on my X-box 1 and then switched over to PC right befoer DE. Have beaten it a lot since. Also, no problem!

I have an rtx 3080/i7 12700 and I get the most unstable framerate all over the place no matter what settings I change. It's becoming a bit of a hassle to keep playing which sucks cause I lovd this game
Well I don't have anything on to check for me regularly, but I will say I have not had any issues with this before. This game shouldn't be that bad to handle especially with what you have. One thing you may want to do is lower grass quantity. That can mess with it a lot. I play with motion blur and ss reflections off. I don't know if that matters much but that's what I am seeing in my settings. In the display section on the first tab I have vertical sync off. I am not sure if this will help at all really, but those are the only things I changed on purpose. Hit up my discord in the description if you are still having issues.
I keep having to take breaks from this quest, maybe my build sucks, not sure. It's just such a drain trying to complete this and die and lose progress run back rinse and repeat mean while other timed quests are failing because when you die sometimes you lose a few hours or a few days. Random question for you. What weapons/shields give off light? I am wanting to use the brigands backpack. I know of only two, the radiant wolf sword and the glowstone dagger. Are there any others?
When I get on the train after beating the MK boss it does not show a list of places I can go. It only says Foundry. I'm playing oldward but that shouldn't matter. The guide has been spot-on until that part. EDIT: Ok I found the manufacturing facility on my own. The guide is invalid after the warehouse if you're not playing the definitive edition. The whole area is revamped. The doors are in different places and the key is outside the facility.
Old outward had one major difference in that you couldn't go to whatever location you want. They added a list so you can just select any of the spots with definitive edition and a one or two of the keys were removed as well.
I just killed the rust litch and I only received the helmet?? Do I have to beat the quest before the 60 days to get the full set or did I miss something? Or is the helmet all that drops? Can anyone plz help ? I love your vids btw sheen!
Gold lich set works well, but you will need to watch for physical damage there. As long as you can run around for a while you should be fine. Running attacks makes things very simple but only if you have a spirit varnish.
dude i cant believe getting the antique plate set is this complicated. im not actually prepared for this, i havent even created my own enchanted weapon yet and im at a 100plus hours playing this game 😂😂
Was just having this problem, I looked up the key on the outward wiki and found that the key is now outside after you pull the lever to the final door. You’ll notice there are a lot of differences to the new manufacturing facility compared to the one in this video, although still similar 15:56 - is the area where the key is now
27:19 playing on ps5 with my son a day or two ago and mana transfer station dropped our frames so low the game froze and we had to give up. The only way I got through was playing solo. 😅
Good god, that's quite a quest. Even with a run-past-everything approach it takes a while, by the look of it. Once you factor in dying and then half an hour to get back to where you were, there's no way I'm going to make it (only 10 days left on my timer). Respect to the players who found those secret buttons and then worked out what they had opened/changed.
You can extend the time limit twice by defeating the two bosses , and it brings it back to 60 days (one reset each, so essentially a maximum of 120 extra days total), so hang in there!
Map layout is different on console. Im stuck at the end of manufacturing facility. *edit* The key is after the exit. Yeah, screw this quest. It sucks. The long mazes and constantly getting lost makes it too much of a chore to do. It sucks that a lot of the dungeons in this game are like this, but this quest is the worst of them all when it comes to the maze bullshit. I understand that the game is hard and the developers don't want to hold your hand, but this is bad design. It's not my fault that I get lost so much in this game, especially in the DLC. I love Outward but I wish the developers would have added more tools for navigation. I'm not talking about markers like most modern RPGs, but creative magical ways to navigate. Rune magic is so arcane and I love it. I wish nagivating was as complex and interesting. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be playing any more of this DLC.
OMG, I got tired from just watching the walkthrough. Can't imagine how tedious it was to actualy complete the quest and record the video. Sheen's got the patience of a buddha.
Yes this is on the non definitive edition. The trains have select locations they lead to meaning you need to either know which is which or follow them in order. It was a bit trickier before DE.
@@SheenShots Oh ive solved the Prob , there gives different locations wher u can jump into the train . After a little Running and Jumping in every location i figured out , at one of the earlier station are 2 directions for the train. greeting for All ps4 and xbox players hope u guys find it

I only joined a faction and I entered harmattan once then left and came back and saved when i loaded again i got the cutscene but no quest only when i touch the body so does the timer start once i touch the golem for the mark couse i am for sure not ready for this boss i have too fight doing ure hermit of doom build but only have the gear no enchants or anything only joined a faction havent finished the main qeust so no good passives am I screwed
I hate enchanting so much ive walked the whole map not one elemental not ONE oh i went too the lit up lamp area nothing even checked behind buildings and such enchanting legit garbage mechanic
It's really easy when you traverse the map and find where all the elementals are then you can sleep in a plant tent right outside of whatever dungeon to get the right elemental particles and the enchanting is self explanatory just follow the instructions and you should be cool

I always start a new character before I reach mid game due to a bad case of restartitis...but your work about that game is great!

Ornate chakram, angler shield. The usual strat is the use runic lantern though.
Angler shield is pretty decent for light. The soul lantern also works but its a quest reward from blue chamber.
Runic lantern is the best option, but you can also put an infuse on your weapon which gives you some light in a pinch. Lightning and fire are best
The tsar shield gives some, not great for it tho unless ur blocking since then u aim the light at ur target

Wait so will the timer start no matter what after the first faction quest? I want to get the hex skill tree before the timer starts in harmattan
If u dont join a faction then u can do anything u want in harmattan no timer, unless u manualy start the golem

Can you go to most of these areas and clear them before starting the quest?
No. There will be special rune locks on all entrances to the train dungeon until you touch the golem that starts this quest.

I understand that the game is hard and the developers don't want to hold your hand, but this is bad design. It's not my fault that I get lost so much in this game, especially in the DLC. I love Outward but I wish the developers would have added more tools for navigation. I'm not talking about markers like most modern RPGs, but creative magical ways to navigate. Rune magic is so arcane and I love it. I wish nagivating was as complex and interesting.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be playing any more of this DLC.
You should make a video on what happens if you don't complete the quest in time. I'm curious as to what would happen and I'm sure many others are too.

OMG, I got tired from just watching the walkthrough. Can't imagine how tedious it was to actualy complete the quest and record the video. Sheen's got the patience of a buddha.

On Console u got stuck by the Train cuz u dont got a dialog option where to drive , only 1 direction...
Yes this is on the non definitive edition. The trains have select locations they lead to meaning you need to either know which is which or follow them in order. It was a bit trickier before DE.
@@SheenShots Oh ive solved the Prob , there gives different locations wher u can jump into the train . After a little Running and Jumping in every location i figured out , at one of the earlier station are 2 directions for the train. greeting for All ps4 and xbox players hope u guys find it

It spawns outside in the old theater. Had the same problem.
Same for the D key.
Best quest in outward? Debatable.
How dare you lol. But for real this is my favorite. It is pretty long and the dungeons are my favorite to explore.

I only joined a faction and I entered harmattan once then left and came back and saved when i loaded again i got the cutscene but no quest only when i touch the body so does the timer start once i touch the golem for the mark couse i am for sure not ready for this boss i have too fight doing ure hermit of doom build but only have the gear no enchants or anything only joined a faction havent finished the main qeust so no good passives am I screwed
I hate enchanting so much ive walked the whole map not one elemental not ONE oh i went too the lit up lamp area nothing even checked behind buildings and such enchanting legit garbage mechanic
It’s actually pretty easy lol
It's really easy when you traverse the map and find where all the elementals are then you can sleep in a plant tent right outside of whatever dungeon to get the right elemental particles and the enchanting is self explanatory just follow the instructions and you should be cool
