Short coilover install video for C5/C6 corvettes! We were getting my homie Simon's minty Z06 ready for a track day by installing Stance Coilovers. Follow us on Instagram! @Lsx_Gabe @Simonmorad
Just a note: I snapped a 6mm wrench trying to remove the front upper shock nuts. After messing with vice grips for an hour, I found a tool at O'Reilly specifically made for this. It's basically a socket with a rectangluar opening on one end that fits that square peg on the top of the shock. It's Lisle #20400 "Shock Absorber Tool". (This fit my 2011 base.) I put a wrench through the opening in the wheel well onto the nut, then used the Lisle tool with a socket and my electric impact to remove the nuts. I think the tool was about $15, plus $10 for a new 6mm wrench to replace the one I broke.
Stance is so underrated, I love them, had them on my S13 and now I have them on my Z06 as well! I swapped to a streetable coilover since then but I loved them, I have Powertrix coilovers now.
And all C5s, and the C7... One of those weird cost/weight savings things. The leaf springs are actually very good but, for any serious track duty, a good coilover is a huge upgrade.
I’m literally balls deep trying to remove my lower arms, dealing with nightmare sway bar bolts... I’m so happy you showed the upper are method

Thanks for the tips on your video, just finish doing mine and it came out great.
Hows the grip does it corner under throttle better? Great video!!
Good job bud 👍🏽
I’m installing Coilovers and can’t get the front spring out. All bolts are removed but it’s not budging. Ideas?
You're going to need drop spindles to correct for jump steer. L.G. Motorsports has them ; )
GOOD STUFF
nice vid.
I had no idea the c6 zo6 had leaf springs
