    I was pleasantly surprised to see that the DJI lens cover actually had glass in it this time. I don't think the Air 2s lens cover had any glass in it. Great testing Marcus, I was digging the motion blur. And I think you were right, the ND 32 might have been a better choice this day. Thanks for sharing.

    You videos are making it difficult to choose between the Air 3 and the Pro 3. Both seem to have a great zoom. Wish you would do a comparision of the two drones doing roof inspections, focusing on examing shingles, guttters and flashing.

    I changed my mind since the last time I posted, I should be getting my Air 3 in 2 days, also decided to get the Startrc ND filter set with a UV, CPL, ND8, N16, N32, and N64. I know they will not be the top of the line ones, but better than nothing. This hobby is getting a little expensive. A couple months ago, they opened a Slim Chickens here and we tried it and it was very good, little pricey, but they what isn't these days? Great video and thanks for the demo of the filters.

    I have a question. With there being two different cameras and when you attach an ND Filter with the same number on both lenses, does it affect your recording when switching between the two cameras? I was just wondering because I see that there are also split filters available with different strengths for each camera on the same filter.

    • @IdahoQuadcopter
      @IdahoQuadcopter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the cameras are different, and you would want to change your settings accordingly.

    Hi Marcus, a very nice video showing the benefits of using ND filters, thank you for sharing. When you were flying low, I kept saying to my monitor, turn on OA, turn OA back on. Then you realized that OA was off and turned it back on. Interesting that you didn't get low OA sensor output to your FPV screen. Maybe this suggests that turning off OA would save battery for long flights with the Air 3? Turning off OA on the Mini 3 Pro does nothing to conserve battery, but turning off OA on the Autel Nano+ give an increase of flight time of 15%.
    Maybe RTH should have been set to Preset so as to not fly so close to homes on the RTH?

    I just wonder why don’t you prefer go for a bit higher ISO so you can bring the shutter speed up to 1/60 ? For some moments it’s seems too blurry imo (Especially when you where close to the corn fields)

    Marcus, are these the split filters Freewell is NOW selling (FW-A3-SPLITND) or the original first run - now discontinued, i believe. With the huge aperture difference between the cameras Frewell puts double the ND # on the 1x camera. For example ND16 on 1X w/ND8 on the 3x all the way to ND64 bottom/ND32 top. Works perfect. DJI didn't do it o their Air 3 Filters but the Mavic 3 DJI Filters use half strength for the 7x camera. Strange since Air 3 needs this more with the huge aperture difference between cameras 1.7 vs 2.8
    PS. The Long Exposure Freewell for Mavic 3 Pro is SPLIT. It is a 1000 for the 24mm and 70mm and ND512 for the 166mm.
    Brilliant! They do a 2000/1000 as well - now we need the same for Air 3.

    • @IdahoQuadcopter
      @IdahoQuadcopter  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, these are not split filters. It's the same strength for both cameras. Thank you John!

  • @FredHarvey-wp2qy
    @FredHarvey-wp2qy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've used some filters on my Air 2S, but nothing as elaborate as the set you have. I noticed that the auto setting allowed the camera to have an ISO of 260, but in manual mode you had to jump up 100 at a time. If you wanted the shutter speed to wind up at twice the frame rate, couldn't you have just set the shutter to 1/60 and then put the ISO in auto mode? That would give you the blur you wanted to get but still gotten good quality video?
    Have you ever tried an aftermarket APP to control a DJI drone? Something like Litchi?

    UV filters are very much a hangover from film photography. Other than protect the lens they don't do much in the digital world. CPL filters need adjustment to get best results. Most effective when at 90 degrees to the sun. IMHO anything under ND32 is a waste of monkey.
